Povo que lavas no rio - Amália Rodrigues

Amália Rodrigues was the most famous singer of Portugal and her genre fado (a traditional portuguese music)which is a type of music that is capable of giving you goosebumps, specially with it is this woman singing. During her life she performing all over Europe, in the United States, Brazil and Japan. She died exactly 10 years ago and I'd like to make a small tribute to a woman that with only her voice gave so much to my country :) This song is one of my very favorites but I recommend you to check these fellows links too:

She has a really nice voice, reminds me of some of our own singers from that time :)

Yes, her voice was really nice indeed. Lots of fado singer try to sing like her. They all have amazing and strong voices but Amalia had such powerful emotion while singing that they rest are put in the corner.
