Matt Gonzalez ran for mayor of San Francisco back in 2003 as the Green Party candidate, and almost won.

He's now running as an independent vice-presidential running mate on the Nader ticket.

I've met Nader and respect him. I need to add the Nader documentary, An Unreasonable Man to my video queue.

I'm even more excited that he picked Matt Gonzalez to be his running mate.

After the 2003 San Francisco mayoral campaign, I really wanted Gonzalez to emerge more on the national stage. Instead, he took a few steps back, for what appear to be understandable reasons.

Sure, they're "not going to win," but, nevertheless, we need to hear more from powerful voices like Gonzalez, as we try to figure out how to fix the terrible mess that this country (& planet) finds itself in during this particular moment in history.
