Wrestlemania 25

Where to begin?
Today, April 5th, was the twenty-fifth anniversary of Wrestlemania. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., I camped myself out on the couch, wearing my Rey Mysterio t-shirt (which I bought a little over two weeks ago at Smackdown), to watch the coveted event on payperview. Of course not every part of it was good, but I'm going to focus on the highlights and skip right over the crap (you know I'm talking to you Kid Rock and Nicole).

C.M. Punk won Money In The Bank two years in a row, and I really could not be happier about it. He's one of my absolute favorites right now, and I can't wait to see him cash in that contract. Way to go, Punk.

Rey Mysterio had one of the most incredible entrances I've ever seen. The mask, the hair, the coat, the Joker cards...really, Rey, when will you ever stop getting more and more awesome? xD
Anyways, one number and one word sums up Rey's Intercontinental victory; 21 seconds. =D
Oh, and JBL, when you say, "I quit.", you better mean it. If you got my hopes up like this just to show up on RAW dressed to wrestle...Well, we're going to have problems, buddy.

Undertaker is now 17-0.
I was torn for that match, because I wanted The Phenom to keep his undefeated streak, but I also thought it would have been perfect for HBK to break it. Who better to end the Undertaker's 16-0 Wrestlemania undefeated streak than Mr. Wrestlemania himself? Because he didn't do it, I hope Taker retires as the only man to never lose a Wrestlemania match.

Jeff lost to Matt, though he dominated nearly the entire match until the very end. If he would've had just a little bit longer to revive himself, Matt wouldn't have stood a chance. I love both those guys, but Matt is acting like a fool right now, and so I have to be behind Jeff on this one. I just want them to beat each other half to death (which, if you were watching tonight, I think you'll agree that they did just that) and get over it. I'd love nothing more than to have them realize that fighting each other isn't worth it, and then come back as The Hardy Boyz.

The World Heavyweight Championship is back in the hands of it's rightful owner; John Cena.
That match was just pure insanity, and I can't even think of what to say about it.

Triple H just about killed Randy Orton, and I was loving every second of it. I cannot stand Orton or 'Legacy', and I'm sure they'll be in the ring tomorrow night to complain about something else. The Game did break one little rule at the end of the match, but Randy was going to do it first. If the belt gets taken from him tomorrow night because of DQ, I'm going to be a very unhapppy fan.

But out of all that stuff, the highlight was Stone Cold's final entrance.
I started watching wrestling with my dad before I can even remember. Our favorite was always (and still is!) Steve Austin. Wrestling really hasn't been the same without him since his retirement in 2003.
I'm glad he didn't talk tonight, because if he would've, then I would have started crying. He went out just how he came in; with attitude, destruction, and a lot of beer. xD

I think I'll be ordering Wrestlemania 26 next year.

Also, let me give a congratulations to Metallica for being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yesterday. It's about time!

Loved this journal, buddy. ;) You covered one part of Wrestlemania that I forgot to mention; Austin 3:16. I was busy giving a recount of the matches and forgot to include him. :( Ahh well, they'll just have to read your journal for that.

=D I wanted to go in depth on the matches, too, but if I would have started than I never would have stopped. And you would have been reading this journal for a minimum of five hours, because I would have made a full length novel out of it. Haha!
