I dont know if you have been following the crisis happening in burma. Protesters against the military junta, including monks, are being arrested and killed. The Burmese Government is scaring the people back into silence by hunting down and arresting not only the leaders of the protest but ANYONE who had anything to do with it. "....participants in the rallies, from leaders like Htay Kywe and prominent monks to people who 'watched, clapped and joined in', according to exile groups."
"Htay Kywe, 39, was the last remaining leader of a group called the 88 Generation Students Group, which led protests against a fuel price increase in mid-August that grew into huge demonstrations against the military junta."
""The crackdown is quite systematic, to create terror, real terror, among the people," said Aung Zaw" ---NewYorkTimes

this is a really horrible humanitarian crisis. There's no way to really know the extent of what's happening there right now.
when i was coming back on the plane from spain with tila i read the wall street journal world issue. They said that in america cnn covered britney spears 37 more times than they covered the crisis in burma. !!!!!
There's a group here on buzznet.com called 'lightbulbs for burma' to raise awareness and public consciousness about this.
its sad that most people dont even know that its happening..
E.G.P's ---will you join the group and take photos of you holding a lightbulb (symbolizing your awareness) and post them to the group and back to this post..
i'll post my picture in an hour....
