Protests Outside My Bedroom Window

featured Protests Outside My Bedroom Window

There was a HUGE protest just outside my window today. About 10,000 people* and a ton of cops. Apparently there was some violence, but it wasn't visible to me. I was in the middle of doing a photo shoot, with a model, a make-up artist and her friend who assisted, and we stopped mid-way to watch the drama outside. At one point, it started to snow.

I called up several London publications to see if any of my photos could be used, but they probably won't be after all, since there wasn't any fire or violence in them. (I found out about that later.)

PS: Note the pair of legs on top of the phone booth in the second photo. I *really* didn't notice it until now... I was too distracted by the Soviet flags.

*Update: News reports are saying it was more than 100,000... All I know is that there was a constant stream of people going by my window for hours.

I was already confused about the Soviet flag... but now I'm really baffled about the Welsh one. What on Earth does Wales have to do with the Gaza Strip??

I think there is quite a big Palestinian population in and around Cardiff - there was a demo there the other day too.

Quite possibly. Though I imagine just to keep from falling off, he'd have to have a pretty sturdy stance. Especially since it was still icy.

They have been protesting here also.......This is a very unsettling thing to have right outside your apartment. It's good that you kept busy with the photo shoot.....Just about every country is getting involved with these problems in the Gaza Strip the Middle East is a powder keg. My dad was in Jersulem in WWII before there was an Israel...He took lots of photos of some of those places I'll have to scan them and post them........Great photos : ]]]]

Masses of people are always impressive and scary.

These were definitely the best of the shots. Still so terrible that there's a reason to protest in the first place.
