November 17, 200917th November 2009Ooh, I am in such a great mood, despite not having the greatest day haha. Mmm, I ate way too much today. Eugh! Tomorrow I'm going to Manchester to see Beyonce, again :) I'm so excited ha, but suprisingly I actually think my dad is more excited than I am, bless him :) & I have booked my You Me At Six, We The Kings & Forever The Sickest Kids tickets! EE! And, most importantly, it's only 3 days until New Moon! EEE! But I'm so annoyed I have to go to the 9:15pm showing because that means people are going to see it before I do and for some reason the thought of that makes me feel furious haha! Oh god, I won't be able to contain my excitement on Friday.
You can't see them that well because my webcam isn't that great, but I wanted a picture ahhaha! How do you feel about The Twilight Saga? Love it or hate it? xoxo

July 8, 2009If you're not a Manc, you're a wank!I had an amazing time up in Manchester. I went to stay with my friend Jordan and his family, they are all so lovely and I had the best time! I arrived Sunday afternoon and we went for a walk in the countryside near his house. It was so beautiful and peaceful, a complete change from the hectic ways of my London life. That evening I went to dinner with his entire family (2 brothers, parents and nan) and their family friends (2 sons, a daughter, parents) out to a lovely private golf club with a beautiful restaurant and terrace where we sat outside as the sky grew dark. It started thundering at one point but luckily we didn't get caught in any rain!! Monday we went into the city as I had a shoot with a photographer there. The studio was based in Affleck's Palace which is just the coolest place ever! I can only describe it as a better version of Camden all based in one building.
The photographer, John Clarke, has a studio there on the 3rd floor called Resurrect Studios. He's pretty awesome! We went outside to shoot too but it started raining so we only got a couple shots. I also managed to rope Jordan into a few but we couldn't stop giggling!!!
Jordan & I - isn't he the cutest? Anyway, we spent the rest of that day exploring the city and meeting up with a couple friends from uni. Tuesday we spent chilling as we were both exhausted for some reason! We went for a long walk though which was lovely, and then hid from the rain and watched the memorial service for Michael Jackson. I got back this afternoon and now I have to pack to go to Norway for 2 weeks! I leave tomorrow afternoon and the weather is forecast to be rainy and a little chilly. What a bummer! I was looking forward to staying in our summer house by the sea (it has it's own private beach) but that's all now rendered useless isn't it? Although I do fancy a swim in the rain if it's warm...
Send the fireflies to sleep... xoxo

June 20, 2009Day 3 recap - Cobra tourSo... where was I? Oh yes, Manchester date of Cobra Starship tour. When I last wrote, Lola and I were in Glasgow and looking forward to FLYING down to Manchester in the afternoon. Duty free at the airport was too expensive for us to buy anything on our limited tour funds but I managed to talk us into a whisky tasting! So we tried a few single malts before heading to our gate where Lola freaked out over our plane being tiny. However we got to Manchester in one piece and headed straight to the venue, after an outfit change of course. Once we were there we gave Vicky-T the prettiest cupcake in the world as she'd been feeling ill that day. Apart from London, the Manchester venue was the biggest on the whole tour. Hero from Mimi Soya joined Sing It Loud on stage for the first time to do some guest vocals and we all danced like mad to Cobra's set, it was a definite party atmosphere. Pat Brown from Sing It Loud whacked his face with his guitar (or was it his microphone?) and had to rush to A&E (the ER to Americans) to get his chin patched up. Ryland did a good encore and had people throwing things at him. After the gig everyone went to the bar next door where the music was very loud but there was a good selection of drinks. I recommend dark rum and ginger beer. Taasssty. Gabe blew spit bubbles at Lola, Pat Brown turned up looking ok after his trip from the hospital, people requested songs which never got played, the drummer of Mimi Soya got very drunk and apparently fell asleep on the stairs! And then we fell asleep in the car on our way to a comfy bed.

March 4, 2009Justine is a busy bee...
...although not quite as busy as Lola.
As a post-birthday treat I have almost a full week of shenanigans planned, including taking a trip to Paris and London with Lola. Here's a little run-down of what I'll be up to over the next 7 days: Wednesday 4th (today): T-shirt painting and sleepover at Lola's. Thursday 5th: Travel to Manchester for a Fall Out Boy gig, with Kids In Glass Houses and Hey Monday supporting, followed by another sleepover and inevitable squeaking about FBR bands. Friday 6th: Travel back to Leeds, start packing for Paris/London. Saturday 7th: Actually pack for Paris/London as I always do packing at the last minute. Train down to London and cinema trip with a friend. Sunday 8th: Get up bright and early to catch the Eurostar to Paris with Lola. Day in Paris - I have my eye on the flea markets. Monday 9th: Second day in Paris. Spending most of the day photographing Haunts, with Lola interviewing them and then Haunts + White Lies gig in the evening. Tuesday 10th: Morning in Paris then Eurostar back to London. Afternoon in London and photographing a Jack's Mannequin gig in the evening. Wednesday 11th: Morning in London then train home. Good times :)

February 24, 2009When Justine met My Chemical Romance...
I'm sure by now everyone's hyperventilated over My Chemical Romance's comeback, including the video for Desolation Row... And i'll admit that I'm more than a little excited to see what they'll come up with next as I'm perched on the very edge of my seat, waiting for news of a tour, an album, a single.... anything!
It did get me thinking about all the good times I've had with that band before - all the gigs, the secret shows, the meet and greets, and the time I watched them whizz past me on the back of a buggy at a festival (think of a golf cart without it's canopy, holding 4 grown men clutching instruments and heading in the direction of Gerard who's standing on top of a hill, waving his arms). One little snippet I'll share is from when I was lucky enough to interview the band in 2005. Myself and 5 other fans were picked by Kerrang! magazine to interview My Chemical Romance before one of their gigs in Manchester, England. We were ushered into a backstage room and seated in a row, facing the band members, before being allowed to question them for over an hour. As you'd expect, it was amazing. Little moments: - My friend Jo asked My Chemical Romance if any of them could touch their nose with their tongue? Most of the guys replied "no" straight away but Gerard decided to try it before giving an answer and sat there sticking his tongue out, trying to make it touch his nose! - Someone asked My Chem what they'd been listening to recently and Gerard said the new Mars Volta album (which must have been De-loused in the Comatorium at the time), Ray said a lot of Morrissey and The Smiths and admitted that Gerard and Mikey had got him into them, and Mikey said Say Anything. - My jacket was exactly the same as one of Mikey's. Although he wasn't wearing it then, he did recognise my jacket as being the same as his and got quite excited about it, exclaiming "hey, she has the cool jacket!" as soon as he saw me. It's from H&M, can be seen in the group photo below and we worked out that his was a size SMALLER than mine! - Frank and Gerard enthused about how hot Jared Leto is. Seriously. Frank talked the most and said he's not usually attracted to men but there's just something about Jared Leto... I seem to remember the phrase "he's just soooo sexy" being used. And on that little nugget of slash-fiction-inspiring goodness, I'll leave you with a couple of photos: ![]() Yeah, I'm in the middle, with my little chubby cheeks. Justine x Please note that the group photograph was taken by a photographer for Kerrang!, James Sharrock, and therefore the copyright belongs to him and/or the publication.

December 12, 2008Friday is one of the best days of the week!Out into Manchester tonight- perfect excuse to get glammed up! so, run down- dark eyeshadow- check, false eyelashes- check Hair products- check, outfit.... oooh. Now thats where I have a problem. I have no clue what to wear!! eek!! oh, well, im sure ill find something to wear in the 6 hours I have before I actually go out... haha. No idea where we're going, but probably will make it up as we go along! anyone else out in Manchester tonight?? It really is a good night if you've never been, though wouldve loved to have gone to the hacienda when it was in full swing... but that would mean I would have to be 50ish now. Oh well. Id much rather be 21.
