Funeral for a Friend Talk Upcoming Record, Reveal Title and Release Date
U.K. rock band, Funeral for a Friend, is gearing up for its fourth full-length (due October 13) by providing us with some background as to the themes and sound of the new record.

"This is definitely our most energetic record. It's heavy too, especially theme wise, but this ain't a fu--in' metal record! I don’t think I've been this excited about releasing a record in my life" singer Matthew Davies-Kreye told Kerrang! The band's upcoming album, Memory and Humanity, will be released on October 13 ... a date which hits close to home for Funeral, being "the fifth anniversary of when our debut album Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation was released."
Recently, the band discussed the concept of Humanity with Rock Sound: "There is quite a broad concept in this record, nut the title is a good summation of what the album is about. A lot of it is Davies-Kreye's experience growing up and the memories he had from his childhood. There is also a lot of thought provoking stuff that focuses more on social commentary in the songs too."
Humanity is the followup to both 2007's mini-album, The Great Wide Open, and 2007's full-length, Tales Don't Tell Themselves. Funeral for a Friend will be playing a few shows in July and a full-scale U.K. tour is said to be announced tomorrow, according to Kerrang!
Funeral for a Friend tour dates:
7.1: Glasgow, UK @ King Tuts Wah Wah Hut
7.2: London, UK @ King's College
7.4: Newport, UK @ TJ's
7.5: Abersoch, UK @ Wakestock
7.6: Lympne, UK @ Zoo Thousand
7.10: Bridgend, UK @ Bridgend Rec Centre
7.12: Wegorzewo, POL @ Union of Rock
Will Funeral for a Friend's fourth album be the band's best work?
