Mariah and Miley Leave Panic at the Disco Feeling Down ... Way Down
This week's SoundScan report is full of movers and shakers. An old star returned to reclaim her throne, while a controversial young star made a bold move into the top 3. A Buzznet favorite continued its struggles,

Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey's 11th studio effort, E=MC², provided the pop singer with her strongest first-week sales to date, moving close to a whopping 463,000 copies to land at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week. Some artists transcend eras, and Mariah's ever-growing popularity is proof.

Miley Cyrus (also pictured: Miley's bra)
The biggest mover of the week was, of course, Miley Cyrus. Perhaps in reaction to her posting of risque photos on the Internet recently, sales of her Best of Both Worlds live album shot up nearly 30,000 copies over last week, helping her make the mammoth climb from #31 all the way up to #3. Meanwhile, last week's winner, former "X-Factor" contestant Leona Lewis, saw sales of her Spirit album remain strong – almost 95,000 sold – to secure her the #2 spot.

Panic at the Disco's Brendon Urie
I know, I know, you all want to know how Panic at the Disco did this week. Or maybe you don't ... sales of Pretty. Odd. were very mediocre, moving only 18,500 copies to drop the band all the way out of the top 20. Sitting at #25 is not the end of the world, except when you consider that the #24 spot is occupied by the Jonas Brothers, whose self-titled album has been out for a looong 37 WEEKS. Yikes.

Children of Bodom's Alexi Laiho
Finally, metalheads will be pleased to know that Children of Bodom's Blooddrunk, which TheReaper so eloquently reviewed, made a very impressive debut, selling close to 19,300 copies to give them the #22 spot. That's right – ahead of Panic. Ouch, Panic fans, beaten by an underground band.
