I am excited as hell to have been invited to this event and will definitely do a recap of the night when I am fully recovered.  This is an amazing push for our culture in the mainstream so it's awesome to be able to be a part of history in the making ;)!  As with any networking event, the EGP will be mentioned, so stop the bickering and proceed with the passion of making a difference in this world!!!!

FIRST ANNUAL FILIPINO AMERICAN VISIONARY AWARDS

WHAT: First Annual Filipino American Visionary Awards on Friday, March 7 at the world famous Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.  For the first time in history, entertainers and performers from the Philippines will gather together with Filipino American talent in a celebration of achievement and contribution of Filipinos in the entertainment industry. 
 
This unprecedented historic event is being produced by NuVision Worldwide Media, LLC and fully integrated production and multi-entertainment company is involved in international as well as mainstream music, films, soundtracks, videos, live events, concerts, promotions sales and marketing. In addition, NuVision is committed to assisting the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California [see www.pmsnc.com] with its current and future medical missions to the most indigent and below poverty communities in the Philippines.  As recently as this past week, the PMSNC sent over 200 medical practitioners --- doctors, nurses, medical technicians, etc. --- to Davao in order to provide medical aid to the families most in need of care.
 
Among the evening’s awardees are Philippine based entertainers  Dolphy, Sharon Cuneta, Bea Alonzo, Christopher de Leon, Richard Gutierrez, Marian Rivera & DingDong Dantes (from “MariMar”), Francis Magalona, Manny Pacquiao and Martin Nievera.   They will join an invited guest list of American based entertainers who will be receiving recognition including Lou Diamond Phillips, Tia Carrere, apl.de.ap, Cheryl Burke, Cris Judd, Dean Devlin (producer, “Independence Day”, “The Patriot”) and Rob Schneider.  Add to the evening’s entertainment a slew of stellar performances, and “The Visionary Awards” will be unlike anything the Hollywood community has seen.
 
The production will be taped for telecast at a later date in March of KSCI-TV Channel 18.
