Out of Ashes

Out Of Ashes releases October 13th. You can download the albums first single, "Crawl Back In", at digital retaliers around the net right now, an pre-order the album from the official website, Amazon, iTunes, and other sources. Use this widget to access the world of Dead By Sunrise to it's fullest extent. :D

Is anyone else as excited for this as I am? I've only heard two tracks so far, and already this is sounding like one of the best albums of the year. It's definitely making my top five! If you haven't listened to it yet, take 30 seconds to preview now so you can fall in love with Chester's new project, too!

Lita Ford Gets Naughty

LITA FORD GETS NAUGHTY ON WICKED WONDERLAND,
TITILLATING ALBUM ART REFLECTED
ON MYSPACE PAGE AND VINYL/PICTURE DISC VERSIONS

Remember the good old days, when you’d rush home from buying vinyl at your nearest record shop, put the platter on your turntable, and study the album cover and its contents as you listened? With those days seemingly gone with the “download revolution” in full swing, Lita is willing to offer fans a good sense of deja vu with her upcoming release on October 6th, Wicked Wonderland. In addition to being released as a CD and a download, it will also be issued as a vinyl record and an eye-popping picture disc. Pre-orders for both the CD and the vinyl version are available via Lita’s official site [www.litaxx.tv] and Myspace page [www.myspace.com/litaford].

“We told [album designers] Piggy D and Carin the lyrics to the songs - they’re very sexual,” says Lita. “We told them we didn’t want it to be our idea of a Wicked Wonderland. We wanted people to be able to hear the music, look at the art, and come up with their own Wicked Wonderland. Because my idea is probably a lot different than yours, which is probably a lot different than the neighbors! We all have different fantasies. What we love to do isn’t going to be for everybody, so we wanted the art to be very sexual yet vague enough to let you come up with your own thing - to help spur you into your own Wicked Wonderland.”

Lita’s husband, Jim Gillette - who also co-produced Wicked Wonderland with Lita and Greg Hampton - agrees. “There’s a piece of art for every song. I haven’t seen any packaging like this in 20 years. Everybody’s doing the download thing - it’s like, go ahead, but you’re going to miss out on a huge part of the experience. One night, we had a bottle of champagne and we sat there for three hours - we have a huge Apple screen in our studio, and we blew the picture up and started finding all this crazy stuff. Piggy said there are two cockroaches on the album cover...we only found one – we did find the other! There’s stuff all over. Lita says it’s almost like an ‘I Spy’ thing - the more you look, the more you see.” The vinyl version of Wicked Wonderland will be issued as a limited run, and the picture disc will be even a smaller limited run, so act fast.

And tying in with the album cover design is a new design for Lita’s Myspace page. “Piggy D and Carin Cronacher put it together using the same artwork that they created for the album,” explains Lita. “Our myspace page is different from other bands, because we have pictures of the whole family. There’s a video of our kid boxing, there’s family photos - photos from the house, everyday life, vacations. It’s cool - we’ve gotten a lot of comments on that and a lot of emails through Myspace from people thanking us for being so open with our family life, and sharing more private stuff - rather than only studio-type shots.”

And lastly, Jim encourages fans to get in touch with Lita through her myspace page, and either Lita or Jim will try and respond.

Search and Win

Cheyenne just referred me to the most amazing website ever, called Swag Bucks.
It's a search engine powered by Google and ask.com, where you simply search the net using either a Swag Bucks homepage or toolbar, and you earn Swag Bucks to trade in for merchendise from your favorite bands, entertainers, sports teams, etc. Prizes include T-shirts, CD's, books, posters/prints, patches, jewelery, etc.
And did I mention that it's completely free?

Come on, kiddos. We all use search engines. But only Swag Bucks will reward you for your searches with internet money that you can trade in for real prizes. You can join as many search and win sites as you want using the same account for all of them.
So far I've joined two: Chester Bennington and WWE. If you're interested in using either of them, I would greatly appreciate if you used the banner below to do so. It'll get me a referral Swag Buck. :D

For anyone who is interested in finding out what other entertainers have their own Swab Bucks site, go to www.swagbucks.com.

Lyrics: Me Versus Me

Hey there...here are the title track lyrics from our upcoming EP entitled Me Versus Me. A firm release date is coming soon. In the meantime, you can download Me Versus Me for free in the downloads section of our website.

Me Versus Me

Black label warning
About time you come back
There is only time enough to fight
Switch back, you lost us
Holy night, you should drive
I was waiting for your silent cry

Not much for makeup
Straight shifts or shakeups
Feels like I'm waiting all the time
I'm underwater
Strapped down to red lights
Everything I told you was your own advice

No one looks the same here anymore
We sleep in different places every night
You never said you wouldn't come back up
To waste away in brilliant, perfect light
To sign your soul away on dotted lines
You never found a way out

Everyone is searching for heaven

Me Versus Me EP Album Art & LP Release Date

Hey friends...grab a chair. Let's talk.

Summer is coming quickly, and we're really looking forward to our upcoming West Coast Tour. While the details of the tour are being finalized, we're making it a point to get reacquainted with every song on our upcoming LP Good Hands Bad Blood so we can work each song, at different points, into our set list. We cannot wait to get out on the road again.

Release dates. Release dates. Release dates. We've been getting a lot of questions lately regarding this as of late. Many of you may already be well aware that we have an LP release date coming in June. (You've been so wonderfully patient.) However, in our desire to make this debut LP as special as it can be, we've ran into a delay.

We need to push the release date (for the very last time) to August 4th, 2009. This kills us as much as it kills you but there are a lot of things cooking on the TCT stove. And this release date will give us more time to tour, and to get all the album content exactly how we want it.

On the positive flip side, we will be filling this early summer music void by releasing a brand new EP entitled Me Versus Me in June. It will feature our first single, Me Versus Me, and two wonderful B-Sides (that we had the hardest time leaving off of the LP). We promise, you won't be disappointed.

This Song

Has so much meaning to me. I just love how it can evoke so much emotion and so much thought about our world today.

HANDS HELD HIGH
Turn my mike up louder I got to say something
Light weights step to the side when we come in

Feel it in your chest the syllables get pumping
People on the street they panic and start running

Words on loose leaf sheet complete coming
I jump in my mind and summon the rhyme, I'm dumping

Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in
Sick of the dark ways we march to the drum and

Jump when they tell us that they wanna see jumping
Fuck that I wanna see some fists pumping

Risk something, take back what's yours
Say something that you know they might attack you for

Cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before
Like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for

Like this war's really just a different brand of war
Like it doesn't cater the rich and abandon poor

Like they understand you in the back of the jet
When you can't put gas in your tank

These fuckers are laughing their way to the bank and cashing the cheque
Asking you to have compassion and have some respect

For a leader so nervous in an obvious way
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay

And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
In their living room laughing like "what did he say?"

[Chorus:]
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen

In my living room watching but I am not laughing
Cause when it gets tense I know what might happen

World is cold the bold men take action
Have to react or get blown into fractions

Ten years old it's something to see
Another kid my age drugged under a jeep

Taken and bound and found later under a tree
I wonder if he had thought the next one could be me

Do you see the soldiers they're out today
They brush the dust from bullet proof vests away

It's ironic at times like this you pray
But a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday

There's bombs in the buses, bikes, roads
Inside your market, your shops, your clothes

My dad he's got a lot of fear I know
But enough pride inside not to let that show

My brother had a book he would hold with pride
A little red cover with a broken spine

On the back, he hand-wrote a quote inside
When the rich wage war it's the poor who die

Meanwhile, the leader just talks away
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay

And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
both scared and angry like "what did he say?"

[Chorus x6]

[x6]
With hands held high into the sky so blue,
As the ocean opens up to swallow you.
