Reflecting on Buzznet

Reflecting on Buzznet

I've been thinking about my place on Buzznet lately, and I have come to one thought.

Why is it that this website seems to feed off negativity? I post a blog about Audrey Kitchings (lack of) modelling ability, and I get 140 comments. I post a heartfelt song and I get maybe 2 comments.

I recently came across someone who had a rant about the featuring system of Buzznet being stupid that I liked, so I added them and left a note explaining why I wanted to be their friend. They didn't even bother replying or commenting on any of my posts. Yet I saw this same person take the time to leave a comment of criticism on a very stupid person's shitty post.

We all like to talk the talk, and complain the sky is falling here, and complain about leaving and bitching. But so few of us here walk the walk. And get off our asses to try to encourage decent, positive, posts. Instead they leave buzznet, and this site looses another contributor of worthwhile content.

I want you to think of your comments as votes. By commenting on someone's artwork, story, poem, photo, you are voting for that person. Sending them a message that you support their content.

Don't give shitty posts time of day. Like a politician who doesnt get re-elected, if you dont vote for them, they will go away. IF all the bulletins yesterday showed anything, its that if we all stick together we can send a very strong message about what posts deserve a place on Buzznet.

I think I need a break from this place.

I definatly see where you are coming from. Lots of negative comments on here.

It's sad, but sometimes I think it helps people cope. Not sure why, maybe it's because this is semi-anonymous? Maybe because they don't get to do it in real life? I really don't know.

I'm also not sure there is too much that can be done about it either. Sad day.
yuppy. im with you,my friend =)

oh no...please dont leave =( you are one of the coolest person in this site! i need you and your artworks...=]

Would you marry me please !?
Whoever that person you left a note on and never responded, perhaps he/she was busy looking and commenting on other "more important" posts and overlooked your friendly gesture? Give another chance, and if you still have no response, then that pretty much is your solid answer...
A break is inevitable from time to time, but don't break for too long ;)

It's so sad when that happens =(
It's too bad that negativity attracts more attention than positivity =(

I Have no oppion on this as i am not a regualar Buzznet user, yet i have been using a it a lot more because of the real people, the Constructive Critsisum, and just the general welcomness from the nice users,Unlike a certin overrated site i am accostemed with. i no this is a bit off topic but i just had to say it
*shrugs
But a bit more on topic, this goes back to the old saying if you have nothing nice to say dont say any thing at all, obviously these certin people didnt learn this lesson

I know what you mean, If someone leaves you a note or message or whatever you reply, at least only for courtesy. I have given bad comments, but they were only to defend my friends. But I hate that kind of people who searches for photos of people they hate and talk shit there, I mean, you don't like Audrey Kitching you wrote a journal of what you think of her, and that's ok! because it's YOUR page and you can do whatever you want, but you don't go to Audrey's page and bash her. That's what some people does not understand...

If you need some time out of Buzznet, then do it. Whe all do eventually. Just, come back soon...ok? =)

I think that people people like controversial things. The same thing happens with me. Journals I pour my heart out in get comments from my close friends but then silly blogs like "R3asons 2 typ3 lyk3 dis" get a hundred. I have no clue why! It takes just as much effort to write a comment on those things as the others. Buzznet features things that appeal to the masses.
