This week is jammed packed for RockstarBaby.net of interviews & photo passes... I'm interviewing & photographing Fall Of Troy (tuesday), Framing Hanley (wednesday), Quiet Drive (thursday) and Lacuna Coil (thursday).. yes thats right, i'm covering TWO concerts in one night(thankfully the venues are about 15 minutes from each other.. but still). It's going to be a crazy week.. not to mention I'm skating in a skateboard competition next saturday.

Title:  Every Girl’s Dream…

Pairing: Me and Nixon (Framing Hanley)

Rating:  PG-13:  A decent amount of bad language in the beginning, implications of sex, and mentions of nudity. (Don’t worry, It’s not as bad as it sounds. haha)

Summary: Nixon tries to convince me to go to the Prom…after all, it is every girl’s dream.

Author's Note:  This is pretty simple and I’ve written better, but I like it…hopefully you guys will too J

“WWHHHYYY??!!!!”

“Because it will be fun,” he said simply.

I had been arguing with Nixon, my boyfriend of almost two years, about this for the last twenty five minutes, and unfortunately, it didn’t look like he was going to budge.

“No.  No, I’m NOT going,” I argued.

“Anessa, YES, you are,” he challenged back.

“WHY?!!!”  I shrieked.

“What is so special about the damn Prom?  Buying a dress with way too much glitter that will only be worn once, then left to hang in the closet for the rest of its existence, serving only as a vague memory of yet another stupid, pointless, high school experience that has no bearing on the actual outcome on your life or future in any way AT ALL; killing the entire ozone layer by using five cans of hair spray so every last strand of hair stays in just the right position for the next ten years;  wearing high heels that will ruin anyone’s chance at ever walking correctly again, and probably contributing to some sort of foot arthritis that will be sure to torture you for the remainder of your years; caking so much make-up on your face that every last pore is filled with about five different kinds of toxins; using however many alternative methods available to get rid of any unwanted hair in any place on your body, even though you could just as easily use a razor; coating your nails with the perfect shade of paint that will just chip off and look like complete shit later; and all this useless effort for one night that is spent in a nasty, sweaty gym used for everything from assemblies, to P.E., to sports, to apparently PROM, crammed with a few hundred of your bestest friends that you wanna just spend EVERY waking moment with, – since you know, you get along SO well with all of your school chums, – dancing to “pop” music that anyone with any real taste would only listen to if they had headphones super glued into their ears; and all this at the pathetic hope of getting laid.”

“And by the way babe, if you’re making such a big deal out of this because you want me to lose it to you at Prom…uh, news flash…it’s a little late for that,” I added, patting his bare chest and pressing my naked body against his underneath the sheets just to make sure my point was clear.

“And while we’re on the subject, why’d you have to go and ruin perfectly perfect sex with another talk about the prom?” I asked, not being able to hide the contortion that word performed on my face.

I noticed a smile beginning to pull at the corners of his mouth as he asked, “Are you finished yet?”

“Humph,” was the squeak that came out of my mouth as I crossed my arms and rolled over in the bed, making sure not to touch Nixon in any way.

“Aw,” he chuckled, “I’m sorry.  You gave a really good speech sweetie,” he said sliding an arm over my waist to grab hold of my stomach and pull me back into him.

“Asshole,” I muttered under my breath.

His following laughter sent a tremor of vibrations through me, and I harshly bit my lip trying not to smile, (or moan).

“And, although it was constructed very well, it had a few…incorrect points,” Nixon said, running a finger lightly down my hip.

“Oh, really?” I said sarcastically, pressing back against him so he would let me flip over on my back to face him.

“And what would those be?”

“Well, first off…your dress doesn’t have to have glitter,” Nixon said as I narrowed my eyes at him in a ‘you’re such a smartass’ way.

He chuckled at my expression and continued.

“And second, all those other things about the way the others look or how they get ready, clearly don’t have to apply to you.  Especially since you’re already as gorgeous as can be right now.”

“HA!  God, you really want me to go to this stupid thing if you’re using that line, huh?” I laughed.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said smartly.

“Third, I know damn well I can get sex without the prom…OBVIOUSLY,” Nixon said, causing me to snort a bit.

“And finally, I didn’t ruin our “perfectly perfect sex”…I ruined the aftermath of it.”

“Are YOU finished?” I asked mockingly.

He smiled before replying with a simple, “Yes, yes I am.”

I laughed before I asked, “Why is this so important to you, baby?”, getting serious for the first time during this conversation.

After the slightest pause, he answered. 

“I want to take my girlfriend to Prom.  I want to show you off, and see you in a sexy dress and shoes.  I want to dance with you to shitty music, and I want to have this last high school memory before we graduate.”

“But Nixon, why this one.  What makes Prom so special?  Why is it different than all the other ‘high school memories’? I questioned.

“I don’t know,” he said thoughtfully.  “I just want to take you.  So let me.”

I looked deep into his eyes and realized, no matter what else I did, this was the only thing at the moment that could make my love happy.

I sighed heavily, made every effort possible NOT to roll my eyes at what I was about to say, and agreed.

“Guess I need to go dress shopping now,” I said looking down, with a mask of boredom on my face.

I looked up at Nixon with a smile and said, “But…for the moment…I have another idea of how we can spend our time.”

And with that I practically tackled my boyfriend onto his back, straddled his hips, and picked up where we had left off before all this prom talk got in the way.

“Just breathe,” I reminded myself for the tenth time as I looked in the mirror, running a hand over my stomach to smooth out my short, purple dress.

“Oh, God,” I muttered, feeling like I was going to hyperventilate when I heard Nixon’s car pull up.

I looked at myself in the mirror one last time, making sure my thick, curly hair was somewhat tame, my dress was smooth,(or as smooth as the design would allow), slipped on my black pumps, and draped the thin, black shawl over my shoulders.

“Coming!” I screamed down the steps at my mother as she welcomed Nixon in.

This was her dream come true.  She never thought Nixon would convince me to go, but now she was in her own little heaven.

I touched up my dark mascara and let out a deep breath as I turned away from the mirror and began my graceful descent down the stairs.

My breath caught in my throat as I saw Nixon staring at me.  I found myself evaluating every feature on his face to see if he approved.

“Stop it, you’ll mess up your lipstick!” my mother quietly reprimanded me, referring to the way I was nervously biting my lip; that ever present smile never leaving her face.

“Yeah! After all, messing up your lipstick is my job,” Nixon quietly joked, finally making me smile.

“Do you like it?” I anxiously asked him.

My dress was kind of plain, but I didn’t want to go overboard, (especially after my temper tantrum about glittery dresses before), and I accented it with silver jewelry that shined stunningly in the light.

“I love it.  You look beautiful,” he said as he approached me, taking my hand in his and planting a small kiss on my cheek.

“You look pretty damn handsome yourself,” I said, finally noticing the black dress pants, white button up shirt, shiny, black, patent leather shoes, and black silk tie he wore.

“PICTURES!!” my mother shouted pushing us together and taking about a hundred pictures of the two of us.   When she finally let us go, with tears and a quiet, “my baby’s grown up,” Nixon and I headed to the prom.

The decorations were beautiful and made the gym seem like a fantasy land.  Turns out no one else around, or the music that was playing mattered, as long as Nixon was the one holding me tight as we swayed to the beat heard in each other’s hearts.

“Thank you,” I whispered against Nixon’s chest.

“For what?” he drawled out.  He was perfectly content.  So was I.

“For tonight.  Thank you.” I answered.

And with a simple, “I love you,” from my the love of my life, the petty gym and the people in it faded away; the unknown future was no longer feared, but welcomed, and I finally realized why Prom is every girl's dream.

I was clinging to the reason.  Nixon.  Thousands of girls dream of this night, with this boy…and I’m the one whose wish came true.

“I love you, too,” I murmured, and the song came to an end.

So... I've found out about a bunch of new music lately, and i've needed new music for a while now... but I thought once or twice a month i'd post a journal about what i've been listening to lately, and everybody can tell me what they've been listening too. Everybody knows they love new music:) So here is what i've been listening to lately:::

1. Love Drunk - Boys Like Girls

This is a brand new song off BLG's new album, Love Drunk, due out September 8th. This song is super catchy and will get stuck in your head for days. Trust me, though, it's not a bad thing.

2. Everyday Like This - The Fear Of Falling

This is a unsigned band from North Carolina that traveled all the way to San Francisco for Warped Tour, they're on it all summer long, so if you're going to Warped, keep an eye out for any of these boys. Their music is amazing, and they were saying how they showed their music to Pat from The Maine and he loved it. They're totally worth a listen!

3. Consider The Sea - VersaEmerge 

VersaEmerge is one the younger and newer additions to the Fueled By Ramen family, and one of my personal favorites. Their music is waaaay addicting, and they put on an awesome live show. Every band member is soo nice, and they love to have fun on stage and off. The music is amazing, so listen to it!

4. Heartbeat- Stereo Skyline

A very upbeat and fun band, these boys aren't just cute faces and amazing hair. They know how to make a song be stuck in your head for hours! You'll be singing their songs at the top of your lungs in the car with the music blasting... so much fun! On top of that they put on a great show. If you need new music, and like the more poppier music, check out these boys.

5. Chasing The Light - Every Avenue

I got this song from a iTunes card thingy in the Warped Tour program. I've been listening to it a ton, and all of EA's music is fun. I love this song, and it's probably my favorite right now.

6. Slow Dance - Framing Hanley

I've been listening to Framing Hanley for a while now, and this is my favorite song right now. They have an awesome cover of Lil Wayne's Lollipop, and when they released that they got super popular.

7. The Downfall Of Us All - A Day To Remember

Catchy song, great live shows, awesome band. This song is fun to listen to, and the band has a lot of songs that are amazing. The live shows are so much fun to watch, if you're at Warped this summer, this is a set not to miss, trust me.

8. The Letter - Acceptance

Even though they've broken up, Acceptance still is one of the best band's i've listened to. I didn't hear about them 'til after they broke up, but i'm still lovin' their music. They made amazing music, so check it out if you get a chance.

9. The Letdown - The White Tie Affair

They're one of my newer favorites, and this song is my current favorite. They're on Warped all summer long, so check 'em out too if you're going. They've got perfect dance music, so hit it up:)

10. Love Stories Never End - Callahan

One of my all time favorites. This unsigned band is AMAZING. I love love love this song! Their music is super great, you'll love it. Check them out if you get a chance. (They're following Warped for a while! Don't forget to check it out!)

I saw them on April 8th and they were AMAZING!!!!! We were so close to the stage that my friend Kyle had sweat slung on him by one of the guys... kinda grass but still amazing!!! My friend Jessica and I took soooo many pictures, mostly of Nixon ;) , and I'll try to upload all of them sometime soon. Oh and when we were leaving, we had parked by the bus, and they  walked out and I got to hug Nixon!!! I was sooooooooo excited and still am. I got my mom to take a picture of us and that is the only damn one that is blurry. I was soooooo pissed. Still thrilled from the concert and still can't hear to good tho. But it's all good. :D

I was obsessed with the song The Way She Feels by Between the Trees after reading (or starting to read) Renee Yohe's book, Purpose for the Pain (it finally came from TWLOHA) but I stopped cuz I cried (more like sobbed) everytime I heard it. lol (plus I kept thinking of Renee....and others which shall not be named.) Not that most of you know what I'm talking about lol.

OK....so that's it I guess.

2) Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche Escape the Fate, god how i miss/love ronnie but i LOVE craig too!! they both rock my soxxxx! but i chose a song/ vid with ronnie b/c i miss him like crazy and i think he has an amazing voice =)(not that craig doesnt)

3) All That I've Got- The Used, oh how i love this band =) i wuz jus flippin thro channels whn i saw the end of this music and then found them on 1 of my friends youtube channel the lip sycin' 2 it=) touching story huh?(sarcastic) but enjoy...

4) Pray for Plagues- Bring Me The Horizon, OLI SYKES IS SEXXXXY!!! this is my favorite screamo band people say "what the hell is he sayin?" open ur god damn ears and maybe u'll understand(that wuznt meant 4 the ppl on foe/buzznet)! but i love this band and i hope 2 c them in concert soon....maybe

ahh i'm so excited! i found out about framing hanley through purevolume about two months ago. they're not like the normal hardcore stuff i listen to, but they have some major potential. they may make it big one day. i really hope so; these guys deserve it =]
