crappy haiku movie review of the week - the royal tenenbaums

as we all know, there's no shortage of movie review sites out there on the web. but who among us hasn't longed for movie reviews in the form of really crappily done japanese poetry? i know i sure have!

so once a week, i'll be dedicating a journal entry to a movie review in the form of a really crappy haiku.

what you probably don't know about this week's movie is that director wes anderson originally envisioned it as a superhero/sci-fi/action/comedy/drama, and was going to call it the royal xaviers. anderson and co-writer owen wilson's first draft screenplay was about a trio of gifted young mutants who grow up to become disillusioned adults after their professor abandons them as teenagers: there's wolverine, who must learn to love again after a bad breakup and having adamantium fused to his skeleton; storm, who slowly realizes that lightning isn't always the best way to settle disagreements (though it's usually the quickest); and rogue, who suffers a devastating identity crisis after absorbing too many people's powers and personalities. sadly the project was shelved when anderson was unable to convince gene hackman that dressing up as a troubled southern teenage girl with a white stripe in her hair would be total oscar bait. oh, what could've been, hackman...what could've been.  - it's the royal tenenbaums!

p.s. feel free to hit me up with any suggestions, and you might just get to see one of your favorite movies summed up in a really crappy haiku...

'Fantastic Mr. Fox' In Theaters November 13

Hollywood has been struggling for ideas lately, turning toys like Stretch Armstrong and Viewfinder into movies, solely to cash in on childhood nostalgia... And although this idea is far from original, it's a definite upgrade from the prospect of Asteroids.  It's ok to cash in on my childhood as long as George Clooney and Meryl Streep are involved...

crappy haiku movie review of the week - zoolander

as we all know, there's no shortage of movie review sites out there on the web. but who among us hasn't longed for movie reviews in the form of really crappily done japanese poetry? i know i sure have!

so once a week, i'll be dedicating a journal entry to a movie review in the form of a really crappy haiku.

this week's movie exposed the inner workings of the gritty, high-stakes world of male modelling - in much the same way that the silence of the lambs showed that the life of a psychopathic serial killer isn't all sex, groupies and canibalism, and you got served showed that...um...serving people...is like...um...actually, you got served had no point - it's zoolander!

All in the family - Celebrities

1 → The Baldwins

We've got Alec, William, Stephen and Daniel Baldwin on this list, and how could they not be? These guys from New York have made names for themselves in the acting world.

2 → Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen & Emilio Estévez

I never knew Emilio was related to the Sheens! The last name does the trick, eh? He didn't take his father's last name due to wanting to gain success by himself and it happened.

3 → Goldie Hawn & Kate Hudson

They're both blonde and share the same smile. Infact, they both won the 'Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture', Hawn's movie was 'Cactus Flower' and Hudson's was 'Almost Famous'. They have never been in a film together.

4 → Bruce & Brandon Lee

Bruce Lee was known for his marital arts work on film and his son, Brandon, was best known for playing Eric Draven in 'The Crow'. Tragically, after Bruce died in 1973, his son followed 20 years later. Many theories have been made about their untimely deaths.

5 → Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen

They are the ultimate give-in. Next!

6 → John & Joan Cusack

Most of the Cusack family has been interested in the world of movies. They each have their own claim to fame, but have no problem working together on film. Together, they star in 'Martian Child', 'Cradle Will Rock', and 'War, Inc.'.

7 → The Wayans Brothers

Keenen Ivory, Marlon. Shawn and Damon Wayans started in the acting business since the 80's and 90's. They've been a part of both sitcoms and movies; 'Blank Man', 'Scary Movie' series, 'White Chicks', 'Little Man' and more.

8 → Angelina Jolie & Jon Voight

He became a star in the 1970's and she got her first leading role in 1995 in the movie, 'Hackers'. The first film they starred in together was 'Lookin' to Get Out' in 1982. He played her father in 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider', but since then, she has estranged herself from her father and they currently still aren't in touch. The funny thing about these two is that Voight and I have the same birthday and people tell me I look like Angelina. Whack!

9 → Luke & Owen Wilson

First came Luke, then came Owen. They both starred in 'Rushmore', 'Bottle Rocket', and 'The Royal Tenenbaums' together.

10 → Jake & Maggie Gyllenhaal

They're siblings in real life and played brother and sister in the 2001 film, 'Donnie Darko'. Did you know Jamie Lee Curtis [who also comes from famous parents] is Jake's godmother?

Gossip For The Day

Citing Wikipedia:

At 12:10 p.m. on August 26, 2007, Owen Wilson was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, by ambulance. Initial reports cited the reason as dehydration, however it has been reported that he was discovered with superficial wounds to his wrists and a near-empty bottle of pills in the bathroom of his Santa Monica home, by his older brother Andrew.  Andrew called 911 at 11:59 a.m. Wilson was later transferred to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, where his condition was described as serious, but later upgraded to good condition. On August 27, 2007, Wilson issued a statement: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

Yep, folks. I woke up to the radio this morning, and a couple of minutes later, this was a news bulletin. It's an understatement to say that I was shocked. My thoughts go out to him, and I hope he recovers soon.

Renee Zellwegger: Perhaps known more for her constantly shrinking frame rather than her acting...here's more (column) inches for her: http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h61/cetrimide/Renee_468x753.jpg

Pete Wentz: Has combined Clandestine Industries with DKNY, to create a rather hot range. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised :]  http://www.dknyjeanspromo.com/clandestineindustries/

Ville Valo: Has since left rehab for alcohol-related problems. I wish him all the best.

and on the subject of alcohol...Laura Bates: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=478126&in_page_id=1770

Stupid, stupid girl. She had liver failure, and was given 12 hours to live. Luckily, she was giving a life-saving liver transplant. Less than two weeks later, she carries on drinking alcohol. I'm sorry, but what f*cking retarded person does that?!? I'm a recovering alcoholic, and have done a lot of damage to my liver over the years from alcohol and pills. Does she have a freaking deathwish or something?! Wake up and smell the ground six feet under, hunni.

That's all for now

xoxo

high school is boring and seemingly pointless. it is remotely interesting to just i guess people watch. to see how people can be brought to some of the stuff they do. i've really gotten into books lately and music even more. i guess it's an escape and i like where i go. well anyway there has been no more fire alarms...yet but i'm sure since i've said this there will be one tomorrow.damn karma.erggg..

soda machines have gotten me mad lately.like almost everyone i've used doesn't work for me. what did i do to the soda machine, huh? but you know what if they want a war that's what their gonna get.i'll swear of soda machines,ha that's it. who's with me? i will not surrender.....yet atleast XD

in other news apparently owen wilson tried to kill himself.not succeding of course but by slitting his let wrist and overdosing and some shit. he's suppossed to be a happy comedian, what's wrong with the world?!?
