Katy Perry Fights Back, Clams Up and Moves Forward
Not too long ago, Beth Ditto, vocalist for The Gossip, was quoted in Attitude magazine as saying, "I hate Katy Perry! She's offensive to gay culture" and said that her hit song, "I Kissed a Girl," was a, "boner dyke anthem for straight girls who like to turn guys on by making out or, like, faking gay."
Ditto went so fars as to try and incite a band feud.
For a while the "Waking Up in Vegas" songstress remained mum on the issue, but now she has words for Ditto.

Katy Perry, however, has decided to take the high road, making Ditto look immature for starting the whole thing. In an interview with The London Paper, Perry said, "I've learned in the past year that one artist should never insult another artist's music— it's tacky."
But in other interviews Perry has ony been fanning the flames of Ditto's hatred. in an interview with Stepping Out Magazine, Perry joked about wanting to make out with Scarlett Johansson, saying, "I'm not going to lie—if Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her."

Someone else Katy Perry might make out with? Madonna...
Well, maybe not, but the "Hot N Cold" singer was certainly starstruck by the Queen of Pop when she met her last year. In fact, she was speechless. After taking in Madonna's show, Katy went back stage to meet her. When the legendary Madonna paid Perry a compliment, Perry relates, "[All I managed to say was] 'thank you'. It was all I could get out of my mouth."
But Katy might be the only one surprised at Madonna's compliment. Katy Perry's success as a musician is rivaled only by her success as fashion icon, with her bold (sometimes too bold), 50's inspired costumes.
All this attention has led her to grace the July cover of Seventeen Magazine. In her interview she talks about role models, like Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, her dream wedding, relationships, and breakups.
Be sure to check up on Katy, the ever busy bee, in the new issue of Seventeen, on newstands now.

Although Beth Ditto could've been nicer, I'm on her side on this. And I disagree that Katy made her look "immature." Besides, Beth Ditto is definitely as much as a "fashion icon" as Katy Perry is.
to me its not the way ditto looks as far as her body type. there are thousands of truly beautiful girls who are "bigger" than average..if u will...but its how she carries herself that i find disgusting. katy has dignity and ditto doesnt. i really dont think its much about weight in my mind, just class.
You seriously wish you had the integrity or self-confidence Beth Ditto has. Bless that girl and all she does.
Well...she's right.
Because when I think "dignity" I immediately think of a cake diving homophobe who has been photographed pretending to pick her nose and has been quoted as saying she'd make out with a 15 year old girl. That is the very DEFINITION of dignity.
I just appreciate the fact that Ditto tells it like it is and doesn't take peoples' shit.
no i seriously don't. i have a lot of integrity and self-confidence. talking shit about katy perry because of a song..where is the integrity in that??
as far as fashion goes yes katy has way more dignity than ditto. (my opinion of course) u dont see katy parading naked all over the place.
By the way, what's the difference between jam and jelly? You can't jelly your dick into a two year old's mouth.

how are her songs homophobic?? like i said thats just my opinion u dont have to get all defensive about it lol. chill out. and i didnt say a joke can't be insulting but who is she insulting?? just the people who take offense to it for absolutely no reason.
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
Being into other girls is TOTALLY okay, so long as your boyfriend's into it! Otherwise it might make you a dyke or something and who wants that?
It's not what
Good girls do
Not how they should behave
So...lesbianism/bisexuality is naughty now? It's some kind of fetish?
And let's just go with ALL of "Ur So Gay" being homophobic, because it plays up stereotypes of gay men (OMG! HE DRESSES WELL! TOTALLY GAY!) and uses "gay" as an insult.

alright i see your point of view here. i always just listened to the song as just a song tho..not one that means too much. and i have seen her talk about who she wrote "ur so gay" about and thought it was funny myself. because i think that there are some guys out there (straight guys) that do act the way she describes in the song. but i do see how using it as an insult is rude.
Keep posting.
