Scott Weiland Clothing Line?

Apparently so!!!  I know I've been on sort of a Scott Weiland kick lately, but I think it's pretty understandable!  ANYWHOOOOOOooooooo....apparently he has been working with Christopher Wicks (I say that like I know who he is!) to launch a mens clothing line.  It will be called "Weiland" for English Laundry. He will debut it this February, the 17th to be exact, at the Magic Marketplace Tradeshow in Las Vegas!

OOoooooo....I can't wait to see what kinda stuff he will come up with!!!! :D

January 19, 2009

Friday ended with a huge shock

So friday I went to Austin to see Scott Weiland do a solo show. The day started off crappy pretty much, but ended with me crying all the way back to Dallas.

My stupid cousin woke me up at 5am because she claimed that she wanted to get up early, take her bath, and get out of my way because she knew I was going somewhere that day....Seriously why in the hell are you up at 5am when you don't have anything to do that day?!?!?! Well that's another story. I couldn't go back to sleep so I listened to music. Around 8ish I got up since it was pointless staying in bed. I was going to take the train to FT Worth to meet up with Candace. It was my first time so I was trying to make sure I got all the info I needed so I could met her in time. So around 11ish I'm sitting on the bus stop waiting on the bus, and it's late. Public transportation is going in so many way, but it can be a HUGE pain in the ass!!!!! So the bus shows up around 12:40 but the train left around 12:55. So I'm pissed and want to forget the trip, go home, and get some sleep. Oh and on top of that, once the bus is finally on the freeway, we hit traffic!!! Things weren't going go for me that day. I finally get to the train staion about 10mins after it leaves. Not to mention it cold outside, and I'm having nose issues. I though to myself, "Can things get worse?".

It's 1:20pm and a train arrives. I'm thinking that maybe the 12:55 one was late and that I'm making good timing. HA! Come to find out that it doesn't leave until 1:55pm. So I'm finally on the train. It was comfy and nice. I had my bus pass that cost $3, thinking that I could use that for the train. I found out as soon as the train leaves the station that I should have bought the $5 one. So I'm freaking out thinking that I'm going to get a $75 ticket for not having the right pass. Lucky for me no one checked for passes. About an hour after the train leaves I meet up with Candace and we're on our way to Austin. It was a fun trip. My knee usually acts an ass on road trips, but this time thankfully it didn't. So I'm thinking that things are finally turning around for me........until we get to Austin. I drank about three water bottles while on the train, and I had to pee really bad, but luck changed on me and we couldn't find a gas station with a bathroom. I'm looking on the window for a dark enough place to pee in, when we finally found one. It took about 20mins. Gosh that was the BEST pee of my life!!

After that, we decided to look for the venue, La Zona Rosa. I hadn't been to Austin since I was 8 yrs old, so if I had seen it before, then I sure as hell forgot. I called Netti since she's always in Austin, and she tried to help as much as she can, and we stumbled acrossed it. The venue was really nice. We started looking around and noticed that everyone was pretty much dressed up. I mean dressed to impress, like they were going to some fancy diner or something. Now I don't know about were you live, but here in Dallas people look like they just woke up at concerts here. I felt like I was in New York or something. I was really weird, and freaky. Why were your church shoes to a rock concert?

The first band (yeah I was shocked to find out there was an opening band) was Alpha Rev from Austin. They were really good. I was digging them and wouldn't mind seeing them again. Next of course was the guy I been waiting to see since I bought the ticket a month ago. It took a while for him to come out, but this time I wasn't as worried as I was when I saw STP last year, because we saw two tour buses in front of the venue. So I knew he was back there. He comes out in his three piece suit and starts singing stuff from his cds. I don't have either yet, so I wouldn't be able to give you any of the song titles, all I can say is that it sounded AMAZING!!!!!!!! Since I bought the ticket, I wondered if he would do any STP stuff, and not enough half way in the set I hear the intro to "Vasoline". I started jumping around, head banging, dancing, crying (yeah I know I'm a cry baby, SO WHAT), and singing. He also played "Atlanta", "Unglued", and "Interstate Love Song". At first, it was weird not seeing the other guys from STP, but the guys that played with him were AMAZIMG, and did the songs justice. It was really great. I didn't expect to hear any STP songs, I did wonder if he would do any, but never expected, and I was glad to hear them. The set was good, I wouldn't mind seeing he do another solo show again. Hopefully next time he will come to Dallas *fingerscrossed*(BTW the bass player was HOT!!!!!!)

So the show is over, and we're wondering if they will do a meet and greet with the fans, because it seemed like everyone was hanging around, so we did to. Not sure how long it took, but we saw the bass player so inside the bar that's connected to the venue. So after a while we go back inside and I get a beer and we sit down. I saw the rest of the band walking around, but I didn't know who they were so I was just waiting on Scott to show up. So I'm drinking my beer slowing, talking to random people around, and then I see him. Lucky for me, I didn't have any beer in my mouth so I didn't choke, I was just in awe. As soon as we saw he sit down, we were going to walk up to him and ask for a picture since we didn't have anything for him to sign, but decided not to since he was sitting with some woman and the bass player from the band. We wanted to be nice and respectful. Stupid us because everyone ran to him asking for pictures and autographs. So we're just sitting there looking at him and I'm damn near on crying my eyes out. So finally, after everyone is gone, we decided to get up and go over to him. Once we were at the table we were trying to figure out who's going to ask him for a picture. Now I just go up to someone and ask if they mind, but this time I couldn't find my voice. So this guy that was sitting next to us decides to ask. He didn't ask Scott directly, which I don't blame him, he asked the cute bass player. At first he was like no I don't think he wants to take a picture with anyone. Then Scott says the same thing. So I'm like ready to leave and go to the car and just forget about it. No the dude that was sitting next to us is still talking to Scott. Finally Scott says okay but make it quick. I'm still trying to find out what the hell the guy said the him. As soon as I heard NO come out of Scott's mouth I tuned everything out and was just ready to go home and sleep. So the guy that was sitting next to us gets a picture with Scott and I'm thinking that that's it since he was the one that was talking to him. Then Scott puts his freaking arm around me, and I'm ready to melt!!!!!! Candace and I got our picture with him too!!! I thanked him and he's like "Yeah" and walks out to the bus. I'm sure it didn't understand what that meant to me. I've listened to that guy since I was a little kid, so that was an EPIC moment in my life. I don't care if I never meet another rock star in my life, I'M A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!!!!!! By the time we get back to the car, I'm crying my eyes out. I still couldn't believe that that happened. And to this day I STILL don't believe. I know he really didn't want to take the picture, but something changed his mind, and I really appericate that. I wasn't going to make him take a pictuer with me, but he did and that will forever mean the world to me. THANK YOU SCOTT!!!!!!!!! and thank you sooo much dude in Austin whatever your name is for saying whatever you said to make him change his mind!!!!

Scott Weiland in Austin

So here what I remember about Friday night, January 16, 2008, aka THE DAY I GOT TO MEET SCOTT WEILAND!!! ;D

We started of in Fort Worth, I went to pick up Rachel (shatterdreams) at the train station and we headed to Austin!  It's about a 3.5 hour drive but it went SUPER fast with Rachel there to talk to!  So all the sudden we were in Austin three hours early, searching for a bathroom and batteries!

We found both...eventually and then went in search of the venue, NO THANKS TO YAHOO, we found the place and then parked and went to Spaghetti Wharehouse to eat, yummy, I LOVE that place :D

ANYWHOOOOO....no on to the concert!  The opening band was Alpha Rev.  An awesome band from Austin!  They seriously blew me away.  I was there to see Scott, but DEF came away a fan of this band. They kind of had a Radiohead sound.  They had a violinist that was amazing!  They had a pretty big sound, I just liked everything about them...did I mention the violinist?  Yeah!  They were good!

NOW!  On to the man of the evening.  About 30 minutes after they were supposd to start, Scott Weiland and company showed up on stage!  It was AWESOME!!!  I was in awe of the whole evening!  He came on and sang and danced, it was fantastic!  (All the exclamation points are necessary, trust me!!!!)  So pretty much he sang stuff off of "Happy" in Galoshes, his new solo CD.  But he also sang a couple of STP songs, Vaseline, Interstate Love Song, Atlanta and I think he sang another one...I can't really remember...I also think that he might have sang Mockingbird Girl, but I can't be for sure, I would have to ask Rachel to be sure...but that was how the concert went!  It was GREAT!  Scott sang and danced, unfortunately his shirt didn't come completely off.

So after the show was over Rachel and I were going to hang out, but they were kicking everyone out of the concert area.  We decided that we would go stand out by the bus.  We were there for awhile and no Scott, but the bassist (Who was super hot, me and Rachel both agreed on that) showed up.  He walked back into the bar, so we followed him, thought if anything we would get to meet him and that would be good enough.  This whole time, I HOPING we could meet Mr. Weiland, but I REALLY didn't think it was going to happen.

We go back in the bar and were kinda standing around.  The bassist was pretty much surrounded by people the whole time, so we kinda decided to chill out for a bit, Rachel got a beer, I was trying not to fall asleep (HEY! GIVE ME AN F-ING BREAK!!!  I was up at like 6 am Friday morning and at this time it was about 1 am Saturday morning, I was EXHAUSTED)  I was loosing hope pretty quickly.  We had pretty much decided after Rachel finished her beer, we would go. So we sat down on a couch and started talking to this guy.  After a couple of minutes Rachel grabbed my hand...I looked up and SCOTT WEILAND WAS IN THE FUCKING BAR!!! OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!!  I had NO IDEA what I was going to do.  I think that at first me and Rachel were going to go up to him. but we decided we would give him some space, he just put on a show!  Geez, let the man have a beer right?  NO!  He got himself a drink and ended up in a booth with the bassist and a couple of chicks.  Then a crowd of people descended on the booth.  I started loosing hope even then!  I was like, this isn't going to happen!  So we waited

After a little while I was like "Rachel lets go!" as in let's go to Scott.  We both got up and then when we got up there, I was lke "NOO!!! I can't do this" Seriously, I got SSSOOO nervous!  I just had ZERO confidence.  The guy that we were talking to followed us up there, there was still a bunch of people surrounding Scott, so we were kinda standing there.  From this point on it is kinda a blur.  I think that everyone at the table was getting irritated with everyone else hanging out asking for pics and stuff.  Somehow we ended up at the table and we got to shake hands with Scott and say hi, he smiled! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! Afterwards, I was talking to Rachel and we both decided that Scott had nice hands and they were nice and soft and not clammy or anything, they were great LOL!!!!

At this time, everyone at the table apparently decided they were going to leave the bar.  At first, when we asked for a pic, Scott said no, like I said there were tons of people standing around asking for the same thing and I think that the group was really irritated.  Then somehow, for some reason, the guy that we had been talking to on the couch stepped in and did some SERIOUS fast talking and managed to talk Scott into a pic and he agreed!  I have no idea who that guy was or what he said, but THANK YOU!!!!!

And just that fast it was over!  We were walking out of the bar and headed back to Fort Worth!!!  Also Mr. Weiland!  THANK YOU for taking a pic with us, you have NO IDEA how much that meant to a bunch of little fan girls like us, you totally made my day, week, month, year, LIFE!  LOL!!!  I still can't believe how great that day turned out!  It was a GREAT way to start off the year!

THE END!!! :D

P.S. Sorry for the rambling...It's just kinda how I remember the night going! LOL!!!

January 17, 2009

A random day of my random life.

I was supossed to go the cinema to see new the Brad Pitts movie but unfortunaly I didnt had time because we , my parents and I, took 2 hours to buy clothers and other stuff like wood for the fireplace. That is why I hate shooping , specially bras because its hard to find the ones I like and fit me. Serioulsy I dont need push-up or padded bras for god sakes -.- !!

But not all was boring and lame. I made the best buy ever today . I bought Core and Purple by Stone Temple Pilots for only 9,99 euros (something like 13.26 dollars , me thinks ) . It was buy 2 and pay 1 . How awesome is that ?Its was definitely one of the most glorious and epic moments of my life, musically speaking. *gosh I such a geek*

Sorry  for the random post but I felt like writing haha *failz* ^^

Hope everyone is having a good week end !

xo Raquel aka Anathepea

P.S : Stone temple Pilots fucking owns !

Edgefest 18 was.........

BRUTAL!!!!!!! I've  been in pretty bad mosh pits and seen it all at Warped Tour, but GEEZZZ!!! Regradless of all to burises, scrapes, cuts, drama, and insanity it still was an AMAZING show, even though it almost didn't happen......

The day started for me at 5a.m saturday morning. I woke up early because my "friend" was going to come pick me up so he can get his ticket from my other friend Netti who decide not to go. I live about 30 to 45 mintues from the venue and she live about 35 mintues from me, so I was going to ride with him so he could get his ticket. Well after getting up early, getting dressed, and canceling my original form of transportation to the concert he cancelled on my three hours before the concert. Needless to say I was beyond pissed. I partically destoryed my room, cussed him out, and started thinking irrationally about how to get, (yeah I planned on walking that distance and dying before I made it there). So I texted Candace to let her know that I wasn't going, and she text me back, being the amazingly kind person she is, saying that she would pick me up. I am forever in debt to her!!!

So we got to the venue around 10 something before the first band started. Drive A opening the concert. They're pretty good. I wanted to start a pit the whole time that they were play, but since this was a 12 hour concert I decided to save my engery for the bands that I really paid the $87 to see.

Saving Abel was next. I know one song by them, "Addicted", but didn't care to much for the set to really enjoy it, or maybe it was because I know that the next was Alkaline Trio and I was despaire for Saving Abel to get finished so I could see them again. Saving Abel reminds me of Nickelback A LOT. Not that that's a bad thing, but they're just okay to me. I dobut I would ever pay $20 or more to see them again.

Finally Alkaline Trio took the stage and I turned my camera on for the first time that day. I saw them over the summer and was blown away and became a bigger fan then was I already was. Their setlist included "Over and Out", "Calling all Skeletons", "Help Me", "In Vein", "This Could Be Love". They also dedicated a song to Jerry Finn but I can't remember the name of the song(sorry I don't have all their cds yet).

Next up was Seether. I'll admit that I was not big fan of theirs, until I saw them live and they play Nirvana songs!! They played "Im Bloom" and "Rape Me", which I though was pretty freaking good. I never though I would ever get a chance to sing along with classic Nirvana songs at a show and be amazing, but I really was. As far as their own songs, they basically played all their biggest hits, new and old. I was dying about their mic stands, and the lead singer's hair. I felt like I should have been at a McDonald's. I always say that I'm not a fan of a band until I see them live, well Seether you've won me over!

Papa Roach took the stage shortly after Seether. This was my first time seeing them, and their set was well worth the wait. The first song they play was "Between Intsects and Angels" which is my FAVORITE song by them!! I was close to tears. They also played "Forever", "Scars", "Time Is Running Out", "...To Be Loved", "Getting Away With Murder", "Broken Home", and a bunch of new songs off their upcoming cd. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play "Time and Time Again", but got over it quickly. I mean who could be disappointed about their set?

Rise Against was next and boy was I excited to see those guys again!! I saw them for the first time back in 06 at Warped Tour and they blow me away. I've been waiting paitently ever since to see them again. They started out their set with "Drones" and also play "Prayer of the Refugee", "Re-Educations (Through Labor)", "Ready to Fall", "Give it All", "State of the Union", "Chamber the Cartridge", "Behind Close Doors", and "Collapse (Post Amerika). I love how Tim goes from being this amazing frontman, moving around the stage, to shreding the guitar. The guy has serious talent!! I didn't realized how underrated these guys are here. RA is an AMAZING band, to me at least and don't get enough cerdit here in Dallas. I say that because people were just stand around, making comments about how they would be glad when they were finished, and some actually booed. I kinda felt like punching someone in the face. That could be the reason why they don't play here a lot :( I'll admit to standing around sometimes with my arms folded waiting for a band to finish that I didn't like, but I've NEVER hackled a band or booed them while they were on stage. I don't know I just think it's pretty rude, because regradless of what band is onstage whether you like them or not, they are still up there working hard to put on the best preformance that they can. I mean that's basically their job!! You wouldn't want someone booing you if you were onstage right? Oh well, they're still a kick ass group to me and I really hope that they will come back.

Drama happened before the next set. Some guy was either drunk, stone, or out of his mind and decided to put his hands on the rail were me and Candace was stand. Mind you, we were shoulder to shoulder in the pit. I'm not sure if the guy wanted our spot and decided to make things uncomfortable for us or was just out of his mind, but thanks to him I have serious bruises down the left side of my body from my arm pit to my hip. Finally security removed the guy because he was causing chaos for everyone around us. He kept coming back through out the rest of the show and they kicked him out of the concert for good.

Next up was the Toadies. Good ol' local music. I said so many times how the Toadies was the very first band I saw live and I LOVE them. It was my third time seeing them. They setlist included "Possum Kingdom", "Tyler", "Backslider", "I Come From the Water", "I Burn", "Away", "Happy Face", "Mexican Hairless", "No Deliverance", "Sweetness", "Plane Crash", and "I Am A Man of Stone". If you don't know about this band, look them up. You won't regert it.

Staind was next. Not a big fan of theirs and by that time I was in serious pain from being pushed, crushed, and shoved around. Not to mention being on my feet for the whole day. They played all their big hits, old and new, Can't really name any of them expect Mudshovel. Besides the pain, I was zoned out. I realized how close I was to getting to see Stone Temple Pilots for the second time and how close to the stage I was.

The Offspring played next. I was really excited to finally see them, but I was still zoned out and trying not to start crying. I can't remember what all they played expect "Why Don't You Get A Job", and "You're Gonna Go Far Kid", which is my favorite song at the moment. So I definately have to go see them again one day because I was too busy freaking out. With each song they played, I was closer to seeing the main band I went to see.

After the Offspring finished, it took FOREVER for the roadies and crew to set up the stage for Stone Temple Pilots. During this time is when I realized just how much pain I was in. I started to hyperventilate and panic because I just know that I was going to get sick. I knew that I was going to go into a sickle cell crisis, but thankfully I didn't and Stone Temple Pilots finally took the stage and the pain vanished as soon as the music started. As soon as the lights when off and they walked outm the tears came down and didn't stop coming down until they walked off the stage. I'm sure some people think it's stupid to cry at concerts and about things like that, but this is a band that I've been listening to since 1992. They were one of the very first rock bands that I ever heard, so it was really emotional for me to see them both times they came this year. This band has been through hell and back, and still stand strong. I admire and respect that band more then anyone will ever know. And I'm really passionate about music for some many different reasons. Their setlist included "Lounge Fly", "Sour Girl", "Down", "Interstate Love Song", "Big Bang Baby", "Plush", "Creep", "Big Empty", "Vasoline", "Sex Type Thing", "Trippin' On A Heart in A Paper Hole", "Wicken Garden", "Dead and Bloated", "Crackman", and "Sin". You know there were a few song that I wish they would have played, but to be honest they could have came out and not played any of their songs ans spent the hour play Barney's theme song and I still would have loved it!!

Even though it was the most brutal show I've been to, I still had an amazing time. I'm glad I spent the money to go and got the chance thanks to Candace. I mean I'll be sore for a couple of days and the bruises will last maybe a week or so, but I would have regerted not going and never would have forgive myself.

STP twice in one year???? What are the odds of that?

There's a local radio station that has an annaul concert called Edgefest. It suppose to happen in April every year, and it did this year. For some reason they are having another one this year next month in Oct. The lineup features Stone Temple Pilots, which you might recall me have a major fit because I got the chance to see them in June. NOW I just bought my ticket to see them again next month!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN YOU FRIGGIN BELIEVE IT????? STONE TEMPLE PILOTS TWICE IN ONE YEAR???? Seriously things like that don't happen to me, so I'm feeling really really thankfully right now!!!! To make matters a lot better, I got pit tickets!!!!!!!!! Up close and personal with one of the bands that started my obession with rock!!!!!! If you guys don't hear from me in a while that means that I've passed out from the excitement!!! The lineup also includes the following bands:

Main Stage:
The Offspring
Staind
Toadies
Papa Roach
Seether (not too excited to see them)
Saving Abel
Ashes Divide
Saftey Suti
Drive A

Second Stage:
Rise Against
Pennywise
Alkaline Trio
Hawthrone Heights
Gaslight Anthem
Emery
Aranda

I'm realy excited about the lineup. I'm not sure how they will do the second stage, hopefully it will be like Projekt Revolution where they did the second stage before the main stage, if not then I will have to miss the second stage because I want to be as close as possible for STP!!!!! I'm sure those bands on the second stage will be back, but when do you have the opportunity to see a legendary band twice in one year???

June 30, 2008

dreams do come true

Last night was a dream come true! I saw Stone Temple Pilots for the first time in my life!!!! Being a fan of the band since I was around five or six years old, and knowing their history and issues, I never though I would get the chance to see them live. That changed last night. They came out with "Big Empty", which is mainly know as the song from the movie The Crow, and played every hit you can think of. I cried the whole time, but hey who wouldn't?!? I also passed out when Scott took his shirt off lol, don't ask me why because dammit the guy still looks good okay. They also play "Plush", "Interstate Love Song", " Creep", "Vasoline", "Sex Type Thing", "Sour Girl", "Wicked Garden", "Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart", "Crackerman", "Unglued", "Lady Picture Show", "Coma", did a cover of "We Will Rock You", and ended the show with "Dead and Bloated". I'm not sure if I can ever go to another show, because this was just the perfect show!!
