We all love bass players. They're often the coolest members of a band, less self-obsessed than frontmen or guitarists, more sophisticated than drummers... They're also too often overshadowed.
Creating this little poll I also observed that being tall and having a name beginning with a W helps to be a great bassist.

Sex Pistols singer Johnny Rotten has recently dissed Green Day claiming they have no future. He also claims that they have jumped on the bandwagon without having to work hard and that they smell like old Gorgonzola cheese in old boots. While the Pistols are known as one of the most influential punk bands of all time, Rotten has been in a few short-lived groups since he left the band in 1978, while Green Day are still one of the world's biggest bands. Do you think Johnny Rotten is jealous?

Safety pins, pink mohawks, combat boots, and padlock chains around your neck...all of these things you owe to the birth of punk rock and the street hooligans in the Sex Pistols.
