She has written songs for artists such as Ashley Tisdale and JoJo. Jade released two singles under Jive Records but a scheduled album was not released. As of 2009, Jade is signed to Affinity West Records with her first single, Secret, set to be released later in the year. Career Jade began modeling at age four. When she was nine, she won a talent show after singing "Amazing Grace". Jade retired from modelling She attended Hampton Senior High School and in 2003 moved to Los Angeles with her parents and two younger brothers, in order to pursue a singing career. That year, a song she co-wrote, "Secret Love," was recorded by JoJo for the 2004 Shark Tale soundtrack. Jade performed the title track to the 2006 film Step Up; the song appeared on the Billboard Pop 100 chart for one week, charting at number 92. A second single, "Turn Around", was released in 2007 but failed to chart. Jade co-wrote one song on Ashley Tisdale's 2007 album, Headstrong, and sang backup vocals. Her debut album, My Name Is Samantha Jade, was originally planned for release in 2006, but was not released. Jade will make her film debut in the Eye of the Dolphin sequel, Beneath the Blue, which is tentatively scheduled for release in 2009. The music video for Jade's latest single, Secret, was posted on YouTube on July 22, 2009. Her debut album is set to be released in November 2009 under West Affinity Records.
