The Making of a Wedding Card Box
Last week Dawn and I asked my Dad to make our Wedding Card Box for us. We both were not too happy with the boxes out there... you can only take so much pink fluff that it looks like a Smurf ate unicorns & marshmallows all day, then had a #2 and a #1.5 all over a shoe box, no thanks. So, my Dad has been busy all week tooling, sawing, and hammering... and that's just in the bedroom (ewwww)... sorry... I could not resist that one. Go Mom!
So here is some trash from an actual website that sells these things:
This wedding card box will be a beautiful accent for our wedding. It is essential for every wedding reception to have a wedding card box to hold the cards of their guests (show me the money).
This wedding card boxes will provide an elegant beauty on our reception table, um... it will crush the table and all that are seated at it... so... we'll just put it in the safe when we are done. Do people really put this thing on the table as if to say, look... look at all this cash. One word man, safe. Or maybe, bank? Hawaii, ah, I like that word better.
This card box has an eye catching design and can be one of the most talked about products at the reception, and I want to know if people talk about it, and what the frack, most talked about thing at the reception, are you kidding me... Yes, I agree, it is wonderful that my Dad is building it for us- that is love... but this website is a legend in its own time...
Aside from the beautiful look of the wood and details, what makes this wedding card box so unique is its personalization, as in made by hand, by my Dad - in his workshop- not in China. I heard Big Lots is getting into the Biz now.
I hope he will personalize it to include the our names and other relevant wedding information... names and date will be fine, please no lyrics to any Toto or REO songs...
Oddly, the perfect wedding box has become part of one of the fastest growing items in the wedding industry. For fracks sake.
Me and my Dad are so going into the biz.

I am still getting used to my new eye and glasses - so I can't drive, they've been chauffeuring me around town looking for wedding supplies, stuff for the box, stuff for the tables... and all this driving has cut into his 'box' time. The minute he gets home, he is in his shop in the basement working.
He is currently installing a gold plated key lock on it, and I think leather straps to lift it with, one on each side. No matter what he comes up with, we'll love it...
Don't the coins make a lot of noise?
