Weezer Tackle R.E.M., Psychedelic Furs; Three 'Pork and Beans' Singles Announced
Weezer will release three different singles for their highly successful new song, "Pork and Beans." The best part is ... each single will feature a different cover song as the bonus track.

You can get your greedy little hands on all three singles starting Monday, when the singles drop overseas. According to NME, the band will be kickin' it old-school with two 7-inch versions of the "Pork and Beans" singles. Speaking of old-school ... Weezer will cover rock legends R.E.M.'s song "Oddfellows Local 151" (from 1987's Document) on one single and new-wave act The Psychedelic Furs' song "Love My Way" (from 1982's Forever Now) on the other.
For those of you without a record player, Weezer will also be releasing "Pork and Beans" as a CD single. A cover of "Are 'Friends' Electric?" by Tubeway Army (a.k.a. electronic-music pioneer Gary Numan) will serve as the B-side for this version of the single.
Weezer's video for "Pork and Beans" has been receiving rave reviews and Weezer guitarist Scott Shriner recently chatted with Buzznet about the clip, saying, "it was really insane and surreal."
Meanwhile, Weezer is currently traveling across the country on its Hootenany Tour. These shows are private and only contest winners will be able to attend. These 100-200 winners per night have been invited to jump onstage during Weezer's performance to play any instrument of their choice.
Weezer released their sixth full-length, The Red Album, earlier this month.
