Blood Stained Porcelain
Blood stained porcelain
Tear stained face
Hearts are crushed like tin
Unraveled lace
A sign stands at the door:
Please remove your masks
There is no pretending anymore
Forget what your life lacks
Shame you didn’t listen
You hid
Your eyes now glisten
Like they never did
Flowing locks of fire
Greedy eyes of green
You thought you would never tire
Naïve sapphire Queen
I don’t blame your hesitance
To let the light in
But dear, why didn’t you dance
It’s not the worst sin
You stood in front of love
It wanted to sweep you away
Even after a gentle shove
You chose your place to stay
I don’t blame your fear
It’s scary sometimes to dance
I know nothings crystal clear
But you stood there in a trance
Waiting
The figures danced before you
Fading
Like they usually do
So now you stand here
Crying and alone
In this empty ballroom
Chilled to the fragile bone
They still dance before you
Blurs of black and white
You never knew
You were turning down chances in fright
Knowing you were only alone
You grabbed your bag and fled
The depression had grown
So in the bathroom you bled
Knowing you were only alone
You grabbed the razor and bled
Finally the spotlight shone
The debutante is dead
