The Umberto Veronesi Foundation
(Fondazione Umberto Veronesi in Italian, or FUV for short)
was established for the purpose of promoting scientific research.
It is supported by
scientists and researchers whose work is internationally recognized.
At the same time, the Foundation is also geared towards the diffusion of scientific
culture at all levels, in an endeavor to create a collective awareness of the choices
and problems that scientific research entails.
In order for this ambitious project to reach its objective, it is necessary to work in
synergy with the world of education, with existing research bodies
(both public and private) and with systems of information distribution
and exchange. Moreover, it is essential to continue at all times to seek
financial support from public and private organizations.
The Foundation aims to:
promote the development of a more science-based culture
develop research projects that are heavily science-based and are
attractive to scientists of every nationality
contribute to scientific development in the biomedical field
support medical and scientific training
promote research in developing countries
promote health campaigns
