Darfur Destroyed

An event that isn't getting much coverage. Currently there is a massive genocide taking place in Darfur. At least 400,000 have been slaughtered and another 2.5 million injured and displaced. These actions have to stop.

Get the message out there. Make people aware of the issue. There is no place in the world for this.

This video is old - from 2004. This is still a very real issue.

Hey, thanks for directing me here. I've featured the video in hopes that more people watch this. Definitely one of the more important issues in global politics that needs more attention. Unfortunately, our attention is constantly diverted elsewhere. Thanks.

This really questions how we determine what is deemed socially important in our society and what isn't.

This has been an issue for years and shows how corrupt, weak, and morally bankrupt the UN and other world bodies really are. Completely toothless. Talk talk talk talk talk. The UN wouldn't even officially call this a genocide because they didn't want to piss off Sudan and the other Arab members who explicitly or tacitly support the Arab muslim attackers against the black (muslim and Christian) victims.

And where are the "no blood for oil" people on this issue. China, a major UN roadblock here, is Sudan's biggest trading partner and owns 40% of Sudan's oil production. You think this isn't influencing China's UN actions?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darfur_ conflict is a good primer on the background of this genocide.

Thanks for the link - If anyone has anymore videos or links then post them. This situation is out of control.

I added a couple more videos. Should be accessible under buzzword "darfur" or on my page.

I forgot the best part about the UN and Darfur. Sudan used to have a seat on the Human Rights Commission of the UN (along with other gems like Zimbabwe).

Now, the UN is reforming the Commission with a new Human Rights "Council" because lunatics like Sudan were running the assylum. Seats were announced today for the new council. Sudan is off, but among those supervising human rights around the world in the new reformed UN council are Cuba, China, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Saudi Arabia.

Oh my. I mean, it is good the UN is being reformed - but just shuffling the cards doesn't change the deck.

Thanks for posting this video. This is an important issue that we must keep talking about...
