The drug dogs, the attorney stated, found a bag of crystal meth in a trap door and “hot spots” of residue on the carpet—which Lutfi later had ripped out and replaced.

Schleimer said Lutfi and Britney maintained a “strong artistic relationship,” and advised Britney to head to Las Vegas to rehearse her dancing for the good of her health. The judge excused the jury and reminded Lutfi’s rep he must back up his claims with evidence, saying:

Lutfi alleged Jamie Spears “punched him [Lutfi] in the chest,” and “threatened to kill Lutfi if he ever heard that Lutfi ever again made a rude comment about Lynne or any other member of his family.”

Lutfi says he suffered “internal injury to his nervous system” and “great mental, physical, and nervous pain and suffering.”

Britney is “terrified” the judge handling the trial for Sam Lutfi will force her to testify, according to RadarOnline.com.

“Britney doesn’t want to see Sam Lutfi or be in the same room with him again, ever,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Britney is terrified that she is going to be forced to testify in the trial, even though the judge handling her conservatorship ruled she isn’t mentally competent to participate.”

The trial is expected to last three weeks, with Brit’s parents, conservators, ex-lawyers and fiancé all testifying.

The source adds: “Brit is being kept busy with work on X Factor and her sons. The upcoming trial isn’t discussed with her because it’s just too upsetting,” the insider says.

It’s odd everyone but Britney is testifying in the trial because, at the time all this went down, she wasn’t too close with any of them. The one person that could clear things up is the one person not participating in the trial. Must be some painful memories.

Britney’s and ex-manager Sam Lutfi’s lawyers are attempting a last ditch effort to reach a settlement before Lutfi accuses her family of breach of contract, libel, and defamation and head to trial, reports RadarOnline.com.

The judge in the case ordered both sides to attempt to reach a settlement, but after nearly five years of this drama, it’s not looking good.

“Sam absolutely doesn’t want to settle, and wants his side of the story to finally come out. However, Sam knows that his name will be dragged through the mud by the other side,” a source close to the case tells us.

“This will come down to money, and it would take a significant amount of it for Sam to settle.”

Britney’s under a conservatorship to protect her from harm’s way, including restricting access to the Internet, reports RadarOnline.com.

“Britney’s cell phone and internet use is restricted and heavily monitored, and this is done for her protection,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Britney’s father, Jamie, and her fiance, Jason, want to make sure that her former manager, Sam Lutfi, isn’t able to contact her. Britney and Jason essentially share a cell phone, and it’s routinely checked to see who has been calling. Furthermore, the cell phones have been programmed to block calls from phone numbers associated with Lutfi. Brit’s computer usage is also restricted in the sense that certain websites are blocked. Her family doesn’t want Britney reading negative stories that would upset her. Again, this is all done with love and for her well-being.”

Britney’s restraining order against Sam Lutfi expired earlier this year, so her handlers have gone through great lengths to make sure he doesn’t contact her.

“After the restraining order expired, the conservators went to extra lengths to make sure that Sam wasn’t able to contact Britney because there was no longer any criminal threat if he were to violate terms of the restraining order,” the source continued.

Britney’s trial against Lutfi started on Monday. Expected to testify on behalf of Britney are Jamie and Lynne Spears, talent agent Kevin Huvane, current manager Larry Rudolph, ex-assistant Ali Sims, former manager Lou Taylor and a slew of lawyers including Laura Wasser, who represented Britney for the divorce proceedings against Kevin.

Sam Lutfi recently filed court documents stating a drug-sniffing dog found crystal meth in Britney’s home in 2007, reports TMZ.com.

In the new legal docs, Lutfi talks about what he would want Britney to testify about if a judge ruled she could, including a dark time where he “brought drug-sniffing dogs into her home … and they found a cache of crystal methedrine, which was destroyed.”

He continues: “Britney should further testify that drug dogs found ‘hot spots of drug residue in the carpeting, where her young sons [ages 1 and 3] played during visits.”

Lutfi says he covered it up by shampooing and eventually replacing the carpet.

This is a complete contrast to the claims by Britney’s parents that he gave her the drugs.

Lutfi also claims Britney told him her dad Jamie “was a violent racist,” and an abusive alcoholic.

Jamie is currently co-conservator and will take the stand next week to represent Britney, who’s deemed incompetent to take the stand because it could cause her harm.

The trial starts October 1.
