Aerosmith are my definition of a rock band. I am happy to announce that this summer the band is getting some deserved recognition with their own edition of Guitar Hero that will be available for the computer. Thirty songs have been chosen out of their catalog that dates back 3 decades. Having a whole Guitar Hero dedicated to one band is a great idea! Who should be next?
The Wombats want us to Dance to Joy Division and oh so recently retro bands have come back into fashion. Maybe its because your parents listened to them, maybe its because your favourite band of the moment rate them. Or, maybe its because you heard them randomly for the first time and fell in love. So which old school musicians do you rate? If your inspiration is missing - add it in the comments box, I cant name them all!!
We all have a band that we credit with igniting our passion in music. It may be the Beatles the Rolling Stones or more recent bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers or Nirvana. Question is...... can bands of the moment stand up and survive as Icons of rock? In 10 years time will the youth of the future be naming Fall Out Boy, Paramore and 30 Seconds to Mars as thier ultimate musical discovery? Have My Chemical Romance got what it takes to ride the wave of instant popularity and become an inspiration for rock bands in years to come? Or not? Im relying on you to tell me what you think:
Today's live performers like playing it safe. There needs to be more of an edge. Both Nirvana and Green Day are known for rocking the stage and then destroying it. Watch the videos below for proof and decide -- who are the masters of stage destruction?
