August 23, 2009Kitten nap makes Amie Angry.
Some parts might not mak sense coz i wrote this at 2am 8) I put this here coz i needed to blog about something :]
So I went to my local shop today with 3 of my friends, and outside the shop was some emo kids :O shocking for where I live haha. So we walk in the shop then two of my friends realise they didn’t bring any money, so they walked away, I was like oh ok o_o I thought they went back home to get some money but they just went to the cash point and got some from there. So walking in the shop I get my usual *Oasis and Kerrang magazine* oh and my mother wanted me to get some brown envelops so I did. Paying for my stuff and it’s the girl that I dislike that is serving me *she always makes snide comments on what I’m wearing* so I pay and she say’s what she always does “would you like a baaaaag?” *even if you have about 20 items she always asks it* so I go outside and wait for my other friends to hurry up and pay. So we stand outside for a while watching everyone past by, The emo’s are still sitting in the corner, hah sounds funny. These 3 geek chic? Guys walk past into the shop, they looked like they should be apart of the sex pistols or some 80’s band. Anyways we walk to the field *THERE WAS SO MUCH WIND, I HATE WIND* and skip in the field, ha-ha, yes we are sad, We stay in the field for like 8 minutes and then leave. As we come out of the bushes my friend nearly got hit by a bike, hahahah she just stands there and the bike guy is just like “er..hello?” it was funny to me anyway :] / we walk back to my house so I can give the brown envelops to my mother. Then I think we walk to the park, we don’t go in it tho coz I cba. So we just sit on the gate lulz and take some pictures o_o haha. We walk away from the mighty park and go to the other other other park, ;] we walk in the road, cause that’s what all the “cool” kids are doing these days. And well.. This car comes round the corner and yells at us and swears and shit. It’s like take a freaking chill pill love, so yeah we talk about that moment for a bit then just carry on walking. Then we hear some music and shizz coming from this house like drums and stuff, then we see this boy and girl running off the bus and going into the house with all the music and shizz and I was like CAN WE GO COME ON LETS GO I WANNA GO C’MONNN LETSSS GOOOO. But like no one cared what I was saying “sad face”. We get to the park and just sit there for a while hah, interesting yes. We then make some phone calls to some lovely people we met online, saying hello and how much we love them. Creepy fan girls yeahh? Haha. Then I get handcuffed to my dear chum and it freakin hurt. Finally they take them off. As we are walking back home this kitten comes out of the bushes, it was so cute *_* and it really wasn’t old enough to be let out of the house but who am I to judge. So we all go home & then I get a phone call from my friends saying that they went back and got the cat coz it could be a stray. IT WASN’T A FUCKING STRAY CAT IT WAS BY LOADS OF HOUSES FFS. That really did make me so mad. They said that they are going to keep it in there garage till they take it to the rspca. I was like WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING? ARE YOU FUCKING 3YRS OLD OR SOMETHING, RARRRRRRRRRR. I’m getting pissed off with it lately, I wish that everyone would just grow the fuck up. I wish I had some real ass friends, who don’t peeve into my personal life & show off about things that I don’t have or try and be better than me at everything. Seriously there is no point at all. Just have fun. Don’t be a dick about everything. Anyway I don’t normally blog about anything or anyone, but I guess it’s a nice change and I can let all my feelings out I suppose. Im gonna be dead meat if anyone of them reads this, but to be honest, I really don’t give a fuck. So yeah, Hi I’m Amie and I get angry. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

July 1, 2009Sheena is a Punk Rocker but Maria's a Pop Punk: The History of Punk (1)1- Patti and Lou play with Dolls It was the early 70s, unconformity is in the air, New York is the promised land for artists, musicians, poets and anarchists, hip new clubs are full of new bands playing whatever they want; even when protopunk was never a cohesive movement, what ties proto-punk together is a certain provocative sensibility that didn't fit the prevailing counterculture of the time, it was different, it was temping, it was subversive, it was punk. None of the bands which music was important to stablish the genre on any of the 3 scenes (NY, London, LA) are not considered Punk nor Protopunk, they belong to other genres but time thanks all of them for their contributions; the most important bands in the New York scene were The Velvet Underground (art/experimental rock), Patti Smith (the godmother of punk. Experimental/protopunk), MC5 (whose guitarist Fred "Sonic" Smith [such an interesting and talented dude] was Patti Smith's one and only love, they were married until he died)(Hard rock), and the New York Dolls (hard rock, glam punk, protopunk). The London scene had some good bands too, at the beggining of the movement, Roxy Music (art/glam rock), The Who (hard rock) and David Bowie (mostly glam rock) were the most important people on the scene. Some people cite John Lenon's Plastic Ono Band as a big influence in the development of the British punk scene; also, nobody (as far as I know) mention them, but I think the early records from The Kinks were very important too. But the most important band if not at all, at least for the British scene was The Who; they were the first band with punk attitude, destroying their instruments on stage, and they wrote the first punk song of all times: "My Generation" This song was released on 1965 so tecnically it belongs to the 60's punk, this genre is called "garage rock" by most of the experts to avoid confusions with 70's punk, but "My Generation" is considered puk anyway. The invention of the term "punk rock" is generally credited to critic Dave Marsh who used it in 1970 to describe the group Question Mark & the Mysterians No, The Ramones and the Sex Pistols were NOT pioneers in the genre. Since none of these musicians are really punk, there's not so much left to say about them (by the moment and the circumstances, of course, we can talk days, weeks and maybe months about them) In the next part of these series of journals we'll discuss the boom of punk during the late 70s. Yes, that's the part where your beloved Ramones appear. Here are some videos from these amazing bands: This is why I think The Kinks are punk:
NO, the song is not from Van Halen.
This is a cover from Van Morrison, but it's a very important song on her career because it was her first single and it contains the phrase that will stay written on history as one of the best quotes ever "Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine" Patti was raised as a Jehova's witness and she hated it and the conformism that religions involve; she wrote that line to release her frustration.
This song was co-written by Bruce Springsteen.
This is the punkiest of all the videos, I think. The song is called "Personallity Crisis"
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it, I'll post parts 2 and 3 (and maybe 4, I'm not sure yet) soon. Meanwhile you can read about the history of Emo (1, 2 and 3) and how it was a really good genre. Related Groups:

October 27, 2008Cupcake Poisoning and Russell Brand.I was poisoned... by cupcakes! I haven't eaten in four days!!! Which, for me, is almost unheard of! S'a nightmare... I ate some contaminated cake mix and got pretty ill. According to everybody else, the cakes themselves are awesome, tastewise. Er, shame I couldn't eat them as planned... =/ So basically, a pretty rubbish week. However, this Thursday I get to see Ol' Russ again and I think I'm going to a Brand!Party as well, which should be pretty hurrah! I'll write how it goes, he's such a funny/nice/tall guy! ...Still can't decide whether Johnny Rotten of previous Sex Pistol's fame being in a butter ad campaign is a bit awesome or an utter punk-travesty...! All I know is that Harris Tweed is a pretty good look..?) xxx

September 17, 2008Guitar Hero: World Tour Steps up to Compete with Rock Band 2
I know I already posted about DJ Hero earlier today, but there's more news in the world of Guitar Hero: World Tour. It seems that, in order to keep up with the Joneses...or more appropriately, competing company Harmonix and their hit Rock Band series...Guitar Hero won't just be about guitars anymore.
Like Rock Band, World Tour will come with a drum kit and microphone and will also feature a redesigned guitar. Unlike Rock Band's four pad drum set, World Tour will feature three pads and two symbols in order to make it feel more realistic. They'll also have increased sensitivity, so the harder you hit, the louder the sound. And the redesigned guitars? The new guitars are especially impressive: there’s a touch-sensitive patch on the neck that allows for sliding solos and more realistic hammer-ons, which allows players to look more and more like Eddie Van Halen (but hopefully with better dental work). Along with all the new features comes a song list featuring 30 Seconds To Mars, Lacuna Coil, Tokio Hotel, Nirvana, Sex Pistols, blink-182, Linkin Park and more. But no Green Day. Sad for some, not so much for the rest of us. The full track list is available here. Keep in mind, Rock Band 2's still looking pretty bad ass, with a bigger track list featuring names such as AFI, Bikini Kill, the Offspring, The Who and Panic at the Disco. Plus, with their constant offering of downloadable tracks, the song library could hit 500 or more by the end of the year. So, what do you think? Where do your loyalties lie, Buzznet? Related Groups:

June 13, 2008Britney and the Sex Pistols?!WHAT??!!! That's what i thought too. But it turns out one of the old cranky farts of punk rock wants to work with Britney Spears. Yes, those two. Making music. A founder of punk f@#%ing rock, wants to write a song for Britney Spears. What has he been smoking?! No, it's not Sid Vicious (well duh), but the infamous Johnny Rotten who wants to collaborate with the distressed pop princess. "I haven't written a song for Britney yet but I would love to. I’d like to help out because there’s a girl who needs some help,” he said. “She’s been hurt. And hurt is the root core essence of good music.” Johnny's right about music stemming from pain. What do you think of the two working on the same song? Yeah, my eyes couldn't believe it either. It'll be up to my ears if Johnny gets his wish. I mean really? Johnny Rotten AND Britney Spears. For some reason I don't think their music togethor would sound like pop punk, if you know what I mean. And that's a good thing. I know some people are going WTF? WTF? at this idea, asking if Johnny Rotten has finally gone senile, but I can understand why he would do this. He's gone through similiar states like she has, fame, drugs, .. Johnny can relate to her troubles. Even though those two come from completely different musical origins - the very beginnings of punk, and she a teenage pop star, they do share troubles and erratic behavior. By putting his name with Ms.Spears, Johnny has guranteed that the Sex Pistols will get more than just the usual number of hits on the search engines. We'll just have to see if this happens!
The Sex Pistols are currently on tour, and recently played the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, their only US stop. For one of the first anarchists in punk, theyve been cashing in on alot of this. *sigh* In other news, Britney Spears is up for an Emmy nomination as a guest actress. Just peachy. ;)
