Katy Perry wouldn’t be Katy Perry without her penchant for contradictions. Perry recently claimed she’s had it with her hard-partying ways, saying, "My motto has always been: live life to the full because at the end you're dead. But I'm starting to mellow a bit. I still believe in taking risks in my music, but I've realized that I can't party like I used to and expect to remain focused on my work.” She continued, “I've seen too many people live that way and almost wreck their careers. That's not going to happen to me. I'm still full on, but these days I see the wisdom in having a good night's sleep."

I suggest you guys go buy the new AAR album...the more I listen to it the more I'm liking it lol. There first single was lameee but the first song on the album is my favorite! I just bought Lily Allen's new album and it's amazing! I know I'm a little late on that one lol. I also like the new Silversun Pickups song Panic Switch and the song Day and Night by Kid Cudi...the beat is so catching. 

I can't wait for the new Muse album to hit stores! I really want to go see them live in England, that would be so awesome. I also heard Amy Winehouse is prepping for her new album which makes me very excited. Last but not least the new Used album will be out soon! I feel like it's been forever.

So far in 2009 i've seen;

The Pretenders:They put on a really amazing preformance,its incredbile how Chrissie Hynde still has such amazing stage presence and shes what 59?

Lily Allen:Favorite show of this year and of any show i've been to,she is so much fun,i dont think i stopped dancing the whole show,and the crowd was chill,i was surprised cause usually crowds at shows are real annoying and shit,but it was in a pretty small venue and it was an all around amazing show,Lily Allen just seems like she loves preforming,her being drunk may help a little,but it makes the show so much more fun,i can't wait to see her again.

Jack's Mannequin:It was my third time seeing Jack's Mannequin and as the two other times it was incredible,Andrew puts on an incredible show,i was seeing my favorite band for the third time and its still so amazing to me,highly recommend seeing JM.

And im really hoping to see Tegan and Sara before the year ends,its rumored their new album is coming out in October and im hoping to see them.

I dont know what its like where you live, but its full of neds umm... i think you guys call them chavs, but basically its people who drink, smoke, fight underage.

Actually i just described the skins cast, but they arent cool, they are horrible. They slash innocent people and kids. They bully people because there different, they have sex at like 10 and they generally suck.

I get called an emo constantly, of them. They are idiots who think there hard.

Anyways, seen twilight? of course you have.

But have you read twilight, new moon, eclipse and breaking dawn?

So, yesterday, it was reported that Katy Perry had taken a vow of celibacy for the year 2009.  In the article on Buzznet, fans were warned that the comment was likely tongue-in-cheek, since Perry has announced she doesn't like talking about her private life.  Also, because LULZ Katy Perry.

Well, as it turns out?  The celibacy thing, much like Perry's bi-curiousity, was a joke.


Katy's response to people jumping on her comment was "I am not going to be celibate.  That was a joke, and any fine journalist would have got that.  Please, celibacy for the whole year? I’d rather die."  She went on to say "I'm a continual prankster and a jokester, and people forget that you have to interpret that if I'm telling a joke."

This is not the first time Perry has felt her "humor" went unnoticed and unappreciated.  Last year, she called herself "a skinnier version" of British artist Lily Allen.  Perry later claimed that comment was just a joke, saying "Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."  Note for the future, Katy: when you basically call somebody "fat?"  Saying "it was just a joke" really doesn't make anything better.

Also?  "Why so serious?" was the Joker's catchphrase, not yours.


Back to the celibacy: to be fair, the fact that she followed up her celibacy comment with mention of kissing her cat?  Really SHOULD have tipped off more people that she likely wasn't serious about it.  And the press should by now be used to Katy saying/doing things like that.  As I mentioned, the Buzznet article did contain a disclaimer that "we should probably assume this comment is tongue-in-cheek.  After all, taking anything Katy Perry says (or sings) at face value, especially when it pertains to who she is or isn't kissing, hasn't been proven to be 100% accurate in the past."

I stand by my point.
