Nominations for the the 6th Annual BET Awards
have been announced. Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Jamie Foxx and Busta Rhymes
lead the pack with four nominations each.
The ceremony will will be held in L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium
when the live telecast airs on June 27. Comedian/actor Damon Wayans will host, surprisingly
for the first time.
Chaka Khan is this year's BET Lifetime Achievement Award
honoree, while singer/actor/activist Harry Belafonte will receive the BET
Humanitarian Award.
In honor of the re-launched adult-oriented sister network
BET J (formerly BET Jazz), a new award has been added: the BET J Cool Like That
Award.
