food, 14.40, and tv
Well its monday again. I actually don't have that much to say about this past weekend, it was very nice, but not particularly exciting. Friday night Maxine and I went to Michael's adorable apartment

for dinner. He made us pasta with this yummy onion/cheese sauce, and an artichoke (pictured!) and Maxine brought salad from Urth cafe, and I brought Peach beer and chocolate and cheese and bread, so it turned into quite a feast. Our orignal plan was to go exploring in Westwood, but we got involved in a long discussion in which we debated the philosophical implications of our lives, and how to find the missing pieces. If we'd been in a coffee shop instead of Michael's apartment and smoking cigarettes instead of eating chocolate, we'd have been very literary.
I didn't make it home til somewhere about 3, so I slept until my riding lesson saturday. Fun lesson, I worked on trot/canter transitions, which is important. Its frustrating though, I'm still not nearly as good a rider as I was when I stopped riding regularly last august. :-(
On the way home I was stopped at a traffic light and I took these pictures out the window of my car, because the view reminded me of the east coast:

Saturday night I had dinner with Angie at the Grove, and we caught up on all the stuff going on in each other's lives. Then she, Terri, and Max came over for a movie and snacks, and once again I ended up awake until 2:30 or so.
When I woke up Sunday morning around noon, I was certainly not in the mood to do anything, so I caught up on my tv. I watched the most recent episodes of Nip/Tuck

. I have to say, while this show is extremly well done, the plots are starting to get annoyingly far fetched for me. The character of James, who takes advantage of Christian's attempts to be a gentleman, really really annoys me. And Sean really annoys me too. You just know that everything he does is motivated by whatever sense of insecurity he has, and his need to prove himself as a man. So he keeps messing up, way worse than Christian in my opinion, and screwing everyone over.
I watched the penulitmate Venture Brothers for the season. That was fun. I also watched the most recent Grey's anatomy. I don't know why Addison is resisting McSteamy so hard. They're obviosuly good for each other. And I do enjoy watching Meredith get dicked over by the rivalry between McDreamy and McVet. The stuff going on with Dr. Burke really makes me sad. I hope he recovers soon and regains his spirit. :-(
I'm disapointed by today's pop culture news. There's not much going on, besides Paris and Nicole reuniting.

So I chose to catch up on my libertines/dirty pretty things history lessons today, and you'll notice that I put up the new video that Pete made this weekend. Supposedly, the song is called 14.40. The story about how he wrote it is already a legend. Apparently, this weekend after canceling all of his shows with Babyshambels, Pete got into a huge fight with Kate Moss. She kicked him out of her house, and he wandered shirtless, shoeless and in a torn jacket, to his literary agent Paul Roundhill's flat, where he recorded this song about her

oh in other music news: I just listened to the new Nightmare before Christmas songs. They did a good job. Fall Out Boy fans, you should make sure to check it out!
Tonight I'm going to take it easy...the rest of the week may be pretty crazy!
