Merry Christmas!

Captain Horizon would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas!

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the various venues last weekend. The Railway in Evesham was fantastic, The Greyhound in Beeston was superb and we had an awesome gig at Bar South in Kingswinford.

As a result of the gig at Bar South, Captain Horizon have progressed to the next round of the Black Country Battle of the Bands. Details on our next round date will be revealed shortly.

So, the last two gigs of 2009 are upon us. Sunday 27th December, you can catch us performing at Subside, Birmingham in aid of the Birmingham Blitz Dames Christmas fundraiser. We will have our good friends Signify supporting us too. Interested? You can see more details on the Facebook Event.

Wednesday 30th December will see us perform for the last time in 2009 at The Roadhouse Birmingham. We have support from Nottingham based band Old Basford. Details can be found on the Facebook Event.

Finally, thanks to everyone who has purchased the EP thus far.

Someone posted a review of the EP on HMV, quoted below:

These guys know what they are doing, and this debut love child is a testament to my testament…

Independent music is rocking it more than ever, and these guys are standing proud at the centre. Birmingham has produced some of the worlds greatest rock bands, and she seems to have given birth to another mucus dripping beauty.

Keep your eyes on the Horizon, there is more where this came from, you can be assured…

Not purchased the EP yet? Go and get it from your favourite online retailer. iTunes, Amazon, 7Digital, HMV and many more. You can also stream the EP on Spotify. Search for ‘CaptainHorizon’.

See you at the gigs!

Staz's Blog: VICE, The Saturdays and Chipmonk!!!

Yo Yo Yo!!!!!

Hey Guys! Thanks for checking out my bloggg!!!

Just had a really busy week gigging around the UK so it's been all go with the VICE boys recently.

On Friday we had a gig with 'The Saturdays' at Hertfordshire University! The gig went really well and we ended up doing a new acappella on the mics which was fun, so thanks to all the people at Hertfordshire Uni for your support and good reception. However poor Mollie from 'The Saturdays' got hit with a bottle!!! :( Luckily she seemed ok but it just goes to show you never know what might happen on stage!

The next day we had a day off....but it wasn't planned!! Unfortunately the weather was too bad for us to travel up to Newcastle to do a gig! Sorry to anyone that was coming to watch, we'll be back there at the end of January!

Yesterday however we did have a gig for Capital VIP at the Clapham Grand with the one and only 'Chipmonk'! The gig was crazy and everyone loved it nearly as loud as all you Clothes Show fans and that's saying something!

Thanks to all the people supporting us at the gig and cheering! Chip Diddy Chip was really good as well and seemed in his element on stage. Though we didn't have time to speak much, he seemed very down to earth which was nice to see from a young artist doing so well!

So everything was going so well....until our car broke down in the middle of London at 1 in the morning! Out tour manager called the AA and they said it would take them up to 5 hours to get to us because of the weather so we had to keep stopping and starting to get back to our house!!!

After the engine completely seized up on us twice, we finally got to the end of our road after 4am and ended up having to push it back to the house for the last 400 metres. By the time I got to bed I had never appreciated it more haha!

Thanks for reading

Hope to see you at one our gigs before the New Year!

If not then have a Merrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy Xmas and a Happy New Year!

Love Always

Staz

xx

Paramore. Wembley Arena. December 18th. Best Night Of My Life.

basically what the title says.

i was constantly in the mosh pit. i'm proud of that fact :)

i crowd surfed. i'm also proud of that fact. my first time. but i made sure i was put down before i got yanked out. :)

Now Now Every Children. i've loved them for about a year now and watned to see them so bad and now i have. the crowd was pretty dead with them but there were a few people who knew them and some who did'nt know them but liked them. i was probably one of the very few singing along out of the 12 500 people at wembley that night. as a result, Brad(drummer) kept smiling at me and at the end of the set made a silly face at me and winked. Cacie(singer) also kept smiling and laughing at me too because i was the only one singing and dancing and i did'nt give a shit if everyone was staring at me like i was crazy. oh and Taylor York was at the side of the stage watching their set and he winked at me when NNEC were playing too.

yay for my enthusiasm for NNEC. i love them :)

Paper Route. again, i was one of the few singing along. Taylor was watching them too and Zac did. on one song Zac took over for the Paper Route drummer- i've forgot his name...oops-whilst he stage dived and crowd surfed. that was awesome. the Paper Route singer grabbed my hand too. wooo!

Youmeatsix. what bloody ridiculousness. not the band...they played a really amazing set. but the pit was absolutely insane. seriously, my friend had to get out because she physically could'nt breathe and the singer, Josh had to tell the crowd to be careful because he could see alot of people struggling. some girl next to me fell down and everyone had to quickly get her up before she got killed. apart from the intensity of the pit, they were awesome! his sister came out on Always Attract  and it was really pretty :)

finally.....

PARAMORE. i've loved them since around '06 but i've never seen them live, despite how much i've wanted to so this was a complete rush for me. this is where i crowd surfed. i was the first girl of the night to crowd surf and Hayley winked at me. i nearly died in that second. i could have melted into the people's hands beneath me. Taylor quickly waved at me, because i think he realised i was the girl singing to NNEC earlier. i nearly had a heart attack. then later on in their set Hayley started talking about a letter they'd recieved earlier and called some guy and girl up. we were all pretty confused then....the dude proposed to the girl....onstage....the most romantic thing i've ever seen. so, i wish Liam Wood and Leona to-be Wood the best in their future marriage. they were like 'are they out there?' and me and my friends started screaming we were them....i wish. so cute, we were freaking tearing up. ugh. then they played The Only Exception in dedication to them. but i think to cry, you'd have to be there. amaaaaazing.

PLUS they played My Heart exclusively just for our show. but thats not just it....Josh screamed on it. i think i nearly fainted. Hayley said that was the best night of her life and the show of the whole tour. to anyone else who went to the other shows that tour....sorry we were better ;) haha, just kidding.

me and my friends were on the very edge of the circle pit that formed at we can mosh and crowd surf with them best of them, but after waiting 4 hours outside in the snow then constant movement for like 2 hours pre Paramore, we were not in the mood for someone punching us and bashing into us for the hell of amusment, but we nearly got sucked into it so some nice dude put his arm round us. thankyou to that guy, we later knew as Tom or something around that name. those are the kind of people i love meeting in pits.

at the end of the finale a load of glitter came out across the crowd in the pit, so at memorabillia i have; my ticket, wristband, glitter, train ticket to get there and....

Jeremy also squirted loads of water onto me...from his mouth....so yeah, i have/had Jeremy-spit on me :)

ALL IN ALL....the most amazing night of my life. i did'nt take any photos or videos, i was having too much fun to bother. but other people did so here's some for you to watch :)
