Hunter invents things for the government. He was recently laid off though. I heard the reason he was laid off was because of overuse of the same design. I personally thought that inventors were trained not to do that but, whatever. Hunter hoped to be back in a year or so and that was good.

Upon entering his lab he was too busy to notice me. I walked up behind him and watched him for a while. The thing, whatever it was, looked like some sort of high-tech futuristic weapon. Maybe it was top secret, maybe being laid off was just a cover, maybe the government was coming for me and was going to shoot me down. Haha, no. I don’t think so.

"Hey, how’s it going Hunt?" I asked casually. Hunter literally jumped like three feet in the air, and managed to almost take my face off with a hot welding torch.

"Whoa, what’s up with that? Why’d you scare me like thaht?" he said in a loud and startled tone. I shrugged.

"It’s okay Jade." he said hugging me. I gave him a funny look.

"That was weird." I said, still eyeing him. He began to giggle a little. It looked like he was holding back a lot of laughter. Sure enough he burst out laughing. He laughed so hard I feared that he would wake Davey, smith, and Adam.

"Oh Jade. Haha, that’s what I’m the master of! Weird is nearly my middle name for gosh sakes." he exclaimed. I smiled a little and looked at the floor again. He put his arm over my shoulder and faced me toward the machine that lay on the table.

"This is what I have been working on in my spare time," he said pointing at it, "I would love to test it. Do you want to know what it does?" I nodded my head yes.

"It’s an anti aging machine," he began, "it will make you whatever age you want, though I have some bugs to work out." he explained. I tilted my head in confusion. Hunter Gave me that look that says Yeah just cuz.

"It’s effects are only temporary." he finally admitted. I smirked an evil smirk. I had an idea. Davey’s birthday was coming up. Perhaps I should, I mean WE should give him a surprise.

So for the next few days, Hunter and I planned Davey’s "surprise." I couldn’t wait and before I knew it, Davey’s birthday was here.
