Main Entry: 1queer Pronunciation: Ëkwir Function: adjective Etymology: origin unknown Date: 1508 2 a : differing in some odd way from what is usual or normal b (1) : eccentric, unconventional(2) : mildly insane : touched c : absorbed or interested to an extreme or unreasonable degree :obsessed d (1) often disparaging : homosexual (2) sometimes offensive : gay 4b - queer·ish -ish adjective - queer·ly adverb - queer·ness noun usage Over the past two decades, an important change has occurred in the use of queer in sense 2d. The older, strongly pejorative use has certainly not vanished, but a use by some gay people and some academics as a neutral or even positive term has established itself. This development is most noticeable in the adjective but is reflected in the corresponding noun as well. The newer use is sometimes taken to be offensive, especially by older gay men who fostered the acceptance of gay in these uses and still have a strong preference for it.

Because we‘ve got great ideas for picking proper Christmas gifts for your loved ones to share with you! It seems to get harder and harder to give a gift to an important woman in your life and make her truly surprised, especially at Christmas, the most important event of the year. October 20, 2009Top Digital Camera Ratings for 2009 HolidaysSee more photos, reviews and pricing information at Sell Photography
The Canon SX1 is one of the most versatile cameras on the market, with a 560mm optical zoom, flip screen, and HDTV-resolution video. With the holidays just around the corner, it's a great time for taking advantage of the sales and lowered prices being offered by the camera vendors. Amazon always seems to stay on top of the competition, and is always a great place to look for reviews as well as the lowest prices. With that in mind, we wanted to take a look through the reviews and find out what was being considered the best cameras available for this holiday season. The choices are so overwhelming, it can literally take hours and days of reading through all the options, features, reviews, and trying to figure out the best camera for you. What I have done is listed what we feel the top picks are for various categories, based on many reviews, and the research I've done recently for my own purchase. I've listed them from least expensive to the most, but that obviously shouldn't be the deciding factor. It's important to note your useage, your level of expertise, the level of quality you require, and the various features you need. One thing to remember, size isn't everything. For many people 8 megapixels should be sufficient, but 10 or 12 megapixels is optimum. Features to make note of in your decision: megapixels, optical zoom, HD Video, image stabilization, face detection, and red eye removal. These features a re practically a given if you are buying a sophisticated new camera now. One thing you will find, is that the cameras today are excellent, and continuing to get better all the time. Best Budget Digital Camera - Nikon CoolPix S570 12MPYou don't have to spend a lot of money to get a great camera!! For the budget under $200, you can't go wrong with the highly rated Nikon CoolPix S570. Simple, small, stylish, easy to use, and feature-packed for its price, it features wide-angle, 12 Megapixel sensor, image stabilization, a 5X Zoom Lens, and 640 x 480 video recording. It's Nikkor lens, with a 2.7 aperture, helps in low-light situations. One more cool feature is the Smart Portrait System, which makes it a great camera for fun and family. For the price, this is a very solid choice. Available in Red, Black, or Silver. Check out more reviews and the current lowest prices for the Nikon CoolPix S570 Best Digital Camera with HD Video Capability and Best Wide Angle Digital Camera Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 The Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS3 has a powerhouse of features, including a 12 Megapixel sensor (with a 10 Megapixel output, to allow for the 16:9 format), image stabilization, a wide-angle 12X Zoom lens (25-300mm equivalent), and HD Video capability in extremely smooth high quality AVCHD format that can rival any decent camcorder. All of these features makes the Lumix a highly versatile camera, with its only shortcoming being no manual controls. The features and image quality (a Leica lens) of the camera make it well worth the price tag between $300 and $400. You're getting alot for your money. Check out more reviews and the current lowest prices for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Best Digital Camera with Best Image Quality - FujiFilm FinePix F200 EXRPerhaps a surprise brand here, but a solid choice. The key here is the ability to achieve image quality through a Super CCD EXR sensor that combines weds Fujifilm's older Super CCD HR (high resolution) and Super CCD SR (more sensitive) in a single chip. Through a process called “binning” or “pixel fusion, ” the result is very high dynamic range quality and low light capabilities. In that process, you lose some resolution, but gain image quality. Combine that with a 28-140mm Fujinon lens with a 5X Optical Zoom, a 12 Megapixel sensor, some Manual shooting modes, a 640x480 video, this easy-to-use camera is a great choice in the $300-$400 price range. Check out more reviews and the latest current low prices for the FujiFilm FinePix F200 EXR Best Mega Zoom Digital Camera (and HD, manual controls, and RAW)Canon Powershot SX1 ISMy personal latest addition, and one of top consumer groups, is the powerful Canon SX1 IS, featuring an optical zoom that will take you up to 20x, or 560mm. On top of that, it features HDTV 1920 X 1080p video recording capability, a good sized high resolution 10MP Sensor, and a flip-and-twistable LCD screen. Because of these features, the SX1 becomes a unique camera. Even the zoom and video are image stabilized, a huge issue common with many cameras. However, its image quality will still fall short of a true DSLR camera, but with the CMOS processor, normally only found in DSLR's, it comes as close as one can. This camera rocks, and I'm very happy with mine. Check out more reviews and the latest current low prices for the Canon Powershot SX1 IS Best Digital SLR Camera Nikon D300Want the top-rated Digital SLR for top of the line quality? True photographers won’t ever be satisfied with the image quality or the range of controls that a compact digital camera can ever offer. The D300 DSLR can meet and exceed those expectations. The D300 has a 12.3MP DX format CMOS Sensor, 8 fps continuous shooting with battery grip or 51 point autofocus with 3D subject tracking - notable features to say the least about the camera. If you have the money to spend, your $1800 will not be wasted on a camera like this. June 9, 2009imPROMPTu Week 4-GiftThe piano came to life that morning. It was a beautiful piece from Rachmaninoff, Prelude Op. 32 that got me heavily stunned. Who could have thought that such fingers could revive the magnificence upon those ivory keys. I rushed curiously downstairs, being moved by inertia towards the piano. I wanted not to interrupt him. I couldn't obey my own thoughts, not anymore. I stopped right beside the open door and remained silent to admire the serenade. Out of sudden, it wasn't Rachmaninoff. It was something mellow and quite melancholic. "Do you like it?" He said, his voice waking me up immediately. "Absolutely. It's beautiful" I replied, almost mute and simply distracted. He chuckled and told me to sit beside him. "It's your Erard after all" He added as he glanced briefly at my direction, his lovely smile still upon his face. "I've never heard this one before" I mumbled, mostly to myself, trying to recall into my memories. "No, you certainly haven't. It is new and it has a special purpose" He mused, following a delightful score, which was probably just for his eyes. I kept myself attent to reality, but I sadly could not. I was already submerged in that creation of his. "Is this my gift?" I asked, finally conscious enough to pull the strings together. "At last!" He laughed and finished the piece, replacing the piano keys for my face and kissed me. Thanks for reading :) I'm sleepy so I am all random about this little thing I wrote...anyway *shrugs* Related Groups:

imPROMPTu Week 4 - GiftTitle: Gift Aoi is content as he watches his lover's sleeping face. It's a calm and peaceful visage, just like the day, and Aoi smiles. It's a very special day today. After all, it's his Uruha's twenty-eighth birthday. Uruha is just about to wake up, the little twitches of muscle on his face signs that he would be awake in moments. And it's not long before he does wake up, with a smile on his face. Aoi leans down and kisses Uruha's plush lips, murmuring softly, "Happy birthday, Uru-chan." Aoi breaks the kiss and sees Uruha grinning at him. "Good morning, Aoi. Thanks. That was nice. You should do it every morning." "It's not your birthday every day, honey," Aoi whispers, grinning back. "But if you want, I don't mind." Uruha laughs softly as he sits up. "I know that smile and that voice. You have something special planned." And then a wicked gleam enters his eyes as he adds, "Knowing us both, it's going to end here tonight, right? Without anything on?" "My Uruha's so smart," Aoi smiles. "Today, Uruha, you are my master." "You do know how kinky that just sounded, don't you?" Uruha smirks. "But that's okay, because I like it that way." Aoi raises an eyebrow at his lover. "And you wonder why everyone says you're the wildest one in the band," he says dryly. Uruha sticks his tongue out and merely says, "I'm hungry, Aoi-chan. Make me breakfast." "You want breakfast in bed?" Aoi asks mischievously. "Why shouldn't I?" Uruha laughs, and winks as he pushes Aoi off the bed. - Aoi starts wondering about the wisdom of his idea by the time it's mid-afternoon, during break time at band practice. Uruha's made him do everything, including chauffeuring him around, opening the door for him and the like. Though, he's quite happy with some commands, for example, "Shower with me." Which he does every day already, only this time it's a little different, because Uruha's topping this time. Not that he dislikes it, of course. Any sex with Uruha is always mindblowing, although it seems that Uruha is especially horny when it's his birthday. But what makes him wonder is when Uruha orders him to really do everything. Set everything up for him, get his guitar for him... and it gets a little frustrating. But then again, it is Uruha's birthday. And he's the one who offered to be his slave for the day. Uruha, however, notices his frustration, and during break time when Aoi's getting a breather, he goes up to him and asks if he can have a kiss. Asks for it, which he doesn't usually do. And Aoi, being the sweet boyfriend he is, just kisses Uruha rather chastely on the mouth, just a gentle pressing of lips. "Aoi, you did say I'm to be your master today... Don't blame me for taking advantage of it," Uruha murmurs. "But I'll do some things on my own. I wouldn't want you to have too little energy at the end of the day." "My ass hurts, Uru," Aoi sighs. "But mine doesn't," Uruha says with a wink. "Go with me and celebrate my birthday at the bar later." "You're going to get so wasted, Uruha," Aoi laughs. "Maybe not," Uruha smirks. "For you, maybe not." - Kai is the one who has to end up driving everyone home, because the rest are having too much fun drinking. And Kai, being the responsible mother leader of the group, is not drinking much at all just so he can safely drive everyone home later. Aoi is vaguely aware of Kai glaring at him and Uruha as they drink and spout all sorts of nonsense, while Ruki is off dancing and Reita is just about passed out on the couch. He doesn't care though, as Uruha happily starts singing "Happy Birthday" to himself in heavily accented English that Ruki probably taught him, and all he can do is laugh and start thinking about kissing his lover. When Ruki comes back draping himself over Kai and Reita while Aoi and Uruha start making out, Kai goes into mummy-mode (as the rest so kindly describe all the time) and tells them all that they have to go. Uruha pouts childishly, but Aoi murmurs into his ear, "The sooner we get home, the sooner we get in bed." He knows just how much Uruha wants that, and Uruha agrees to go home. Aoi and Uruha have a hard time keeping their hands off each other, until Kai says fiercely, "Dirty my car at all and I swear I'll make both of you my slaves for a week!" Kai in mummy-mode is decidedly terrifying, managing to stop Ruki from trying to place his hands everywhere and also to wake Reita up from his alcohol-induced coma. When Uruha and Aoi get home, though, the first thing Aoi does is not push Uruha against the wall and start kissing him frantically, but instead, ask Uruha, "Haven't you wondered where your birthday gift is?" Uruha smiles, a rather surprisingly sober one, and replies, "I did, but then I realised you've already given me yourself. I don't need something material for my birthday. I just need you." "Good," Aoi asks, and then that's when he starts kissing his beloved birthday boy. A few seconds into it, though, he pulls away and says, "Happy twenty-eighth birthday, Kouyou. I love you."
