January 4, 2009A Weakness for BowsNew years eve was busy. I went to my best friend's house to celebrate with other guests. We walked to Blockbuster and got "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "The House Bunny". They were both hilarious. We also watched "Sex and the City" episodes and "Friends". They are my favorites. We went to get yogurt too, but the store was closed ;[ and we had to walk back again. ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to eat Russian food for dinner. Some of it was good and very similar to my Persian food while others were disgusting to me. For new years, my BFF got me really pretty pearl earrings. I'm wearing them but you can never see my ears because I always wear my hair down. I slept over at her house, and the next morning we walked to the plaza again and got yogurt for breakfast. My favorite is the plain//vanilla yogurt with kiwi and blueberry toppings. I also like pomegranate seeds and pineapple. We watched more TV episodes and just talked for hours and hours.
![]() ![]() I eventually went home and the next day she came over to my house for lunch and then we went to the mall for some shopping. I got a really cute top with a giant bow on it. I go weak at the knees for anything with a pretty bow on it. ;] oh gosh. My mother came and I went with her to get a new bottle of her perfume; she ONLY likes that perfume. Everything else smells disgusting to her. Later I had a 'date' with my boy. This was all Wednesday--Friday. What did you do and how did things go?

September 15, 2008I have far too much spare time on my hands today.Howdy Cowboys and Cowgirls If you read my last journal you would know that I am currently at home, in pain and bored out of my brains. So seeing as I have all of this spare time on my hands I went and found some cool stuff to keep me occupied today, as I'm probably going to be at school tommorrow. Okay there is a new Touch iPod out, which I am so excited about getting for xmas, it's really cool. I just downloaded iTunes 8.5 and dayum it is awesome. There is this new feature called "Genius" and you click on any song in your library and it makes a playlist with songs that go well together! Also you can click any song and it will reccomend others that are like it and other good songs by the artist. IT IS SO FREAKING FUN! I got it to make playlists for "19-200 by the Gorillaz", "Million Miles Away by Hanoi Rocks", "Wicked Game by HIM" and "See You On The Other Side by Ozzy Osbourne." I made some others too, but these are the ones I kept. I reccomend that you download this, but only if you are a major music freak/fan and have an iTunes account on which you purchase music, because if you aren't going to buy any music from the Genius sidebar then there isn't much point in having it. Next, I have been watching "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" it is so funny. In it Russell Brand sings, and he is actually really good. He sings for the imaginary band "Infant Sorrow" and I downloaded the songs off the album, lots of fun to listen to. I also suscribed to his radio show on iTunes (yes I am obsessed with iTunes, but I mean who wouldn't be? It's the greatest program ever, so much music, so many pictures, so many podcasts, so much fun) I was, seriously, laughing so hard I almost cried. So there are some things I have used to keep myself occupied. I am off now to watch Arrested Development, something else I am obsessed with. Oh I almost forgot... VOTE FOR HIM AS THE BEST FINNISH ACT AT THE EMA'S!!!!!! I voted in all of the categories : ) I need to get out of this house. That is all, for now. Issy xox

April 21, 2008'Kingdom' Banishes 'Sarah Marshall' to Second PlaceJackie Chan and Jet Li must be singing a merry tune this weekend as this dynamic duo tops the weekend box office in their first outing together in a movie. "The Forbidden Kingdom" chased up an estimated $20.9 million dollars in a fierce battle for the top spot. [cut=How much did "Forgetting Sarah Marshall lose by?]
The Lionsgate/ Weinstein Co. release was a surprise hit thanks to its PG-13 rating and the high-kicking, black-belt stunts by the two leads.
"Forgetting Sarah Marshall," the R-rated Judd Apatow romantic comedy starring Jason Segal came in second place with an estimated $17.3 million clams. Although Universal did lead up to the opening with a huge marketing push, it jsut wasn't enough to steal the top spot. This is a middle of the road performance for an Apatow comedy. "Sarah" beat "Drillbit Taylor" and "Walk Hard" but did not match the openings of "Superbad" and "Knocked Up," or "The 40-Year-Old Virgin."
"88 Minutes" clocked in with a fourth place opener cashing in just $6.8 million checks. Hindered by poor reviews and a lackluster cast (aside from Al Pacino) this all added up for the seriously dismal opening. But there is always hope for DVD! So far it hasn't been a stellar year at the box office. Must be a reflection of our times in general. I think allowances everywhere have dipped. Don't ya think? Let's hope summer is a shot in the arm for Hollywood, or they'll be slashing budgets for next year's big budget sequels... oh no!__-=end-bn-cut=-__

'Forgetting Sarah Marshall': Buzznet Movie Review
Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the latest raunchy comedy in the Judd Apatow empire, is a surprisingly realistic examination of dependent relationships and what happens when they collapse. It's also the funniest movie so far in 2008.
