JaneSaysStage # 1

Those who've heard about the Vans Warped Tour would know what a Kevin Says Stage is. :) And for those who haven't, look it up. And this is my version of said stage. :)

For now I think I have a few artists I'd like to share. Some are unsigned. Some are signed. It's anyone and everyone.I just wanna recommend bands to people. It's another way for me to share music. :) My other way was to use it in the videos I make for school :D

1. Disco Curtis

Found them on Smartpunk.com. They're an Emo / Indie / Pop band from Dallas, Texas who formed in August 2008. The band's vocalist and songwriter Tanner Howe began writing some of the songs on their EP in early 2008. Basically, they just wanted to write songs that everyone can relate to. Originally a 3-piece band they soon added 16 year old Brendan Barone to complete their line up.

Their EP "Play With Fire Get Burned" was released just last September 26th. And personally, I find that their sound just completely blows me away! I'm hoping they'll get signed soon. Good luck to them! Look them up.

2. Runner Runner

Runner Runner is a 5-piece band from Huntington Beach, California. They play Pop / Rock / Electro. They formed together in March 2008 and since then have pulled together a mix of powerpop, electronica and pop rock music.

To the best of my knowledge I believe they have released 2 EP's. "Break Up To Make Up" which was released on September 23rd 2008 and "The Summer EP" which was released on July 5th of this year. Both are amazing EP's naturally. They're unsigned and that particularly surprised me.

They played the Vans Warped Tour this year at the LA date I think. And they will be touring this fall with The White Tie Affair, Every Avenue and Stereo Skyline. (All of which I listen to :p). Have a listen to them.

3. Scary Kids Scaring Kids (SKSK)

This post hardcore experimental / indie / rock band from Gilbert, Arizona was formed in 2002 and is still kicking ass! The band is composed of 6 members at the moment and are signed to RCA / Immortal Records.

They have toured with There For Tomorrow and Anberlin already and have played the Vans Warped Tour this year as well. And from what I read from the Vans Warped Tour Pit Reporter Tiffany Mink's blog, lead singer Tyson was MIA for the last 4 days of the tour. They say it was urgent personal stuff. SKSK still went on with the last 4 days tho.

Personally, what I like about this band is the unique way in which they blend keyboards with post hardcore music.

The last album they released was in 2007 and is self-titled. And now they're working on a new record. They haven't got any new show dates yet tho. :o What could this mean? Check them out tho.

That's it for now I guess. But I've news tho. Mayday Parade's new record "Anywhere But Here" has been released! Haven't listened to it yet. Not even streaming. I trust Mayday Parade tho. :) And I'm now totally in love with Paramore's new record <33 ANOTHER IMPORTANT NEWS I HEARD: TRANSFORMERS 3 WILL BE RELEASED ON JULY 1st 2011 ! aaacckk. I'll be in LA by then! WIN!

Warped Tour '09 in Montreal!

:D OMG. Warped Tour was AMAZING!! It did rain ( grr) but that's ok.

So, me and Vikki get there, we wait in line until they open the doors. So first thing we do is buy a shirt from The Maine. Then we go check the set times. We find out that Breathe Carolina is playing in like 30 mins so we run to the Smart Punk stage and wait. We were front row. (BTW, While we were walking to the venue, we saw Kyle from BC come out of his bus. We said Hi :D) So BC played and Kyle jumped in the crowd and did his thing. Then it was the signings at their booth. I drew something for them too. So I go up ask them to sign the front cover of their CD. Then I gave them the thing I made. I also wrote a note on the back. They really loved the thing and both gave me a hug :). The next band we saw was A Rocket To The Moon. Really good too. Then it was Attack Attack! next. Well, we missed most of their set because of the rain so we stayed with Breathe Carolina for 3 hours while the rain calmed down. My friend bought a BC shirt and sweater I bought a sweater cuz I already have a shirt (Kyle gave both of us hugs for buying the sweaters). We both bought the CD from Attack Attack! also. After spending 3 hours with BC we left because The Maine was gonna be on in 3 hours. We got some food during that time. It was kinda nasty... We had lots of time before their set and it was still raining so we went back to BC tent where they welcomed us :) We left again to go see Bayside's set because The Maine was next and we wanted from row which we basically got. Their signing was at 2:00 so we met them too. They was really really sweet especially Jared and John Ohhh. The Maine's set was awesome! They're sooooo good live! Right after The Maine's set, There For Tomorrow was playing so we went back to the Smart Punk stage. Again, also really good live. Then after they were done we ran to see Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Their set managed a mosh pit at which me and my friend stayed away from :P Then for us it was basically over. We went back to say Bye to David from Breathe Carolina and he gave us hugs :) I also bought the CD from The Maine because I don't have it even though I knew all of their songs by heart. My friend bought an Attack Attack! shirt too (I already have one), she bought a skateboard Vans Warped Tour one. Then we left and got lost coming back home :P

So all in all, probably one of the best shows I've been too thanks to Breathe Carolina <3

THERE FOR TOMORROW Halloween show 10/31/08

The journey begins with me leaving with my friend to drive the hour and a half to Worcester. There was minimal traffic and even if the show started at 7 I decided to arrive at 6 since it was my first concert with a press pass and everything. As soon as my friend and I saunter over to the box officer the lady checks my ID and says that I'm not on the guest list. What?? I mentally freaked out but kept my composure and called Karen (kron on buzznet) and she helped me out big time. My friend and I waited around outside the venue seeing people dressed up in ridiculous outfits and eventually was approached by a certain tour manager asking if I worked for AP. I told him I was there for buzznet.com and he immediately lit up and asked me for my ID and recognized my name. Turns out he had a dispute with his email and he apologized for everything and led me and my friend in to add me to the list, give me a press pass, and the two tickets I needed to get into the show. He was a saint, I tell you. I was so relieved because after I found out that I wasn't on the list I thought I was done for and I wouldn't have pictures for any buzzneters!

Getting to details about the show, I got to the side of the stage with security and was all amped for There For Tomorrow to start. I've listened to their music before and have heard and seen so many good things about them so I really looking forward to opening up the Halloween show. Oh yeah and I was so excited to see their costumes. When the lights were dimmed and the show finally started I dropped my macro lens out of excitement and it was totally embarrassing and awful. I rushed to put it away then scurried out to the area in between the stage and the barrier with another girl to get some killer shots. I noticed the lead singer Maika was dressed as a warrior samurai type of person with swords and everything, the bassist Jay was a caveman,  the guitarist Christian was the grim reaper, and the drummer Chris was Iron Man. They were so energentic and amazing, the crowd had their hands up in the air and were really enjoying their set. I would give you the songs they played but I'm not familiar with the names. HOWEVER, someone on livejournal was kind enough to give me the songs they played at their own show so here we go:

No More Room to Breathe
Deadlines
Waiting
Addiction and Her Name
Remember When (Used to be Used to It)
Taking Chances
Pages

I would have to say that the coolest costume was definitely Christian's, it looked like death himself was playing guitar and it was really awesome to witness yet really creepy at the same time. All their costumes were great, though! I was a little disappointed that Maika wasn't either Gerard Way or Joe Jonas like he had said in that one interview but he still looked as awesome as hell. I really enjoyed taking pictures of them and their set, after the first three songs I stood to the side and watched them continue to play. The lead singer of Scary Kids Scaring Kids kept sketchily walking out from backstage to where I was then into the venue so I got distracted for a few seconds since Tyson is my lover but overall: There For Tomorrow are AMAZING. I encourage you all to go to the Anberlin tour to see them play and you'll realize what all the hype's about.

Oh and I have more about the show. Before I rush into highlights I'll tell you about me meeting 3/4 of the band. The first one to walk out from backstage was Maika and a couple of us girls from press asked for pictures and everything and he was really polite and nice. I told him how awesome the show was and he showed a lot of gratitude. When I got my picture with him he totally held my hand! Haha total fangirl moment I guess?  I told him I loved his accent (I don't even think he has one I just couldn't hear anything) and he was kind of like "Oh, thanks..." haha. After that Jay walked out and I got pictures with him too, he's so tiny! In a good way, of course. He was very friendly too and then suddenly Chris walks out all buff and dressed as Iron Man. I told him how I got a million pictures of them that were awesome and he was like "That's great!" then took a picture with me and my friend. I probably saw them walk by a dozen times that night, I said hi to them every time and at one point Chris stopped and was like "Hey, how's it going?" and we talked for about twenty seconds then he had to go.

We were totally holding hands

This guy's my new BFFL

I am Iron Man!

Here are the highlights and more stuff about the other bands!:
- Straylight Run weren't dressed up! Someone yelled out "Where's your Halloween spirit??!" and in between songs John Nolan was like "Sorry we didn't dress up, we left that up to There For Tomorrow since they all look really awesome!"
- The keyboardist from Scary Kids Scaring Kids was acting completely INSANE. All he was wearing was underwear and was jumping around then got all into the audience. I was like holy fuck, this dude's amazing!
- During SKSK I went out to get a couple of shots since I'm OBSESSED with them and Tyson totally spit all over my arm. It was by accident but it was really disgusting, I hate when that happens!
- Again, during Scary Kids someone dressed up as a cow came out and threw out lollipops but I didn't get one.

Yeah so, nothing on Anberlin because I had to leave and get home and wake up for SATs in the morning! It was a bummer but I had a really amazing time and got some awesome pictures. I really hope all of you go through my gallery and marvel at the half-naked awesome-ness and I hope y'all had a great Halloween just like I did.
Thank you so much, Buzznet and to everyone else that made this happen for me!

- Sarah D.

Sadness can't be forgotten.

Today was horrible, thats all there is to say. One of my best friends Cody moved to Newfoundland..thus, all of my friends and me might never see him again. Which led to 4 or 5 girls crying and about 9 or 10 guys acting strangely out of character and being extremely quiet. I'm really going to miss Cody, he was one of my better friends and one of the..well one.. who wasn't hyper, all the time. My EX-boyfriend Jordan will probably take it the worst though.. him and Cody have been best friends for as long as I have known Jordan, and now that Cody is gone.. Jordan is sort of left with Luke..who isn't the most exciting person.. or coming to hangout with me and my friends.. which he probably won't do because two of his other friends had a crush on me and my friend Amy. Lots of people were trying to make us forget and such, but as the title says "Sadness can't be forgotten"  so I spent most of my day with my friends Amy and Kohl..listening to music(slipknot, scary kids scaring kids, chiodos, etc.) Which didn't really help considering most of the songs we listened to were sad..fitting the mood..it's not like we could instantly forget about him just like that. Anyways so basically today was not very exciting, sort of a quiet day..hopefully it will be a little better by tomorrow.
