As we await the arrival of Snow White and the Huntsman on the big screen, producer Joe Roth is dishing out news on the project to EW.

Roth revealed that Snow White and the Huntsman will be the first film in a trilogy actually. Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman), and Charlize Theron (The Evil Queen) will be in all three installments.

He also unveiled the basic premise of the first of the three films, which is a slight departure from the classic tale. In Snow White and the Huntsman, Snow White has been held captive by the Evil Queen for 11 years and finally escapes. After her escape, the Evil Queen orders the Huntsman to track her down, kill her, and return with her heart. Once the Huntsman finds his bounty, Snow White, he finds that he cannot kill her and instead teaches her how to survive in the wild and elude the Evil Queen's army.

Why a trilogy? Think of Snow White and the Huntsman as a story within another story. Roth states: "This story will end, but there will be questions remaining for these three characters."

Production on this first installment begins this August.
