New Song "The Cure" Online Now! Donate and Make A Difference!

Hello friends!

Today is June 21st, the first day of Summer, and we are happy to bring you the second song from the (a)fternoon EP. This song is called "The Cure" and it's a nice and lazy love song. We hope you enjoy its languid romance. While we are all still reeling over what we accomplished with Habitat For Humanity, this is not the time to slow down! We are proud to be partnering up with DonorsChoose.org, an amazing organization that employs a beautifully simple idea. With the mounting pressure on public school teachers to provide thorough curriculum, all the while having their budgets cut, DonorsChoose.org provides those teachers a forum online that allows them to request donations so that they can execute their methods of teaching to the best of their ability. How you can help is just as beautifully simple! By continuing to donate and download each new song at our website, whatismae.com, your monetary contributions will go directly towards those educational projects. Our goal is to fund one educational project in all 50 states and throughout this campaign, we will document exactly which projects are being funded and the difference that is being made in the lives of teachers and students all across the United States.

Please visit whatismae.com and make a donation. When you are done, tell a friend to do the same. If you haven't done so already, grab the Mae widget from our website and post it on your personal blog, Facebook, or Myspace profile. Make a donation and download "The Cure" here!

Love and thanks,
*mae

These Things I'll Never Say: Issue Number Six

Lyrics: Pictures of You by The Cure

I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
That I almost believe that they're real
I've been living so long with my pictures of you
That I almost believe that the pictures are all I can feel

Remembering you standing quite in the rain
As I ran to your heart to be near
And we kissed as the sky fell in, holding you close
How I always held you close in your fear

Remembering you running soft through the night
You were bigger, brighter and whiter than snow
Screamed at the make believe, screamed at the sky
And you finally found all your courage to let it all go

Remembering you fallen into my arms
Crying for the death of your heart
You were stone white, so delicate lost in the cold
You were always so lost in the dark

Remembering you, how you used to be
Slow drowned you were angels, so much more than everything
Hold for the last time then slip away quietly
Open my eyes but I never see anything

If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held on to your heart
If on'y I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart all my pictures of you

Looking so long at these pictures of you
And never hold on to your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true
And always just breaking apart, my pictures of you

There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart, my pictures of you

These things I've kept inside for so long now. I think I'm ready to give in. All those times you made me cry. I think I will let go tonight. Because all those times you said "I love you" it really meant nothing at all, to you. To me it meant the world and more, to know I had your hand locked in mine. To feel you asleep laying next to me, I thought I would always have you. I feel useless and worthless, like you never cared. I wish sometimes you wouldn't have. For now all I can see are those mean things you said and I hope one day I will forget. I am tearing the walls down, they're behind me now.

I'll remember that night, so perfect and clear. You were the only thing in my life. Because I miss you so bad and I need you so much, I fear I won't let this go. I "taught you how to fly and then you flew away from me." Tomorrow I will see that you always meaned something to me. For today I'll hide away. Loving all those memories.

April 28, 2009

and you finally found all your courage to let it all go.

back from my mini vacation to Florida. disney world was amazing. by far the most amazing time i've ever had in my life actually. i got to see Metro Station perform TWICE in one day, was there with my best friends and the boy of my dreams and i even got a start on my tan. i miss it so much. =/  i just wish some of that "magic" would have come back home with me..ohhh well.

i was really scared on the plane! i hate flying..

firework show at Magic Kingdom, everything they do there is so beautiful.

me and dani in front of the castle!

 awwwhz, i missed them!

this week is almost like back to reality. it's so hard to concentrate on anything anymore especially since we've been having 90 degree weather over here in Philly. summer is right around the corner and i couldn't be happier. sometime soon i need to go find a prom dress too, but that's the least of my worries..the only thing keeping me going this week is BAMBOOZLE! it's this weekend!

by the looks of this, it looks like my saturday is going to be VERY busy. i'm going to be running around all over the place. and then sunday the only band i NEED to see would be The Used. which is really nice because glamour kills is going to have a booth with their collaboration shirts with hanna beth and i need to grab some of that stuff plus jac vanek is going to be there with her own booth and i'll probably end up buying everything she's selling. not to mention the countless band merch booths that i have to stop at. busy busy busy. other then that though, nothing interesting coming up in the next couple weeks except..

hopefully this will work out! crossing my fingers.

if i can motivate myself more, i'll upload a disney album! sleeeeepy sleeeepy. night!

ohhh ps! i can't believe i forgot! look what i got..

my new tattoo! and i got my other one fixed! i'm so stoked to show bert this weekend!

Alkaline Trio, Lostprophets Cover The Cure

Why are British people so awesome? Not only do they have amazing accents and cutting-edge style, but they're totally into giving stuff away. Yup, that's right. Pick up the latest issue of NME (the one with White Lies on the cover) and you'll get an exclusive album filled with Cure cover songs. Wednesday, we're in love.
