The Truth Is....

I am Iron Man

Haha excuse the quoting. So today I went out and got "The Sound Of The Smiths", which is absolutely fantastic. I also got the coolest Iron Man poster ever, as well as a very 'suave and sultry', if you will, poster of the greatness that is Fall Out Boy. My room now feels very complete.

I also watched August Rush, which is such a great movie. Some movies I really want to see: Milk, Watchmen, The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas and The Wrestler. Although I am going to have to wait a while for Watchmen.

Ahh so the holidays have now arrived, and it is very hard. You know, lazing around all day can get pretty strenuous =P

Well that's all I have to say really.

The Great Superhero Debate

Who is the greatest superhero of all time?  Ok, slow down.  Before you get all riled up about your answer and defending your cause, there needs to be a bit of reasonable debate.  Many people will argue for Batman, Superman, Spiderman, the Hulk, Ironman, or the Flash.  You won’t get a lot of votes normally for the Green Lantern, Captain America, or the Wonder Twins.  But in any case, people like to talk about it.

Retailers have realized the super “sale” power of superheroes for years.  Every year, there is a new action line coming out, and every year parents raid the shelves to get the right toy for their kids.  This year, it may be Bakugan toys or something like this.  Even girly movies can serve as heroes to girls.  So Hannah Montana party favors and other trinkets get sold like hot cakes.  There is something internal in all of us that wants to root for the superhero.  We want to be a part of something larger.  We want to root for hope, and we want to have victory.

With all of that said, I want to submit my answer for the greatest superhero ever.  He’s brave, just, kind, loving. strong, sacrificial, courageous and fights evil.  Sound like anyone you know?  Yeah, now take away the tights, and think back about 2000 years.  To me, it’s so obvious.  Jesus is the ultimate superhero, and in reality, not fiction.  Every other character is based off of him.  Everyone else are just copies.

Marvel Says Dr. Strange Movie Isn't Impossible

So far, Marvel has brought Iron Man and The Hulk to the big screen in preparation for their planned Avengers movie.  They're also making plans for a Captain America movie as well as a Thor film which may be directed by Kenneth Branagh.  But still, four Avengers don't a team make.  So who else is going to make the cut?

Well, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige has dropped at least one possibly unexpected name: Doctor Strange.

Both Stan Lee and Neil Gaiman, along with my father who has far less authority in these matters, have stated they want to see Doctor Strange done as a live action film (a direct to DVD animated film was done in 2007)  And with Feige's exuberant explanation of Marvel's forthcoming projects for 2012 and 2013, it's looking more and more like the film could happen.  Feige even said "Dr. Strange? This is one of the best characters we have. [He represents] this amazing cosmic universe to Marvel that we haven’t played with in films yet and I think could be amazing to play with.”

Since Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America's powers are all rooted in science, both Thor and Doctor Strange could give the studio a chance to expand their film universe to include that sort of thing.  Of course, you'd need a third "magic" hero to round out the odds...and hey, no girls on the team yet!  Scarlett Witch, much?  (Okay, okay, far fetched, but you're doing a Magneto origins movie and you could establish Wanda's existence in that and then pull her into the Avengers films!  COME ON!)

So what could all of this mean?  Well, Gaiman is enough of a Strange fan that he could possibly be tapped to write the film.  He's worked with the character previously in Marvel 1602 and did an amazing job.

It also means that casting speculation for Doctor Strange can OFFICIALLY begin!

What do you think?  About the Doctor Strange film, about casting for the film or Neil Gaiman's potential involvement or about my continuing attempts to get Marvel to confirm a female Avenger?

...I'm just saying.  Black Widow would be easy to write in and I've got theories on how to slip in Carol Danvers.  Call me sometime, Marvel!

I am Iron Man.

I got the coolest thing today. I buy the randomest stuff. Haha.

....ahahaha. I've got alot of badges. This is by far my favourite. XD

....my wrist of memories, wow that sounded emo.

Each of those bracelets holds a special memory for me. The top one is a red string bracelet. That's from a terrible stage I went through last year, I probably shouldn't wear it anymore haha. The second one is this piece of orange string I got when I went on vacation to Club Med. Everyone at the resort wore one so it reminds me of my time there. The third one is a silver chain with my name, a heart and 07 engraved on it. My aunty gave it to me last year for christmas. The fourth one is a leather plaited bracelet. My brother wears a matching one. The fifth one is this beaded bracelet my friend made for me. She made it for me in the 5th grade and it pwns.

A Very Immature Movie Review and Weekend Wrap-Up

So, yes, I was a busy one this past weekend.  First of all, there was this...

I'm not a huge fan, but my nephew is; so, we decided to go.  It was pretty fun.  Someone tried to bite me @o@!

Then, I visited my mom under the guise of being fed (just kidding, I love going to see my mom) and attempted to re-enact a scene from Hitchcock's "The Birds," when I tried to get a picture of her pet bird Rocky who is a starling...

Rocky wanted to peck my eyeballs out, but he settled on just pulling my hair out of my ponytail.

Then, I finally got out and bought my "Iron Man" DVD and watched it.  I wanted to do an extremely witty and clever review in the vein of Jerry (vaginaldischarge); however, all I got were 25 immature observations I made during the movie...Here they are...don't worry about me giving anything away about the movie...the observations are immature as I said..

1.  AC/DC in any movie is always cool.  Gets the blood pumping and the head banging (lame).
2.  I both love and hate how fast Robert Downey, Jr., talks.  I love it because I talk fast, and we tend to like/love things we can relate to.  I hate it, because I found myself going "huh?" during several parts of the movie.
3.  I would love to  have a team of people following me around.
4.  Oh, oh, oh...Suicidal Tendencies!!!!
5.  Why do all geniuses in the movies drive fast sports cars and listen to metal music?  If I were a genius, I'd drive a sensible car and listen to Brit-pop!  Actually, I wouldn't even drive.  I'd just fly everywhere.  Scratch that...I'd have people carry me everywhere.
6.  When they exploded the Jericho, it reminded me of fireworks.  The Jericho is a deadly firework ; )
7.  Hahahah...I liked the line of driving in the humdrum-vee.  Chuckle, chuckle, chuckle.
8.  Why are evil people calm as hell?
9.  Bad things always happen with refusals...like heads in a toilet (or a bucket of water).
10.  This movie made me want to learn science, so I could McGyver my way out of shit.
11.  Bad guys always wear cool scarves.
12.  Heavy metal music always makes a point...a loud, violent point.
13.  God, now Downey, Jr., is speaking too quietly.
14.  Quiet mumbling is usually not a good thing.
15.  How does he pee in the Iron Man suit?
16.  I wonder how long it took him to fly across the world in that iron man suit?
17.  Why did his face go all zombie?
18.  "I'm not nostalgic"  Shoot, what couldn't I catch that foreshadow's relevance?
19.  Why are bad guys always bald?
20.  Why do bad things always happen in the dark?
21.  How come the bad guy got the cool monster voice?
22.  Iron Man and Evil Iron Clone battling in the street.  Wouldn't you stick around for the show?
23.  Not all government types are bad guys.  Hurray!
24.  Of course, "I am Iron Man."
25.  So much for the stereotype of the superhero keeping their identity a secret.

So, that was my weekend.  How was yours?

Reviews: IRON MAN

I remember talkin about it but never wrote a proper review.
The movie kicked serious ass. I loved every single fucking second of this movie! Still my  favorite movie of 2008 (even after seeing Dark Night) and it came out on my B-day (05-02-08 BONUS POINTS!) This is probably Marvel's best movie to date (sorry Spidey). The acting was fabulous and just the whole movie was great.

Low Down: Movies about (if u havent seen) Tony Stark: Rich billionare and owner of Stark Industries a company that makes weapons for the military and so forth. Goes to Afghanistan (I believe) for a weapons test and then he gets kidnapped. And in order to escape he had to make this suit (and he did dur) and well the rest is history...and really he just finally finds his purpose yadda yadda.

Actors:

ROBERT DOWNEY JR: Not only is the man the hottest looking thang since the SUN he can ACT! He really knew what made Tony Stark tick and I really think they have something in common! I think Roberts troubled past made him perfect. I loved him!

Gwyneth Paltrow:  Miss. Virginia "Pepper" Potts. Oh how I wanted you and Tony to just KISS!!! as Tony's faithful assistant miss Gwyneth played Pepper very well! no one could've played her like you did!!

Terrence Howard: Rhodey!!! So fun yet soo serious. Sometimes he had a pole stuck up his ass, sometimes he was looser than a string! Excellent job Terrence. You made mamma proud.

Jeff Bridges: You, my friend, are one crazy bad guy. I mean, for goodness sakes you almost killed a family in a mini-van! But you were very evil with ur little bald head! Atleast he brings back pizza from New York...GOOD JOB BUDDY

SOOO!! everything about this movie was excellent!!! Prob one of the best movies of 2008 (and also the best movie of 2008 SO FAR! I have proof!) I cant wait for the sequel in 2010! (and yes, i know exactly whats its about hehe)
My Grade: A+ what a bad ass pic!
and THAT is my latest review!! ^_^

'Umbrella Academy' Movie Reportedly in the Works

Only one story arc of My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way's comic, "The Umbrella Academy," has been released, but it's already made an impression on the comic world. So much in fact that soon "TUA" will join other big-name comics such as "Iron Man" and "Batman" as a major motion picture. More.

How can I be asked for my ID three times in about two hours? WTH?

I finally bought the '**** Live in Phoenix'-DVD on Friday and I want to take it to bed with me that's how much I love it.
I talked to my friend on the phone on Friday and we were both totally hyper and talking shit, it was hilarious. We decided to go to the cinema in the evening and met at 8:30pm. The woman at the cinema box office was very rude, unfriendly and especially incompetent. We wanted to see the movie at 11pm to have some time left to talk and stuff but she gave us tickets for 9pm. Fortunately I noticed it and we had to go back to get the right tickets and then...she wanted to see our IDs because the film ends after midnight and they are not allowed to let people under 18 see films that end after midnight. I was born in 1990. That means I am 18. Eighteen.
We showed our IDs to her and she was like 'But your student card from earlier said you were born in 1991.' It does not say that I am 17 and I had to show it again. What a dumbass! Do you really think a) a freaking student card shows my true age and I faked my laminated ID card which is almost impossible to fake and b) why would I want to make me younger?!? And for the record: She did not even see the side of my student card that shows my age. WTF?! I guess she just needed an excuse to ask for our IDs...
After that we walked through the city and it was quite funny until...I bought some cigarettes and the cute Asian saleslady asked for my ID as a joke. You should have seen my face... I already thought it can't get worse... We killed time by taking photos of stupid things until we could go back to the cinema to get in. We walked up the stairs and the ticket taker observed us very carefully and...he asked for our IDs... -.-
You can't imagine how dumb I felt. I thought there have to be candid cameras because it is simply not possible that I was asked to show my freaking ID that often... I know it is their job and they have to do it for a reason but I felt like a baby. It was honestly the first time I had to show my ID since I became 18 but it seriously was too much. I think it's because of my new haircut and it really makes me look younger. A lot.

Oh, we watched Iron Man and I think it's kind of lengthy but it was still good. Has anyone seen it? What do you think?
