Hannah Montana sales sputtering; NIN dis SoundScan
Rejoice! Country bumpkin Alan Jackson will top next week's Billboard 200 with the release of his Good Time album, according to Soundscan. Most importantly, he has banished Janet Jackson to the dark depths of third place.
Luckily, NIN didn't join in the fight to claim the #1 spot.
Sales of Janet's Discipline are down 68% from last week, so it would seem that people purchased it, listened to it and told their friends not to buy it. Tales of this impossible feat will be told by country fans for eons to come!

In other tales of justice being served, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus saw a disastrous drop in sales as well! Could Hannah's 15 minutes of fame be coming to an end!?

The Nine Inch Nails camp has decided not to submit traditional SoundScan data, which would have earned them the top spot this week. The surprise release of the new NIN album, Ghosts, caused quite the stir in the music world and rightly so: the instrumental release was downloaded 781,917, garnering Trent Reznor $1,619,420 in a single week.
And say friend, do you like Flogging Molly or the Black Crowes? Apparently you're not alone, as their new albums debuted at #4 and #5 respectively.

Ohhh, twas quite a week in the Billboard 200, yes sir!
