Justin Timberlake is Not a Narcissist

Justin Timberlake sets an example that there are still men out there who are not destroyed by our culture’s incessant narcissism when he refused to release a fragrance using his name. allabouthim.com

Buenas Noches!

Well it's been ages since my last post. shame on me, i know!

ive been back from California for about 4 days and i miss my dad terribly. not having seen him for around 12 years, makes it understandable right? I had a lots of fun out there: going to the beach, Amoeba Music (so overwhelming my first time! didn't even know where to start!) City Walk, visiting family, catching up with 2 of my high school friends, and of course last but definitely NOT least, visiting the wonderful BUZZNET! meeting all the people that help make this place so wonderful and a joy to be a member of...

i have a new camera :) got it last month. (Nikon D90) havent used it as much as i would love to. sadly it's acting up (especially when i was in Cali) so i'm gonna have to take it in and have it looked at.

this wouldn't be one of my usual journal posts without me mentioning my lovely boys of Envy On The Coast. can't tell you how much i miss those boys! I'll get to see them pretty soon on tour with Taking Back Sunday and Anberlin. sooo stoked for it, you have no idea. i don't think ive gone this long without seeing them. 10th time will be a charm especially since it'll be the first time my best friend will be able to enjoy them live with me. ps she's having a little girl in June :) i'm the godmother. i will teach that little girl Spanish like no other! i'll throw in some French in there too (at least what i know)

i'm listening to Dave Melillo right now as i type. i've been a fan of his since '06. I Love his solo stuff. i'm kinda bummed that he's not really doing that anymore (at least for the time being) don't get me wrong, i love CIWWAF but i just feel he's not using all his talents. c'mon Shaant give Dave some vocals! lol. i swoon for Dave's covers. esp the Justin Timberlake cover he did. Youtube it. (also his cover of Incubus' "Drive") this guy can't be more perfect.

well i had a lot more things that i was thinking about talking about, but i have work early at 5am. why did i say i'd help out with the fragrance fair. who wants to get up hella early and buy perfume!? i gotta get up suuuper early so i have to postpone watching "Milk" until tomorrow. Sean Penn= amazing James Franco=hell yeah!   remembering the day i met him years ago still makes me swoon. aaah.

well it's been nice sharing my thoughts and feelings with you guys. hope i wasn't too boring ;) what are you guys doing. let me know if you want me to check your stuff out. i feel bad because i've been neglecting my rad buzznet friends. a lot of the stuff amazes me on here. makes me kinda jealous that im not as great as most of you guys are. and i mean it. no bull!

goodnight buzzneters

-Sandee

ps. just uploaded a video of Evan Taubenfeld from the S&S Acoutic Tour (still have to uplaod a video of This Providence and a few of TAI) so watch it (good qual vid) Evan seriously won me over that night. he's an awesome human being.

Guilty Pleasures: Music Department (Ooh, we haven't done one of these in ages!)

You know those artists you listen to when no one else is around?  Those artists you wouldn’t admit liking even to your best friend? Well, I’m about to admit it to my 226 best Buzznet friends. And after I go, then it’ll be your turn!

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

I don’t really like this genre of music, but I think he’s a very talented musical hyphenate. (singer-dancer-writer-producer-impresario-actor)

Also, I just find him Sexy. There, I’ve said it. He’s not even really that handsome. The shape of his eyes is weird, and they don’t seem to have any discernible color.  I can’t figure out what color his hair is, either. It’s not brown, blonde, black or red.  It’s like taupe.  But when that video for “What Goes Around Comes Around” was in heavy rotation, I would not stir from the couch until the very last frame.

NEIL DIAMOND

If Neil were a pizza, he would definitely come with extra cheese.   This is the man who penned the following lyrics:

“I am, I cried!
To no one there.
And no one heard at all,
Not even the chair.”

Next time you’re in the mood for cheese, have yourself a heaping helping of Neil Diamond. And I dare you not to sing along with “Sweet Caroline.”

btw, have you guys seen the movie, Saving Silverman, starring Jack Black, Jason Biggs, Steve Zahn and Neil Diamond?  Well, if you like zany zaniness, I highly recommend it.

DAUGHTRY

I don’t know why I like this guy; maybe it’s because he reminds me so much of Vin Diesel (another one of my Guilty Pleasures). Maybe because I feel sorry for him having to go through life with his  American Idol stigma. He may as well wear a scarlet “A” on his chest, for pete’s sake.

I haven’t bought a CD of his, but I will admit I  bought the one song from his album that Slash played on.  That has to mean something, doesn’t it?

ABBA

Who can resist these singing Swedes?  Apparently, not many people, judging by the success of the Broadway smash “Mamma Mia,” (now a major motion picture)  based on songs that were huge hits way back in the 1970’s.

Put on “Voulez Vous”  and you’re instantly transported back to Studio 54. Look, there’s Truman Capote!  You just try to sit still.

JAMES TAYLOR

He’s the chamomile tea of singers.  I find him very soothing.  When “Fire and Rain” comes on while I’m pushing my cart down the aisles of the A&P, all the stresses of food shopping instantly melt away.

HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH

Man, I am so picturing you howling with laughter right about now. No, but I like Hootie’s  voice. That’s not even his name; I don’t know what his name is. I think I like these guys because hearing them takes me back to a time when I was young, free and in love.

Phew, I feel so much better now that that’s out in the open!

I tag:   hollow1005, crash13, kassady, eyelinersmudge, hidedontseek, drsirdrawsalot, skintight,  ikkygxblanksface, and anyone else with guts.

C’mon, ‘fess up!!

July 1, 2008

it is my day of lucky!

yesterday i went to go see the love guru with my boy. it would've been really funny except for this fat guy in front of us.. you know one of the ones that take up two seats just for their snacks and laugh at everyfrickenthing, even though it isn't funny at all. then of course halfway through patrick smelled something awful right as the guy was getting up, so we figured he was going to take a shit.. and he never came back. from then on the movie was hilarious.. the best part was justin timberlake dancing to celine dion. sooo ridiculous.

then we went to crown burger and talked for an hour. i got a tuna melt which was gross and he got an ice cream sundae. i hate fast food places. it was a mellow but fun night.

oh by the way, sable recovered. two dumps later she was back to normal.. haha!

what movies have you seen lately?

i feel dumb cause i always ask these questions but no one ever answers them. no one has even left me a comment yet! jesus people!!

What's ok and what's not.

This is very simple, and this has very few words.

Nick Jonas, 15

Miley Cyrus, 15

Joe Jonas, 18

Britney Spears, at age 18

Zac Efron, 20

Christina Aguilera, at age 20

Justin Timberlake, 27

Nicole Scherzinger, 29

What here was "ok"? What here was not "ok"?

Done.
