Horray for the 90's!!
Lately I've been getting extremely bored with the music I'm listening to. Don't get me wrong, I still have my favorite's such as Uh Huh Her, Bat For Lashes, and Juliette and the Licks, but I really want something else, a new style.
So for christmas my moms boyfriend gave me a $50 iTunes gift card (I also got another $15 from somewhere else) and I decided to not spend it on what I normally would (except for LA ink season 3, shhhh)
So I got a bunch of female led groups and solo artists that I've been meaning to check out from the 90's.
So far this is what I've purchased:
Garbage by Garbage. Im listening to this right now and its fucking AMAZING. Ive always loved Shirley Manson but never gotten into her music, idiotic, i know.
Dry by PJ Harvey. I know Uh Huh Her got their band name from one of PJ's records, so thats what compelled me to check her out. havent listened to this yet.
Pretty on the Inside, Celebrity Skin, and Live Through This by Hole
I was listening to this stuff from around 10 last night to about 2 this morning. I think im inlove. Courtney Love is stunning on every track, and I love the vibe that each record gives off. I feel so ignorant only getting to this band now. Owell, better late then never.
If anyone has any other suggestions as to what to check out next, let me know. Ive still got $41.08, hah.
