Reflecting on Buzznet
I've been thinking about my place on Buzznet lately, and I have come to one thought.
Why is it that this website seems to feed off negativity? I post a blog about Audrey Kitchings (lack of) modelling ability, and I get 140 comments. I post a heartfelt song and I get maybe 2 comments.
I recently came across someone who had a rant about the featuring system of Buzznet being stupid that I liked, so I added them and left a note explaining why I wanted to be their friend. They didn't even bother replying or commenting on any of my posts. Yet I saw this same person take the time to leave a comment of criticism on a very stupid person's shitty post.
We all like to talk the talk, and complain the sky is falling here, and complain about leaving and bitching. But so few of us here walk the walk. And get off our asses to try to encourage decent, positive, posts. Instead they leave buzznet, and this site looses another contributor of worthwhile content.
I want you to think of your comments as votes. By commenting on someone's artwork, story, poem, photo, you are voting for that person. Sending them a message that you support their content.
Don't give shitty posts time of day. Like a politician who doesnt get re-elected, if you dont vote for them, they will go away. IF all the bulletins yesterday showed anything, its that if we all stick together we can send a very strong message about what posts deserve a place on Buzznet.
I think I need a break from this place.

It's sad, but sometimes I think it helps people cope. Not sure why, maybe it's because this is semi-anonymous? Maybe because they don't get to do it in real life? I really don't know.
I'm also not sure there is too much that can be done about it either. Sad day.
oh no...please dont leave =( you are one of the coolest person in this site! i need you and your artworks...=]
Whoever that person you left a note on and never responded, perhaps he/she was busy looking and commenting on other "more important" posts and overlooked your friendly gesture? Give another chance, and if you still have no response, then that pretty much is your solid answer...
A break is inevitable from time to time, but don't break for too long ;)
It's too bad that negativity attracts more attention than positivity =(
I agree though... All the negativity is overuling.
It makes my tummy sick =(
*shrugs
But a bit more on topic, this goes back to the old saying if you have nothing nice to say dont say any thing at all, obviously these certin people didnt learn this lesson
If you need some time out of Buzznet, then do it. Whe all do eventually. Just, come back soon...ok? =)
