Raila For President
When we were in Africa there was quite a lot of excitement surrounding the presidential elections that were coming up in December. There were marches, electioneering, speeches, demonstrations and posters covering nearly every available surface. Members of the Orange party and Raila himself were holding meetings at the serena Hotel where we were staying. As a matter of fact we were joined poolside for lunch by him and his entourage one day.
Political consultant and gadfly Despicable Dick Morris, was on hand providing "pro bono" political advice to the Orange Party. He was run out of the country however as he did not have the proper work permit to operate in Kenya.
It is indeed unfortunate to see the wide spread violence taking place in a country where we so recently visited. One hopes that some sort of reconciliation will take place as the opposing factions sort things out.

Glad to see someone wising up to that vulture... The violence happening there is heart-wrenching. I too hope for some sort of coming together soon. Thanks for the photos of a more peaceful time.
