KCSB 91.9 FM and La Casa de la Raza Present An All-Ages Hip Hop Show Featuring Zion I and The Grouch, Scarub, Blu, and Bash Bros, Friday, May 4th, 8:30pm
SANTA BARBARA – KCSB-FM and La Casa de la Raza present an all-ages hip hop show featuring live performances by Zion I and The Grouch, Scarub, Blu, and Bash Bros on Friday, May 4th, at 8:30pm, at La Casa de la Raza. “Hip hop shows do not come to Santa Barbara very often, and we hope this event will draw a wide variety of people from the community who enjoy underground music – both high school and college students, as well as non-students,” says Nilagia McCoy, KCSB General Manager. “Although KCSB has teamed with La Casa on other projects, like youth-radio initiatives, we are very excited about this particular collaboration, which comes at a time when more outlets for underserved youth in our community are clearly needed.” The event is part of the Alliance for Immigrant Rights' “Week of the Immigrant,” which features a demonstration, citizenship and workers’ rights classes, and many other educational programs. At the concert, there will be tables for socially-aware groups to offer information on a variety of topics such as anti-racism, anti-war efforts, and others.
Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for college students, and $8 for high school students, at the Associated Students Ticket Office, by phone at (805) 893-2064, at Morninglory Music at 1014 State St. and at the door. For questions about the event, call (805) 893-3757. All proceeds benefit KCSB.
