MLR mobile living room

MLR (mobile living room)

This is a project i've been working on for a while and I finally finished it this weekend. It a product of many things i've been thinking about in american culture recently - suburbia, SUV culture, TV and entertainment, mobility, modernism, efficiency and energy. Its kind of like a large piece of furniture that is actually a transportable room. Its made of 8 panels that interlock and form the space. Inside are a couch, a table, and a TV, which are the typical ingredients for a living room. Its materials are the same as typical house construction today. While it is a 'mobile object, its very inefficient to actually move it, yet it lets you get your entertainment fix anywhere... indoors or outdoors.

HUGE thanks to Seth, Shane, and Neil for working with me to complete it, and especially Seth for helping me move and assemble the beast.

My band AtlAtl played our last show on sunday and it was amazing! I set this up in the front yard of the place where we had the show - the $100 Taco. It was a big hit and evryone was hanging out in it and talking about it. We also had a vegetarian chili cook off, arm wrestling, bike rides, a book sale, 4 square, and i played my last show with my other band, Damezumari. It was the most awesome show ever and it made all the hard work totally worth it.

**If anyone is interested in buying the MLR, let me know. Or if you are willing to come get it and move it, you can have it.**

This is awesome Hawk. I didn't know you were into mod/prefab architecture. Very cool. I've actually researched and written quite a bit about all aspects of prefab and manufactured housing. This is an awesome example. Soon, they'll be selling this at Target. I'm serious. Target's already playing with something similar on their website. Cheers! and Congrats. This really is cool.

Bravo! This is so cool. when i was a kid I used to camp out in the back yard. something like this would have been a dream... of course the affordable and practical applications of this stretch wildly beyond my childhood. Glad you had good, last rock shows. why no more rock? cuz of school in cali?

Congratulations, the future is now! Have you seen the "metroshed"? I visited the "breeze house" last may, and the "glide house" the year before. They all save money but are not cheap. I especially like the first two because the modules can be combined in different configurations or sizes.

your band name is the coolest EVER!!!!! And so is your living room. Can I buy one and hook it to the back of my car so whenever I get tired of driving I can just kick back in there?
