Gettysburg Memorial for Arkansas
Arkansas is my home state . . . i almost passed this one as it is plain and set off from the major bulk of the memorials. I thought that was strange, but otherwise, i did think it very interesting that such a sparsely populated state in the 1860's would send soldiers so far away to Pennsylvania. Hey, I think it is a far distance to come now and i get to fly . . . . imagine getting there by walking, horseback or train?
It says: "The Grateful People of the State of Arkansas erect this memorial as an expression of their pride in the Officers and Men of the Third Arkansas Infantry, Confederate States Army, who by their valor and their blood have made this ground hallowed forever."

ASADI: history always makes you think about where we come from and where we are going . . . or, it not, it should!
