Projekt Revolution 2008

So yesterday I got a surprise invite to the Projekt Revolution date in Tampa. Of course I accepted the invitation and waited anxiously for my aunt to arrive.

We got there around five fifteen, in time to see Ashes Divide. Although we did miss everyone on the seperate stage; Atreyu, Hawthorne Heights, Armor For Sleep, 10 Years, and Street Drum Corps. We were both really dissappointed that we missed Atreyu.

Anyways, we got our t-shirts. I got a black Linkin Park hoodie and a grey Projekt Revolution t-shirt. After that we found our seats and watched Ashes Divide. They were good, but I didn't know any of their songs. We only got to see them perform three though. I didn't get any pictures of them either.

Then The Bravery came on next. I personally don't care for them, and that kind of inhibited me from getting into their performance. I could never understand anything that came out of the lead singers mouth unless it was inbetween songs and he was just talking to the audience. The lead singer would also sometimes dissappear off the stage for a minute or two and then reappear and sing again. For a few songs he didn't play guitar and during those songs we were treated to his spazzy 'dancing' you could say. They were entertaining, but not the best live. But then again, that's my opinion.

After The Bravery, Chris Cornell came on. I didn't know many of the songs he was singing, but he had the crowd going crazy. About 3/4's of the way through his set, Chester Bennington (lead singer of Linkin Park) came and joined him on stage to sing one of the songs with thim. Needless to say the crowd flipped out. After that they played another song from Audioslave. Then they played the only song title I know, Black Hole Sun. I sang along, and had an awesome time. Chris ended up jumping out onto the crowd and crowd surfed around until security pulled him out. After that they played a few more songs before they left the stage.

After Chris Cornell we waited. You know how they have the number you can text and it displays the message on the jumbo-tron and stuff? Well, people were putting things like, 'SCREAM FOR MYSPACE' and then someone put, something like, 'Myspace is lame, scream for FACEBOOK!'. So, of course, I texted, 'Scream for BUZZNET!' but sadly it never came on, seeing as Linkin Park came on right after I texted it.

Anyways, Street Drum Corps came onto the stage and played a little as we all screamed in anticipation for Linkin Park to take the stage. After about two minutes they guys began to take the stage, one at a time. Chester was the last to take the stage and I don't think I've heard a more deafening, shrill, scream from my aunt (well, she did scream like that for 30stm, but it was a little louder...lol.). My aunt fangirls for Chester Bennington. Anyway, about half way through their set Chris Cornell came back on and sang with them. Which Chester then said was the best part of his day.

Here are some songs that I think I remember them playing.lol. The one's with the little (?)'s are the one's that I'm not positive about.

Papercut, One Step Closer, Points Of Authority, Crawling, By Myself (?), In The End, Forgotten (?), Pushing Me Away (?), Somewhere I Belong, Lying From Me, Easier To Run (?), Faint, Breaking The Habit, Numb, Given Up, Leave Out All The Rest, Bleed It Out, Shadow Of The Day, What I've Done, Hands Held High, No More Sorrow.

They had actually finished their set and everyone began chanting, 'Linkin Park!' or 'One More Song', I'm not sure which because when chanted they sound about the same.lol. Anyways, Street Drum Corps came out and played a little like they did in the beginning and then Linkin Park came back onstage and played two more songs before going back stage again. Then again, everyone was chanting again and Linkin Park came back on and played, but first their drummer, Rob, came and did a solo then everyone joined him to play Bleed It Out.

So, this was one of the best concerts that I've been to so far. Linkin Park is one of the best bands live, seriously :]

Yeah, Linkin Park has true talent, which I love in a band..sort of like 30stm. If they are good live and not just on CD, I'm 10X more likely to love them. :)

Linkin park is just awesome live! I saw them last year, and I didn't listen to them then, I knew a few songs. But after that concert I just loved them!
