Remembering Friday 05 JUNE 09 - ALL TIME LOW

 On Friday June 5, was Jess's birthday and also the day I got to see one of my favourite bands, All Time Low on the Take Action Tour. This was my first concert and I was pretty stoked about it. I kept checking twitter non stop for ATL updates. 
I was so excited when I arrived at the venue, All Time Low was sound checking inside. While I walked up the path to the entry to wait for my friends, they left in a van, I was speechless, they were actually here and I was going to see them play live. My heart stopped for a beat as I watched them leave, (probably to go back to the hotel or something), I screamed with excitement inside.
When my friends arrived, I was super pumped and ready to rock. Some guy walked past and asked, "what's going on here?" I answered back "it's All Time Low!" in a really cheery voice. He was like "OK, I don't know them," with an "okay this is weird, i'll just walk away now" look on his face. Like I might've scared him or something. 
Once our moshtix cards were scanned and our hands were stamped. We ran upstairs, past the merch stands and into the "Manning Bar." We got spots on the left of stage, (the right for people on stage) where there were railings, which we ended up sitting on, but my mate, Michaela couldn't get on and actually fell flat on her face attempting, I got off to help her up, asking if she had concussions and headaches or something, it was all good and we ended up standing behind the railing. The opening act MaryJane Kelly was already playing, a bit too screamo for my likings but it was cool listening to different tunes.
Then Stealing O'neal was on, wooh an Aussie band, I only knew one song, "Chin Up Baby." Their other songs were pretty catchy too. I loved the way they moved around on stage and his action to hush people before the song ended. <3 
I went to buy ATL merch just before Set Your Goals were on. Hah I recognised VinnyVegas, ATL merch guy. :p american accents <3. As soon as we got back inside Set Your Goals came out, the mosh pit went crazy and the crowd surfers, started to crowd surf. There was still an hour till All Time Low was on, so we waited and enjoyed each Set Your Goal's song. After Set Your Goal's last song, the Manning Bar started playing Lady GaGa's - Pokerface while the crew we're setting up for All Time Low. Nobody was singing along except for my group, haha. How do you wake Lady Gaga? - You Poke-her-face. Then they played 3OH!3's - Don't Trust Me, "X's on the back of your hands" funny how we actually got marked with an X on the back of our hands. After that they played Check Yes Juliett by We The Kings, everyone started singing along to it, well most people. 'run baby run, don't ever look back...'<3 Then it was Paramore's - Misery Business, another song many people knew. Blink 182's - All The Small Things was played, followed by Dammit, love playing that song on Guitar Hero World Tour, 100% on Hard. :p 
Finally, All Time Low was on!! The crowd once again went wild, 'crazy ape shit' in Alex's words. The first song they played was Six Feet Under The Stars <3 it was so damn good live. Jack got heaps of bras chucked at him afterwards and he hanged them on to the really cool mic stands with a row of guitar picks stuck on it. I loved the yellow headbands they put on when they played Poppin' wish they threw it to me after. I've never heard the rock version of Jasey Rae so I was a bit confused at what song they were playing at first but then it just clicked and I just sang along like the usual acoustic version. I like both rock and acoustic versions. <3 Zack's fluro pink bass is 'shweet'! It kind of glows in the dark, I love it! Just before Alex started playing Remembering Sunday my friend, Laura yelled out "I love you, Alex" and he said "I love you too" back and she went beserk screaming "oh my god!" <3 good times! Haha Jack Barakat you're such a laugh! when Alex sang "now he's dying to get inside." you just had to do that action with your fingers. <3 Rian playing the drums when Alex and Jack we're trying to talk to the crowd..."it's like porn music... i'd get turned off if i heard that, cause all I would think of are my grandparents..." haha then Jack made us put our rude fingers up at Rian. hahah sorry Rian. The encore for Weightless and Dear Maria was dynamite! crowd surfers got onto the stage. It was one RAD first concert!! One of the best night's of my life, for sure!
After the show, my friends had to leave when I thought they were staying for a bit to meet All Time Low afterwards. I told my brother to come pick me up at 12 so it kinda sucked waiting there all by myself. Well I walked down to the driveway place where I saw All Time Low!! where many people were there aswell. When the security guards announced that the band had 5 minutes. Everyone went crazy! I mean literally pushing each other to get stuff signed and pictures taken. Well my goal was to hand Jack my card which I made, with my rap/rhyme and message to them inside. When I handed it to him, I was yet again speechless, I said nothing to him, I was just simply starstruck. Anyway he took it, had a weird look at it and handed it to someone which I think and hope it was one of their staff?! Well I left my buzznet URL in it and they haven't messaged back which doesn't really matter, all I wanted was for them to read my rap/rhyme, which I thought was pretty awesome because it was about them. I just want to know if they read it or not. Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries and I couldn't get any pictures, which sucked because while they were leaving, Alex kissed/squished his face on to the van window which was a moment which you had be there to see for yourself.
When I got home, I checked for ATL updates on twitter. I simply cracked up when I saw Jack's tweet. <3
It was one great night which I will never forget!
