New MADE IN HELL. Presale starts TODAY!

Weeeeee'reeeee Baaaaaaaaaack. We know you've missed us dearly but we've been a bit busy making massive rock albums and what not. We have added 2 T-Shirts, 1 Polo, and 1 Zip-Up Hoodie to the MIH repertoire. All were of course designed by yours truly. As usual, these items are limited edition (250 pieces each), hand-numbered, and signed. Pre-Sale starts today. You know the drill.

http://madeinhell.bigcartel.com

In case you forgot....

MADE IN HELL is wearable art by Ian Watkins.

Super limited edition, numbered, custom printed shirts made to order. Four designs at a time and one collaboration with another artist. Once they are gone, they are gone. They will never be printed again. Once all designs have run out, a new set of limited edition designs will appear. New designs will only be put up once the previous four designs are gone. We have no aesthetic other than putting whatever we want on shirts, and making them something special, something that only a certain number of people in the world will own and will look amazing while doing so. Sometimes the four will have a theme, sometimes they wont. Each shirt comes numbered with a custom tag, sticker and badge. We dont have a bunch of stock waiting to be sold, we only print them if people want them, then once they reach the set limit they are no more. We arent a corporation, we are an idea. We arent the storyline, we are the subplot. We arent a sure thing, we are very limited, We arent the good guys, we are made in hell.

Reading update (Sunday)

Sunday

Had an early start so that I could get over to Main Stage for Kids In Glass Houses. They played really well and included a couple of new ones, which was nice. They also played all the favourites, including Dance All Night and Lovely Bones, which I was really happy about.

Next up I saw Brand New. A good way to chill out on a mad Sunday afternoon. The sound wasn't great for them, but it was still really good.

Next we went off to watch L'Amour La Morgue, which is Ian from Lostprophets new dance side project. We went because we were more curious than anything else, but it was actually quite good. Completely different to Lostprophets, but good to hear what he's been up to.

After an hilarious conversation with one of my friends where he told me that two of my other friends were playing on the main stage (he couldn't hear me properly), we went off to find them at the main stage where Yeah Yeah Yeahs were. Not a fan and didn't really enjoy it but it was still a good show.

We stayed there after this, as next up was Bloc Party. They were bloody amazing! Played really well, all the favourites and had great banter between songs, which was something that was missing from most bands over the weekend, I found. Really enjoyed them.

We went over to the NME stage next as our Sunday night headliners were going to be Lostprophets, but when we got there, AFI hadn't even started, so we got a space and watched them. Bloody hell, they were so good! Really want to see their full show now because they were so good.

Finally, my last band of the weekend was Lostprophets, and boy, didn't they do well? Amazing set, great banter, guest appearances from some of The Blackout and a fantastic crowd- what more could you want? I sang every word to every song and loved it. I missed seeing these boys live and it was great to see them again. Can't wait for the new album now. Such a great way to end an amazing weekend.

Cue me and my friends heading back to our tents for more drunkenness, conversations about Les Dennis, black bogies, Journey and much more...Wake up Monday with the mother of all hangovers after basically continuously drinking from 6pm Thursday night until about 2am Monday morning.

I have to say though-fucking good weekend. Thanks to all the bands that made it so good-YMAS, The Blackout, Lostprophets, Jack's Mannequin, NFG, Bloc Party, KIGH, etc- all my friends that made it so great- Charl, Brad, Mike, Nath, Chloe, Harriet, Phil, Leanne, Jack, CW boys, LOL boys, Marky D and Smithy and all the others- and of course any one else I met along the way who was friendly and kept up the festival spirit. You all made it worthwhile.

Let's do it all again next year!

My Pre-Reading Top 10

So as I'm leaving for Reading i just over a days time, I thought I would do a 'Top 10 Songs' for the bands I wanna see. These aren't really in a order, just 10 bands I can't wait to see.

  1. Kiss And Tell-You Me At Six- How could I not be excited to see these?!? I seriously can't believe how much I love this song now. I wasn't so keen at first but it's just grown on me so much. In case you haven't seen this, if you're a fan of YMAS, you have to watch this video! 2.00-2.17 makes me smile so much! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3kTGiCChj4
  2. The Mixed Tape-Jack's Mannequin- This is the song that got me into them. I cannot wait to see them, so I've ever seen them before (unlike YMAS, this will be my 10th time seeing them!).
  3. Listen To Your Friends- New Found Glory- DUDE NEW FOUND GLORY!! These are my 2nd favourite band ever, and I've only seen them once, so I'm really happy that I'm getting to see them again. Def i the crowd for these!
  4. Last Summer- Lostprophets- Haven't seen these play in about 2 and a half years, so it will be great to see them again. And they are headlining Sunday in a tent which is going to be immense! I'm going for a welsh weekend!
  5. It's High Tide Baby-The Blackout- Even though they'e playing on different days, it would be awesome if they whipped out Ian from Lostprophets for this! More Welshies!
  6. I Don't Care-Fall Out Boy- Haven't seen them play in forever! Literally like 3 years! They always put on a good show, so this should be good.
  7. Lovely Bones-Kids In Glass Houses- I'm not sure whether they'll play this or not, but I damn well hope so! Another wonderful welsh band.
  8. Flux-Bloc Party- I'm not a huge fan of Bloc Party, but they are one of those bands who I would love to see live to see if they change my mind about them. So lets see if that happens this weekend!
  9. Rubber Lover-Marmaduke Duke- Such a good song! Should be interesting live!
  10. Every Me Every You-Placebo- Another band I would just love to see live...so I'm going to! I love this song as well!

Other bands I would like to try and see:

  • Kings Of Leon
  • Kaiser Chiefs
  • Funeral For A Friend
  • Madina Lake
  • Maximo Park
  • Enter Shikari
  • Brand New
  • Faith No More
  • AFI
  • Gallows
  • Gaslight Anthem
  • Broadway Calls
  • Billy Talent
  • Alexisonfire
  • Thursday
  • Set Your Goals
  • A Wilhelm Scream
  • L'Amour La Morgue
  • LAdy Sovreign (damn right!)

Ah so exciting!!!

Until next week!

Chilling In Tents Since '88! :)

Many things. Random things.

Lots of random stuffs to write!

1) Holy moly! Lostprophets' new song, 'It's Not The End of The World But I Can See It From Here' is revealed, through a recorded version. Listen it here: http://tunelab.com/2009/08/19/listen-to-the-lostprophets-new-single-its-not-the-end-of-the-world-but-i-can-see-it-from-here/
I absolutely love it, although many fans seem to be disappointed. It's definitely different from what they used to do but I like the heavy bass sound and the deep lyrics. I think the vocals are better than Liberation Transmission, too. Makes me more excited about the new album :)

2) Jesus. I can't believe that only six, SIX people said that they wouldn't assist Ronnie Radke in this forum: http://addictedtojane-wouldyouever2celebassistants.buzznet.com/user/photos/would-ever-ronnie-radkes-assistant/?id=56605451

and some ignorant person even said: "mmmm sexy. Of course I would. Who cares if he killed some kid right? Haha :p"
OH MY GOD. I am terribly shocked to know that this, this person is making fun out of a boy's life. This person, whoever this is, obviously thinks that murder is nothing serious. I am speechless. Thank you Ronnie Radke, for making teenagers like THIS. Since when did people care less about crime than some criminal musician who doesn't even say hi to his fans?

3) I am sad to write that another democratic former president of Korea died few days ago. He was the first South Korean president to cummunicate with North Korea and made better relations with them, which eventually lead him as the first Nobel prize winner in Korean history. Oh democracy, you shall sleep in peace.

4) I've listened to Lostprophets' new song at least 20 times. I think it's great.

5) Oh no. Back to school next monday! Arrrggghhhhh

Coup Physical Release, Tour, and You...

A few days ago I started thinking about what I wanted to do when the current NIN tour came to an end. I realized that it would be the perfect time to take The New Regime music to a live format and finally play some shows. To get some feedback on the prospect of touring I asked the following question via Twitter: "If I decided to tour with The New Regime in the fall, who would come?". I didn't exactly expect the reaction I got, but I was EXTREMELY pleased with it. So the next step was to figure out how to take this project that I started by myself and take it on the road continuing to things my way, DIY, and finance it all. Then I remembered all the times I had been asked "When will you release Coup on CD?" since it came out online last November.

The reason why Coup was released digitally was because it made the most sense at the time. Although I was proud of my first ten songs, I didn't have very big expectations for it. So spending money on 5,000 CD's that could've very well spent the rest of time sitting in my garage if no one liked it seemed like a real waste. Here's what I'm thinking now...

I'm thinking about putting together a really special physical release. 1 package, 1 price, with the potential following items (give or take):

-CD
-DVD with live performances, out-takes, whatever else I can scrape up
-Vinyl
-Booklet with live/recording photos taken by two of my good friends.
-Limited edition, Hand Numbered, and signed by me (if that somehow sweetens the deal?)
-Maybe some other goods.

I'm open to ideas which is where you come in.

All the capital raised from sales of this package will go to finance The New Regime on tour.

I'm completely thinking out loud here and want your input. By messages of sorts, tweets, emails, comments, emails, phone calls, morse code, whatever works, let me know who's into this. I want to get moving as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Ilan
