The Writers' Strike is finally over!
Huzzah! Drinks all around!
The Writers Guild of America voted 92.5% in favor of ending the strike after settling a deal with the producers. So what does this mean to you? Well, we've got the full list of television shows that will return to their seasons and which ones are no more.
I'm so happy about this. While I'm not terribly excited about the actual numbers the writers agreed to, I'm glad to see all these people go back to work. My friend Randy works at Nordstroms and helps studios with costuming, so her hours have been drastically cut due to the strike. As I said before, I hope all those peripheral positions are still there for the people who lost them.
Of course, I'm sure you're dying to know how your favorite TV shows are affected. Writers for the Oscars went back to work last night, with the majority of writers returning to work this morning. That means every movie production is back to work as well!
As for TV,
I'd like to thank OhNoTheyDidn't for this frighteningly comprehensive list of what TV shows will continue, how many episodes are left, and which shows are gone forever. Here are the important ones:
Not bad. I don't really follow these anymore, so I don't know if that's good or bad.
- Lost
Six pre-strike episodes remain. Six additional episodes could air this season.
YESSSSSSSS. I'm trying to find the link, but Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindeloff have said that they could seemlessly integrate the new episodes in with the current run. AWESOME. We might lose 2-3 episodes than we were promised, but that means no chance for filler! AWESOME.
- The Office
Expected to shoot 5 to 10 new episodes to air in April/May.
OHMYGOD YES. I miss this show so much. :(
