'My City Screams...' Do You?
Billboards with the slogan "My City Screams..." have beem popping up all over Los Angeles. Are they an attempt on the part of city hall to reach out to its citizens?
For the uninformed drivers driving down La Brea Ave. (at 3rd St.) or up Vine St. (at La Mirada) seeing a large black, white and red billboard with the saying "My City Screams..." wouldn't mean a thing.
But for Frank Miller ("300," "Sin City") fans everywhere it is a sign that Lionsgate is taking the marketing to this newest movie by the genre-twisting filmmaker to a whole new level. Miller's latest project,"The Spirit," is due out in theaters January 16, 2009. (That's a full eight months away!)
Adapted from the legendary comic strip, "The Spirit" is a classic action-adventure-romance. It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as the Spirt to fight crime from the shadows in Central City. The movie stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Scarlett Johansson and Paz Vega.
