Summary: Casey was born and raised in Japan, technically making her a Japanese citizen, but it doesn't mean anything. During her school time, she was bullied and beaten down for being different, even with the most powerful man in Japan as her father doesn't stop them. In the end, Casey is transfered to Shounan High in the Kanagawa Prefecture and there she meets Takashimi Kouyou, the most popular kid in school. He is talented and good looking and everything the popular girls looked in for. But Kouyou didn't want anyone in particular, he wanted Casey. Yet she doesn't read anything as she is too battered to notice. Since high school finished, Casey hasn't heard or seen Kouyou since graduation... until recently. Kouyou tries everything to make Casey realise how much she means to him, going to distance just for her. Will Casey open up her heart just for Kouyou? Or is she destined to be fragile and scared forever?

Kiasu Café - Kanagawa Prefecture - 1996
Casey looked at the posters that covered the glass windows of the Kiasu Café as she nibbled her bottom lip nervously. She turned to the sound of a car horn blasting and waved to her older brother as he passed her in the Cadillac that had dropped her off on the street corner.
Casey was surprised to be here actually, she never thought that her father would agree to let her come, but Brett had stepped in and told him that he would drop her off and pick her up at 10 o'clock sharp and also it would have been a good experience for Casey, to meet new people whilst making friends at the same time. Her father had frowned for about five minutes, pondering on whether to let his youngest child go out with a boy from school she had only met that day. But if his son was to drop her off and pick her up and also if this would make Casey more sociable, then what harm would it do? He had smiled when his daughter had jumped up and down with delight and winced at her girlie squeals, but he was glad to see her happy at long last. It had been a while since he had seen her this way. This boy must have the magic touch.
Casey shook her head as she came back down to earth with a bump, she really should learn not to go off into daydreams all the time. She peered in through the glass and saw some girls from school that she recognised from her classes. They were dressed in short tops and even shorter skirts and frayed denim shorts with heels so high, Casey could help but wonder if they could actually walk in them. She glanced down at her own attire, wondering if she under dressed for this event. Wearing a pair of ripped, slim legged indigo jeans that were tucked into knee high black converse boots that she had imported all the way from England with thanks to her Grandmother's credit card, paired with her jeans she wore a baggy purple off shoulder top that cut off just above her midriff revealing a flat, toned stomach whilst the top also revealed a smooth, ivory clear shoulder with one black bra strap on show, she didn't want to come across as well, slutty for Kouyou, but after seeing the other girls in the café, Casey started to worry. She started to nibble on her bottom lip, a habit she must break out of before she bit all her lips into a void of emptiness.
"I'm never going to be as pretty as those girls" Casey murmured to herself, sighing inwardly as she felt her small bubble of happiness inside of her deflate into nothing. She turned to go back home when she felt a hand take her own right one.
"You're leaving?" she turned and saw Kouyou standing there, his eyes filling with hurt as he saw her go.
"Oh... um I thought you wouldn't notice me there, especially..." she trailed off as her eyes fell to the ground, her face burning red as she realised that Kouyou was still holding her hand.
"Especially what?" Casey could hear the confusement in his voice so she glanced up and looked past him through the window, looking that the girls at the counter, Kouyou caught her glance and turned his body to follow where her eyes were looking. He turned back to her and took her hand in his own.
"Casey, every gig they come to here they always dress like that. If I wanted to be with one of those girls, I would be with one of them now wouldn't I?" he smiled softly and gave Casey the once over. "You look amazing by the way" he blushed and looked down which made Casey's heart leap.
"Thank you Kouyou" she whispered, blushing in return. No guy had ever said such kind things to her, unless you counted her brother and father, but in this case she didn't count them.
"So will you come in? For me?" Kouyou's eyes filled with pleas, begging Casey to walk into the café and she was trapped underneath his spell. She felt her knees weaken from the way he touched her skin. What else could she say to him?
"Of course I shall, I'm here now so what would the point be of me not coming in?" she knew she was babbling, but Kouyou didn't take any notice for his rose-bud mouth stretched into the biggest smile Casey had ever seen.
"I'm glad Casey" he murmured, gently tugging her through the doorway and into the dimness of the café, he then placed her towards the front of the small, make-shift stage. She had the best view of the house and she beamed in pride as she watched Kouyou take his place on stage, looping his guitar over his head and poising his fingers ready for action. The singer spoke huskily into the mic and the band started playing. Casey looked around the shop and could see everyone was trapped in the band's spell. She turned back towards the stage and smiled to herself as she watched Koyou's fingers play along the strings. He was breathtaking and Casey could feel herself falling for him deeper and deeper every minute she was near him.
Panda Club - Tokyo 2009
"Wow this is so amazing!" squealed Ruki, his eyes gleaming as he looked at the sparkly furniture and the silver clad staff members.
"Why thank you" beamed Riko, her chest swelling with pride. Casey laughed softly as she knew how much Panda meant to Riko. It was her baby and had taken 4 years to get it up and running from an abandoned warehouse to the latest "It" club of the decade. She knew all of this because she used to be on the receiving end of Riko's temper tantrums; getting books, plates and even vases thrown at her head was a daily routine and it gave Casey some exercise and even built up her reflexes making her lighting quick whenever something came hurtling towards her head. She smiled to herself as she watched Riko give Reita, Ruki, Aoi and Kai the tour of the place, seeing the pride shine out of her friend, her skin glowing as she spoke whilst her eyes glittered and danced underneath the strobe lights.
"Would you like a drink?" Uruha murmured in her ear, sending more waves of shocks through Casey's body. She nodded, unable to speak as the roof of her mouth had dried and she seemed to lose the inability to communicate with around her. She mentally slapped herself, trying to shake this feeling that she had demanded her body and mind not to feel when she saw him tonight. But she was being dragged down, as if she had an anchor tied to her ankles and then had her body thrown in to the black, coldness of an ocean and she was sinking fast, going down deeper and deeper out of reach to be saved. Casey shuddered at this thought. What was she doing here? What was she doing back in Japan? The one place in the world he was located and she had to come back. Casey watched Uruha's retreating back and wondering if he would notice if she snuck out the back door? Stupid idea, of course he would notice, he was very good at spotting things whenever Casey was involved and/or around. She sighed and ran her right hand through her thick raven hair, placing her left one on her hip, jutting it out to the side like she always did when she wasn't moving around.
His hand slid around her waist, pulling her closer to his body. She couldn't breathe as she felt her heart leap into her throat whilst beating at least 100 mph. His lips connected with hers as she snaked her arms around his neck and arched her back so her belly touched his naked, toned stomach...
"One apple martini" a blast of ice gently brushed her exposed skin on her left forearm, making her back away from the harsh coldness of the glass, she reached up and rubbed her skin, feeling goose bumps forming already. "Sorry" Uruha laughed "You were miles away and I had my hands full so it was the only way to get your attention"
"How long have you been standing there?" growled Casey, annoyed at his childish antics but then felt instantly guilty at the shocked expression on Kouyou's face.
"Sorry" he mumbled
"Don't be Kouyou" she sighed "I guess I'm a little bit on edge, well being here with you that is"
"I don't mean to put you under pressure Casey" he murmured, taking a sip from his glass that he seemed to have a vice-like grip on.
"I know you don't..." she trailed off, looking down at the ground and scuffed her heel against the granite flooring.
"Are we ever going to put what happened behind us?" he asked, making Casey look up and stare at him direct in his eyes, trying not to be ensnared by their beauty.
"I have put it behind me Kouyou. It's just..." once again she trailed off, but instead of looking at the ground, she took a gulp of the vivid green liquid in the glass, wincing slightly as the combination of alcohol and apple stung the back of her throat. It only took a few seconds to realise that it was more martini than apple.
"Will you ever trust me again?" he asked, Casey looked past him, watching Riko with the others at the bar counter, probably ordering enough lethal combination of drinks to kill a small elephant. She flicked her eyes down to the floor whilst swirling what was left of her drink in the glass.
"I never stopped trusting you Kouyou. It's just that you hurt me and I didn't know how to react..."
"So you left? That was your way of dealing with it? You could have stayed and we could have worked things out Casey!"
"I couldn't bear to be around you Uruha!" Casey knew her voice was raising but he was poking her like a bear in a cage and she wasn't going to stand for it. She wasn't the one who cheated.
"After what I did, I felt so bad Case" sorrow filled Uruha's throat "After you left, I wanted to fight for you so much. I wasn't going to give up on you that easily, even if it seemed like you had"
"Kouyou... I..." but she couldn't finish that sentence as she felt the tears well up inside of her. She had to be strong; she couldn't show him how much he had killed a part of her. If only he knew the whole truth.
"Casey" Uruha mumbled, wrapping his right arm around her waist whilst using his left hand to cup her jaw bone, making a circulation motion on her cheek with his thumb. Casey couldn't hold back any longer, so she leaned towards him, feeling safe as his lips crushed against her own.
