Friday ended with a huge shock
So friday I went to Austin to see Scott Weiland do a solo show. The day started off crappy pretty much, but ended with me crying all the way back to Dallas.
My stupid cousin woke me up at 5am because she claimed that she wanted to get up early, take her bath, and get out of my way because she knew I was going somewhere that day....Seriously why in the hell are you up at 5am when you don't have anything to do that day?!?!?! Well that's another story. I couldn't go back to sleep so I listened to music. Around 8ish I got up since it was pointless staying in bed. I was going to take the train to FT Worth to meet up with Candace. It was my first time so I was trying to make sure I got all the info I needed so I could met her in time. So around 11ish I'm sitting on the bus stop waiting on the bus, and it's late. Public transportation is going in so many way, but it can be a HUGE pain in the ass!!!!! So the bus shows up around 12:40 but the train left around 12:55. So I'm pissed and want to forget the trip, go home, and get some sleep. Oh and on top of that, once the bus is finally on the freeway, we hit traffic!!! Things weren't going go for me that day. I finally get to the train staion about 10mins after it leaves. Not to mention it cold outside, and I'm having nose issues. I though to myself, "Can things get worse?".
It's 1:20pm and a train arrives. I'm thinking that maybe the 12:55 one was late and that I'm making good timing. HA! Come to find out that it doesn't leave until 1:55pm. So I'm finally on the train. It was comfy and nice. I had my bus pass that cost $3, thinking that I could use that for the train. I found out as soon as the train leaves the station that I should have bought the $5 one. So I'm freaking out thinking that I'm going to get a $75 ticket for not having the right pass. Lucky for me no one checked for passes. About an hour after the train leaves I meet up with Candace and we're on our way to Austin. It was a fun trip. My knee usually acts an ass on road trips, but this time thankfully it didn't. So I'm thinking that things are finally turning around for me........until we get to Austin. I drank about three water bottles while on the train, and I had to pee really bad, but luck changed on me and we couldn't find a gas station with a bathroom. I'm looking on the window for a dark enough place to pee in, when we finally found one. It took about 20mins. Gosh that was the BEST pee of my life!!
After that, we decided to look for the venue, La Zona Rosa. I hadn't been to Austin since I was 8 yrs old, so if I had seen it before, then I sure as hell forgot. I called Netti since she's always in Austin, and she tried to help as much as she can, and we stumbled acrossed it. The venue was really nice. We started looking around and noticed that everyone was pretty much dressed up. I mean dressed to impress, like they were going to some fancy diner or something. Now I don't know about were you live, but here in Dallas people look like they just woke up at concerts here. I felt like I was in New York or something. I was really weird, and freaky. Why were your church shoes to a rock concert?
The first band (yeah I was shocked to find out there was an opening band) was Alpha Rev from Austin. They were really good. I was digging them and wouldn't mind seeing them again. Next of course was the guy I been waiting to see since I bought the ticket a month ago. It took a while for him to come out, but this time I wasn't as worried as I was when I saw STP last year, because we saw two tour buses in front of the venue. So I knew he was back there. He comes out in his three piece suit and starts singing stuff from his cds. I don't have either yet, so I wouldn't be able to give you any of the song titles, all I can say is that it sounded AMAZING!!!!!!!! Since I bought the ticket, I wondered if he would do any STP stuff, and not enough half way in the set I hear the intro to "Vasoline". I started jumping around, head banging, dancing, crying (yeah I know I'm a cry baby, SO WHAT), and singing. He also played "Atlanta", "Unglued", and "Interstate Love Song". At first, it was weird not seeing the other guys from STP, but the guys that played with him were AMAZIMG, and did the songs justice. It was really great. I didn't expect to hear any STP songs, I did wonder if he would do any, but never expected, and I was glad to hear them. The set was good, I wouldn't mind seeing he do another solo show again. Hopefully next time he will come to Dallas *fingerscrossed*(BTW the bass player was HOT!!!!!!)
So the show is over, and we're wondering if they will do a meet and greet with the fans, because it seemed like everyone was hanging around, so we did to. Not sure how long it took, but we saw the bass player so inside the bar that's connected to the venue. So after a while we go back inside and I get a beer and we sit down. I saw the rest of the band walking around, but I didn't know who they were so I was just waiting on Scott to show up. So I'm drinking my beer slowing, talking to random people around, and then I see him. Lucky for me, I didn't have any beer in my mouth so I didn't choke, I was just in awe. As soon as we saw he sit down, we were going to walk up to him and ask for a picture since we didn't have anything for him to sign, but decided not to since he was sitting with some woman and the bass player from the band. We wanted to be nice and respectful. Stupid us because everyone ran to him asking for pictures and autographs. So we're just sitting there looking at him and I'm damn near on crying my eyes out. So finally, after everyone is gone, we decided to get up and go over to him. Once we were at the table we were trying to figure out who's going to ask him for a picture. Now I just go up to someone and ask if they mind, but this time I couldn't find my voice. So this guy that was sitting next to us decides to ask. He didn't ask Scott directly, which I don't blame him, he asked the cute bass player. At first he was like no I don't think he wants to take a picture with anyone. Then Scott says the same thing. So I'm like ready to leave and go to the car and just forget about it. No the dude that was sitting next to us is still talking to Scott. Finally Scott says okay but make it quick. I'm still trying to find out what the hell the guy said the him. As soon as I heard NO come out of Scott's mouth I tuned everything out and was just ready to go home and sleep. So the guy that was sitting next to us gets a picture with Scott and I'm thinking that that's it since he was the one that was talking to him. Then Scott puts his freaking arm around me, and I'm ready to melt!!!!!! Candace and I got our picture with him too!!! I thanked him and he's like "Yeah" and walks out to the bus. I'm sure it didn't understand what that meant to me. I've listened to that guy since I was a little kid, so that was an EPIC moment in my life. I don't care if I never meet another rock star in my life, I'M A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!!!!!! By the time we get back to the car, I'm crying my eyes out. I still couldn't believe that that happened. And to this day I STILL don't believe. I know he really didn't want to take the picture, but something changed his mind, and I really appericate that. I wasn't going to make him take a pictuer with me, but he did and that will forever mean the world to me. THANK YOU SCOTT!!!!!!!!! and thank you sooo much dude in Austin whatever your name is for saying whatever you said to make him change his mind!!!!
